MOD MESSAGE -IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING SYNCING ISSUES ***
if you are watching the US version for example, it might not sync up perfectly. There IS a way to fix this. Please follow these steps. I am being extra detailed so anyone should be able to follow this easily:
Option A: EASY WAY (recommended)
downloaded the "Youtube Custom Speed" extension. A version of this should be available on both Chrome and Firefox browsers: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/youtube-custom-speed/kmfcinojnfabkpndlgomnfjllgeppegb
Use a time of 0.959 this should sync up perfectly

Full Length Reaction Guide
We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync. Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen. Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0. Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:
Use a dual monitor PC setup to watch both screens simultaneously
Use the split screen functions on your computer/phone to watch them side by side
Chromecast / Screenshare one screen to your TV while watching the other screen on a phone or laptop
HDMI your laptop / tablet to the TV and use the TV as a 2nd monitor (not mirror display)
Use your Smart TV or Gaming console to play the YouTube reaction and your Phone/Laptop to play the show (or other way around)
Use Google chromes picture in picture mode to overlay your own copy of the show over our reaction in a smaller window size (Link to the extension here: ( https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en )
We hope you enjoy the video!
Love,
Spartan & Pudgey ❤️
As for the ending, 14 years later now that I've seen the film a number of times, I've considered a darker explanation I'd never considered. Ariadne was the architect for all the levels of the dreams for the job. Cobb let it slip the secret to his totem to her, as well as his need to see his children's faces only once he got back home, and knew it was reality. Given the circumstances, I think Ariadne could have baked that into the dream, giving him that happy ending if it didn't work out. Whether or not the top falls over or not, we can't for sure know whether or not it was a dream because Cobb disclosed details on his personal totem.
Just a thought, but there's more than a few pieces of dialogue that aid the theory, as well as the fact that Ariadne showed a ton of talent altering dreamscapes in seemingly real time.
Not dismissing anyone's interpretation. Vague endings that are open to interpretation are just fun to have conversations about. I'm probably reaching on this one, but it reminded me of how much I enjoy Christopher Nolan's films for this reason exactly. Much like Memento, I have different takes on the viewing depending on where I'm at in my life.

The ending is fore sure an open ending open to anyone's interpretation.
However i would like to draw your attention to 2:13:45 where he says "come back with me" and it suddenly changes to the plane, with no drop or gunshot. And in the beginning he mentioned that you never know how you got into a dream. So how did he end up in the plane again, skipping al sequential drops aswell.
This to me makes me think more so that he is also lost in limbo now, rather then actually making it out alive.

Pudgey, couldnt stop laughing seeing the expression on your face change from being happy when cobb sees his kids at the end and then instantly being really nervous when it cuts back to the top still spinning 😂😂

What a blast you guys.
When you realize that the reason Cobb didn’t want to see his children’s faces again until they were firmly in front of him in reality, because seeing their faces again would make him abandon any care he had for any other reality. 💔
That’s why he recoils from seeing Mal attempting to show them to him… and why at the end he stops even caring about his Totem’s result as soon as he sees them turn and face him.
I heard of someone who had a dream in which he met the love of his life, married her and lived a lifetime of children, memories, christmases, seasons, watching their children grow up and graduate and get married off, become retired and old with his love…. and then woke up again in his bed trying to recover the memories of a dream. It apparently deeply impacted them for a long time to follow, losing that life they had lived.
I’m glad you have come to appreciate Nolan’s genius beyond TDK trilogy, well deserved of praise as that was. Just wait… you guys have yet to encounter his masterpiece, the prestige (in my opinion).
As odd as it sounds sometimes I have a ton of genuine IRL fun spending an evening with you guys and this was one of the best yet. By the end of the I had tears in my eyes from the movie and was laughing along with Spartan’s “what a snake move” at the cutaway on Cobb’s Totem 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also I gotta say to see some aspects of this story and the way we could see you process it really displayed and mirrored how deeply you care for each other and your bond really showed. It’s pretty cool to see two people clearly devoted to each other, super glad for you guys to have found that in each other 🫡🫶💪

Michael Caine was asked about the ending & said in an interview outright that Cobb is not dreaming. He was confused about dreams & reality and so asked Nolan directly. Nolan told him that when he's in the scene, it's reality. So we know the ending is real. Caine probably wasn't supposed to let that slip though lol

Inception is soo great and Leonardo dicaprio as usual was amazing and he has alot of films you guys should watch, almost too many to name as he is one the greatest actors of all time and soo many great films like Wolf of Wall Street, Blood Diamond,Shutter Island, Django Unchained , The Departed and The Revenant for which he got an Oscar , Btw most of these films he had Oscar nominations but Im not gonna lie I was shocked that Spartan forgot Leonardo’s name like he’s been the biggest actor in hollywood for the last 20 years, just shows how much you don’t know films lol .

