Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

THE HUNGER GAMES CATCHING FIRE (2013) UNCUT REACTION

Comments

Haymitch is a previous victor from district 12

Michael Short

This comment means the world and we are glad that we can help put a smile on your face during some rough times 🥰 sending so much love

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Love you guys, your reactions are getting me through rock bottom times in my life. You have a positive impact on alot of people sometimes without even realising and I hope your channels grow :)

Tara L

Those who are having issues with speed, there may be a delay watching from different parts of the world. I know there is a slight delay watching BB from the states and synching it up with S&P uncut, but I can work it out. 1.05 as mentioned by S&P would speed that up.

Lyn Hurst

Very interesting. I should pick up the books someday, but I heard they were even more dark and creepy so I may not, but sounds like some facts and story parts are lost in the movies as usual. I love the movies though.

Lyn Hurst

Wow that was fun to watch It's been so long I forgot about these movies. So excited for Mockingjay

Danny

Love the reaction you guys. And of course: FOR RUE!

Toan Toan

It took me a movie to kinda get Effie...I did like Caesar pretty immediately lol

TwistedMagoo

I must say I never seen Effie and Caesar get so much hate

Guadalupe Rosas

we stream it on netflix!

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Where do you stream/watch your movies from? The speed is off from my Netflix version, the same as the first Hunger Games reaction. Yours is slightly slower thank mine, I have to set you to 1,05x speed which is slightly better - but still off. Its sadly very annoying.

Leuvie

I forgot how great these movies were! Another banger reaction

Robin Lee Melendez

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman, 10 years ago today. One of the best to ever do it. Im looking forward to the day you guys run out of franchises like hunger games star wars lotr and stuff, and start reacting to other types of movies (auteur movies some might call) like all the PTA movies that Hoffman starts in, it is fucking insane how good he was on those and many other movies.

Pablo

I never knew that. What horrors he must have went through being the sole survivor of 48 people. He then had to live a life which isn't his own being told what he has to do. No wonder he drinks constantly. No surprise he joined the revolution

AlrightThere

Damn, it has been a long time since I had seen this movie. Forgot how good it was. Glad you guys liked it as well. Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Plutarch) was a very talented actor and sadly died young 10 years ago today (Feb 2, 2014) from a drug overdose.

Riolkin

He died 10 years ago today.

Josh

I love Pudgey’s empathy :(

Lex Thornton

I haven't seen anyone in the comments mention it, but Haymitch is a resident of district 12 and was a victor himself (the only D12 victor since the 10th games until Katniss and Peeta won their games). Up until that point, Haymitch was a mentor of every D12 pairing, and watched each and every one of them die in every game from that point until the events of book/film one. It's also important to note that his games were the 50th Hunger Games which was a quarter quell games like this one and he won. So imagine how fucking horrible that must have gone for him. I'm not sure if you guys realize this by the end of the film as I've only just started watching your reaction, so if so, disregard! I also think that subtitles would help you guys keep up with certain details a bit easier, especially when yall are talking. Sometimes, seeing the names as well as hearing them, helps retain who is who and what is what. Like the Seneca Crane bit. I think you'd have caught that easier has you used them from movie one. Just a suggestion!

kelly

I've been mad enjoying watching this with you guys! So much fun rewatching this universe and they're actually better than I remember. Love how perceptive you guys are too.

Bailey Steen

Great reaction guys, I love how you always get so engaged. You guys might have missed it but the reason the peacekeepers were burning that place in district 12 was because that was the black market. Plutarch suggested it to Snow in the previous scene. The painting of Rue in the training centre was done by Peeta, since we know that his special skill he likes to demonstrate is his painting/camouflage. He knew it would upset Katniss but he didn't do it maliciously. I've seen the edit at the end of the video so I'm assuming you're now aware that Seneca Crane (who Katniss strings up as a mannequin) was the previous game maker. Plutarch and Katniss reference his death during their conversation at Snow's party. Katniss's stylist is Cinna and he basically knew he'd signed his death warrant with the mockingjay dress. I'm so glad you guys have warmed up to Effie, she is just a product of the Capital. Even Caesar Flickerman, the show host, is just doing his job (although I'm not sure he cares whereas Effie clearly does). Good one Spartan for realising the arena was sectioned with different threats way before the clock reveal. The plot twist at the end with the reveal of district 13's existence still chills me.

Nicole Herd

Thanks for getting me into these with great reactions. I'd seen all of the first over a few views, but watching it and this in one go I'm surprised how much I enjoyed. And it's great that you so often point out stuff I would otherwise miss!

AdrianF

it reminds me very much of the way rhaenyra looks at the camera in the last episode of hotd

Alex Sage

Omg already! Can't wait to watch!

JiaHailstorm

Agreed, thank god someone said it …

JonSnow21

I honestly have nothing to add. This might have been my favorite reaction. So damn good. I’m really happy you guys are enjoying this so much. Such a wonderful franchise. You really surprised me how much you got the themes and the intricacies of the games. The names, well, I think other people will help you with those haha. Can’t wait for the next one!!!

Farbod

I never understood why different regions have slightly different playback speeds, so strange.

Paul

I haven't seen this one in a while. I forgot how good this movie was. It's probably even better than I remembered it.

