He was actually in the process of killing Steve in S2 had it not been for Max injecting him with that serum. Imagine what he did to Steve, that would’ve been Lucas, all because he was black. No idea how they easily forgive that because of some childhood trauma.

How crazy is it that this show can make me feel for the impersonal killer monster? When Robin is watching the girl from band with all the feels in her head, and then, this guy rocks up, you’ll never understand how hard that hits until you’ve been there multiple times yourself like me 😭😂 The silent struggles of being gay

Just because they allow the audience to understand Billy's backstory and feel some sympathy for him doesn't mean we were supposed to like him. The show illustrates that humans are complex, not simply good or bad, which I appreciate. I can't understand your idolization of Billy, I mean you really like him lol. The writers have also confirmed that he was a racist and they wanted to show how someone like that would react to the interracial relationship between Max and Lucas. I guess as a person of color and due to personal experiences I have had, that really strikes a nerve with me and I can't overlook it so easily. While I can understand how he became that way and that he might have grown into a better person if he had lived longer, I believe it's not trauma that defines us but the choices we make despite it. Many people experience the same trauma as Billy without becoming racists or bullies. Those are the kinds of characters I love, ones that may be anti-heros or even villians but they have good hearts despite the horrible things they have experienced, not like Billy. Again, maybe he could have become that, but he just was not that kind of character when he died.

Also that song at the end is an absolute banger! Lastly I can't believe how sometimes you can wait that long to watch series finales. Unless you actually watched it already? =D

2024-06-27 23:49:03 +0000 UTCi think the show tries to tell u in the last ep that vecna was a "sensitive boy" as his father describes him in the jail/physc ward but i think when one/vecna/henry is talking to el/nancy in the last 5 mis of the previous episode he kinda says that he just had powers and his mum was begining to suspect that it was him so he killed her first i think , then it escalated to his father and sister but his father survived due to the music ect , sorry for the paragragh lmao but i cant see many comments helping u guys with that <3 cant wait for these EPIC finale episodes <3 love this ep !

He does exactly what his character should do which is be a dumb pothead and be there for johnathon. How many more characters do we really need lol. I also think it would be very low of Mike to act like the homophobes Will had to deal with since childhood including his own father.

The music video is hilarious 80s cringe though. 😅 Eleven's theme during Brenner's death was also amazing, very emotional. I've added a lot of songs to my playlist since I started watching Stranger Things. Next episode you'll be all caught up!

It's really a turning point as she finally stands up for herself and doesn't let him gaslight her anymore. I also loved how she didn't grant his dying request of her understanding his actions. His actions where always selfish. He was helpful to her cause in this season, but he was a bad apple all the way.

Interesting how it can be interpreted in a few ways—I read that line more as Will not liking girls *yet* as in he’d not yet undergone the transition to being more interested in girls (or guys) than in D&D or video games etc, which is something that most people experience at that age. I like both interpretations and whichever way you look at it, the scene in this episode benefits and is quite powerful 😄

Everyone is always dealing with something, so it is no excuse to put your frustration on anyone. However, I totally see where you’re coming from with Billy. I mean, darkness can’t exist without light and vice versa, so all characters must have a bit of both, and the viewers, based on their experiences, are allowed to balance out the dark and light sides, and decide for themselves if they’re a redeemed character or not.

I was the same age as the characters in the 1980's & back then Journey was INESCAPABLE. At least in USA. To this day when I hear their songs I go right back to awesome summers riding bikes, roller skating, skateboarding & going to the mall with my friends. Good times always!

I guess my thinking is that Will hasn’t expressed his feelings for Mike specifically; he seems as though he thinks Will really is talking about El here, even though he’s not. Will considers himself to be different not only because he is affected by the upside down, but also because he is gay. He has feelings for Mike. In the 80s, this was surely an especially difficult thing to admit to yourself and others. His fear of losing Mike comes from how he fears Mike will react when he knows the truth. That was the truth behind what he said about El. Apologies if I am wrong and you did catch that, but because you didn’t say anything about it or mention it in the discussion lead me to believe you didn’t catch it (which would be hilarious considering how hard you roasted Mike for being oblivious haha). Great reaction! Finale is so epic!!

2024-06-27 00:08:23 +0000 UTCDacre Montgomery played Billy, and he went to the Duffer Brothers and asked if they could show Billy's back story because he said he was bullied as a kid but he knew the people who were bullying him were probably going home to some awful situations. So yes, they did put in that back story so people could empathize with Billy just like you two do. I think the person we were never meant to like is Ted, and it is true we don't like him. I love this episode how it closed a few things, but opened up a whole lot of other questions. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and the song at the end, Separate Ways by Journey one of my favorite songs. I noticed something tonight that I just got after seeing this episode about 4 times now. At the beginning when Vecna was showing Nancy his past, he also showed her Brenner, who was an illusion, but in addition to the powers El has, Vecna can also make people see things like 8 can. I was thinking back on this season how he showed Max her mom and the other kids he killed their parents looking all destroyed. Interesting he picked Nancy to communicate with. I think he sees her as a leader.