It’s been 14 years and the element of mystery in the end continues to live on. Christopher Nolan himself refuses to put an end to the debate. Although it was kind of frustrating at first it’s fun to go back and forth on the ending.
Nonetheless, this is one of the most creative and interesting movies ever made in my opinion, and absolute favorite of mine and it can’t go unsaid that Hans Zimmer once again delivers another masterpiece with the score on this movie.

Thank you guys, was a pleasure watchn' you discover this story. Your outro discussion went in a direction I was hoping, I also had these same conversations with my girlfriend and family members after a first watch.
And thanks for sharing some of your personal experiences with us.. I know it's a difficult thing to do with a bunch of people you don't really know, but no judgement whatsoever..
And just to let you know, I heard the key to all this for us the audience, especially in the last scene, is Cobb's wedding ring.. When he's dreaming, he's wearing it.. when Cobb is awake he's not wearing it..
So if you ever get the chance to rewatch, see if you can tell if Cobb is wearing it or not in the last scene..
Thanks again guys..

I love this film so much. It means so much to me personally. It really goes to the core of how our minds work and what consciousness really means. I think we are all capable of being Mal. It’s the danger of how ab idea can shape your entire personality and it’s what Cobb is talking about at the very beginning of the film. Thanks for the wonderful reaction, I am glad I didn’t watch any other reaction to this film so I could enjoy it even more with you guys.

Such a great movie. How does Nolan come up with stuff like this, am I right?
Fyi, Science Fiction is not always about space. There may not be an exact definition, but to me (in a nutshell) it's fiction that is based on science.
So, like in the beginning of this movie they give you all these "facts" about dreams, like the one where you never remember how you got there, etc. That's the "science" part. And then they create a "what if" story with it. The "fiction".
These type of movies always have some feel to them of "it could happen", or are quite believable.
So, this movie is also labeled as Sci-fi (+action).
Very relatable how Spartan "checked out" at some point. It always happens to me too whenever I watch this movie (after a couple of years). But just like he explained, the movie does a great job of reminding you of all the layers, so you (eventually) do catch up.
Here are some related recommendations:
Trippy in general:
- Memento (also by Nolan)
- The Machinist
Time loops:
- Source Code
- Edge of tomorrow
Other great movies:
- Sixth Sense
- The Usual Suspects
- Oblivion
- Moon

This film is great. It can be a bit tricky to understand at first. But the best part is that it has great rewatchability and becomes easier to understand on subsequent rewatches.
As for the top at the end... he got to be with his children. He might be ok with it if it didn't stop.

At least 3 Christopher Nolan films are in my top 10 movies of all time. Inception, Interstellar, and The Dark Knight trilogy (if I had to pick just one from that trilogy it would be The Dark Knight Rises).
His ability to weave emotion into such outlandish premises makes them feel even more real than it would under another director.

MOD MESSAGE -IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING SYNCING ISSUES
****Anyone having syncing issues please try this and get back to me with your results.****
Apparently S&P watched the Binge/Australian version of this movie. This is a rare issues nowadays but back around the time of this and say, Game of Thrones, distributors would commonly have different international versions with slightly different timing/speeds. So if you are watching the US version for example, it might not sync up perfectly. There IS a way to fix this.
Please follow these steps. I am being extra detailed so anyone should be able to follow this easily:
Option A: EASY WAY
downloaded the "Youtube Custom Speed" extension. A version of this should be available on both Chrome and Firefox browsers:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/youtube-custom-speed/kmfcinojnfabkpndlgomnfjllgeppegb
!!!! One user suggested a time of .959 was a good number !!!!
Option B: MANUAL WAY
!!!!!!!! CLICK THIS LINK if you want a better formatted guide with images included: !!!!!!!!!!!!!
https://www.labnol.org/youtube-custom-speed-201125
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
My own (messy, super specific version of the above links instructions):
1. Open the video fully so that it opens up on Youtube itself instead of playing it through patreon.
Press F12 to open up a special window, alternatively the manual way to do this
2. Go to the top right corner of your browser (in this case Firefox or Chrome) and click on the 3 lines or 3 dots respectively.
3. Select More Tools from the drop down menu.
4. Select Developer Tools/Web Developer Tools
5. This will open up a new screen within your webpage. Find the tab that says "console". Click where you see the little arrow with blank area.
6. Type in the following (I don't advise copy+paste as sometimes it doesn't like that) exactly as shown here: $("video").playbackRate=0.96 or whatever timing you think will work.
7. Press enter. Close that aforementioned window. Watch the video alongside your copy as normal and see if its syncing up correctly. If not, adjust the numbers again.
Doing this allows you to set a custom speed for this video thats more specific than the ones given to you by default on the built in youtube video settings.
We had to do this with the first few episodes of Game of Thrones uncut reactions when we discovered this was an issue. Once S&P changed to a VPN to watch the US version it was no longer needed for the rest of the GoT reactions.
If anyone finds a good number to insert into this to get full syncing please reply to this with it below!
Thank you again for your patience and understanding with this!