John Neiberger

i don't follow the notion that katniss would be better with gale because katniss is "too strong for peeta" ?

lina

In the future can you say what you're watching on cuz your copy seems to be going slightly slower..

lance tophoj

to be fair, whether they missed stuff or caught it, the Harry Potter films, though quite good, were forced to truncate quite a bit of content from the books...and that does show through at times.

TwistedMagoo

Yea agreed , Phillip is easily one of the best actors in the history of cinema, watch him in The Master if you don’t believe me, such a loss to the world…RIP legend.

JonSnow21

Fantastic reaction Spartan and Pudgey. Great picking up on what you did. I think we need to remember that the ones fighting this game were the previous winners and the cream of the crop. I believe that was why it was more about the strategy and the clever thinking about how the game was designed with the clock and where the different things were occurring according to what hour. I felt sad seeing Lenny Cravitz's character get attacked in front of her for the dress. Effie was even in on the ruse which was cool. I loved Philip Seymour Hoffman (can't remember the character's name) in this movie and his working with Haymitch and Finick? Hey we had to wait years for the Star Wars movie sequels.

Lyn Hurst

Catching fire is imo the best dystopian fiction film ever made and though I like Gale in the first 2 films , I always liked Peeta soo much more that I never understood why some reactors prefer gale lol maybe that’s just me but yea Finnick is easily my favourite character in the whole franchise, such an interesting character played perfectly by Sam Claflin who’s an insanely good actor…And You can see how much Katniss cares about Peeta and begins to genuinely love him in this film compared to the first….Great Reaction to an amazing film… P.S. Spartan U mentioned how something about Harry Potter not being fleshed out or something? But tbf after seeing your guys HP reactions , I think that’s more you guys missing stuff than the film’s fault like alot of your guy’s complaints were explained in the films but yall missed it and well I think the HP franchise is by far superior as a whole in terms of consistency by critics and audiences alike but yea this film is amazing, my favourite in the franchise…

JonSnow21

On the Mockingjay symbolism: Jabberjays (what emulated Prim, Gale, and Annie’s screams) are genetically engineered mutts that were made during the first rebellion as a means of subtly catching rebel conversations. But the rebels caught on, and used them to spread false info back to the Capitol. The jabberjays were then abandoned by the Capitol and left to die. However, they mated with Mockingbirds to create Mockingjays. The Mockingjay is a symbol of the Capitol’s failure, a creature’s defiance to not just die but to persevere and survive. A symbol of rebellion.

Invisigoth99

Right? They caught stuff I never caught on my first watch! That's why I love them! Spartan has really stepped up the detective skills lol

Alex Ocean

I think Heavensbee is just adlibbing a bit cuz he has to stop the rotation to not drown Katniss

TwistedMagoo

1,3, and 4 were good...but damn I love Catching Fire every time. They kick it off with the visit to district 11 and then it's off to the races and it never lets up.

TwistedMagoo

yall were mad perceptive this one love to see it!

Megan Burland

The whole spinning the whole cornucopia thing to make it harder to tell time is... odd. There is still a very visible tree in the lightning zone...

Golladan

LOVE IT!

CpaSpartan Pudgey

haha we're so glad to hear that! Hope you enjoy this next one as well

CpaSpartan Pudgey

YEAHHHHHH

Rosemary

Omg I was ab to rewatch the first one with u guys Because honestly you guys Had the best reaction to the first hunger games I’ve ever seen. When Spartan talked about being immersed in the movie I really felt it from you guys that was a great reaction. As I go back to rewatch it I’m like man I wonder when they’re gonna drop catching fire…so imagine my reaction 😂.

Shai Jadaka Ture

The way Katniss stares down the camera at the end, and you can see her grief turn into anger and determination, man, it gives me chills every damn time! All the kudos to Jennifer Lawrence.

Ailene Evangelista

Also - Plutarch wasn't the original Game maker. This was his first time in that role.... he volunteered because he was part of the rebellion.

Jenn

YAY easily one of the best sequels ever made!!!! So freakin' good!

Ailene Evangelista

Love this movie! A couple notes for context - Cinna was part of the rebellion which is why he made her the Mockingjay dress. It's also why he was killed. Snow knew he supported the rebellion at that point.

Jenn

ahh love that by Peeta! and yeah we got confused between Seneca and Cinna lol

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Peeta was the one who painted Rue on the floor during evaluations. Seneca Crane was the game maker in the first film. The beard guy. He was the dummy Katniss hung.

F.O.T. Snax (Michelle)

Seneca Crane was the Gamemaker in the first film that failed President Snow and was forced to eat the berries at the end.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I’ve seen this so many times I don’t even need to sync up, I can just close my eyes and see exactly what you’re seeing 😭 This is my personal favorite of the bunch.

Storm

FYI Seneca Crane (the dummy that Katniss hung) was the last game maker with the crazy beard. She was making a statement! And Rue was painted by Peeta - it was like a statement as well towards the capitol.

Alex Ocean

In the previous Quarter Quell, they had 48 tributes instead of 24. That was the Hunger Game that Haymitch won.

Steffen Eide

Let's keep these coming! I screamed 🔥🔥

thank u next

Yes! Love this one! RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman, greatest actor

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Fuck yeah! Made my day!

Alex Ocean

Let’s go! This was my favorite of the franchise 🤩
