I understand where Spartan is coming from that it might not be important in the grand scheme of things, BUT I think that’s the point the show is trying to explore - they want to parallel real life adolescent issues, but in the context of them having superpowers. Emma - calorie counting, purging, being in denial, the self-esteem issues and shame, feeling the societal pressure to look a certain way etc I mean she literally is vomiting to lose mass, whether it be size-related or weight-related, I think the concept is a clear analogy for bulimia or an eating disorder, whatever the correct term is Jordan - transgenderism/nonbinary Marie - self harm Bonuses from doing some reading on Reddit: Cate’s power “theme” is consent which is an interesting take too, might be a bit too generalised but I can see the connection Luke literally “burned out”, ie. overwhelmed by stress/pressure which I can see given that he was ranked 1 and all Andre’s is generational trauma, ie. having to follow in his dad’s footsteps who shares the same power
