Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

I think you have to remember this series took place in a world pre-2016 so shame, accountability & ethics still had a role in US society. What I mean by that is there was a standard that the mere appearance of a conflict of interest or impropriety meant someone had to fall on their sword for the sake of integrity personal & professional alike. While we as an audience know the truth that Hank is 100% innocent: in world there would be no question people who would believe Hank was in on it. Most prosecutors or DA's would balk/hesitate at prosecuting Walt simply because if they have even a miniscule amount of doubt about Hank with all their professional training they know a jury would have a better than 50% chance at having reasonable doubt especially without massive direct/physical evidence of Walt's guilt. In a lot of ways to use Hank's investigation someone would have to paid a price such as losing their job to bolster their credibility otherwise Walt's defense could be he let a personal beef get so out of hand that now he is using the government to settle the score especially if Hank was allowed to keep his job. . If Hank lost his job in the mind of the jury they would see Hank falling on his sword & wonder who would risk everything if there wasn't a firm belief Walt was guilty?

I think Walt kept the book on hand like that, not because he wanted to get caught, but the same reason almost every misfortune has fallen on this show: Walt's massive ego. Gale was one of the few people who actually worshipped and treated Walt with the reverence he thought he deserved when he was screaming at Skyler about the watch that Jesse gave him and the like, so he kept that reminder of someone who appreciated how great he is close at hand.

Pudgey seems to have the idea that Walt has some conscious or subconscious desire to be caught, referring to the book that Hank found. I don't think so, he had just become complacent, like people do over time. Walt had been getting away with covering up his activities for so long, he simply got careless. A book of poems in his house...so what, right? Skyler had even said she wasn't aware of it. I enjoyed the building suspense in those scenes when Walter can't find the book. At first he dismisses it, but then you see his gradual realization of what it could mean, as he pieces things together, and which eventually leads him to check under his car and find Hank's tracking device.

From the last couple of episodes, I think Pudgey has been spoiled/told future events. Some of the comments with no back up do not feel genuine. Hope I’m wrong/paranoid. Still really enjoy the reactions/analysis.

I recommend you guys watch the bloopers after you finish the series... it's so refreshing to see them laughing and smiling.

Marie is mental for trying to kidnap someone’s baby, it doesn’t matter why , you can’t do that .

JonSnow21

hunger games or death note as well?

Also I don't think Skyler's motivations have changed significantly. Her reasoning for not going to the police when she first found out: "I can't see why I should lay all this on my family when things may resolve themselves on their own... without anyone else knowing."

Munir

These episodes are on another level, but I don't think it's accurate to say the discussions are only now GoT level. The morally grey characters and nuanced situations have been there since the start. It's only now at a peak b/c the stakes and intensity are higher than ever, with seasons worth of buildup paying off.

Jesse's character was written to garner sympathy. Vince Gilligan mentioned that in a 10 year reunion with the cast... Hank could be complicit after the fact if they found out he knew and said nothing. Once anyone found out it was Walt, they would immediately think that Hank knew. As much as we may like Hank or Jesse, they can't stand each other... Will be interesting to see if they can bond together to put away Walt. To be continued... I was definitely torn up with Skyler and Marie and then Marie taking Holly. Skyler did not give away anything. She said she was sorry to Marie but not what she was sorry for. For knowing? For not saying anything? For protecting Walt? Not much to go on from her either. You guys did great with catching that Lydia set up for Todd's uncle and company to do away with Declans crew. I didn't catch it the first time I saw it. I was so caught up in the show I didn't connect those dots. Oh and the cancer, I believe Skyler might have said something to Hank, but when he told her Walts cancer was back, she became upset and had sympathy for Walt.

Now Hank is the evil one for trying to catch a murdering criminal drug lord. What a nice guy Walt is that he would not kill his brother in law. That makes him a great person. Also why do you think Saul brings that even up. Because he saw what Walt is capable off and already did to people who were in his way like the 9 prisoners or Mike. Also thank god Hank is obsessed with trying to catch criminal. Is it now his fault that he gets hurt because he tries to catch bad people or the criminals fault. You could say Hank should be prepared to get hurt. But it is definitely not his fault when he gets hurt. It’s the persons fault that hurts him

Walt is definitely a darker grey like Daemon Targaryen or Jaime but not black …That’s like Ramsay or joffrey who are pure evil and take pleasure in causing pain.

JonSnow21

No idea how anyone likes marie after she tries to literally kidnap a baby , I’ve never liked her but completely hated her after that and there’s literally no excuse for that…Also do yall see how walt would never harm hank and scoffs at Saul suggesting it and Hank is kind of like the opposite of Walt in terms of that he would do anything to catch Walt as he’s obsessed with the case and Spartan you won the last discussion but Pudgey took this one bc you’re kinda acting like Walt didn’t try to protect hank at every turn , yes we know he’s a meth cook which is a crime but he literally risked his entire family’s life to help hank last season and alot of it is to do with Hank’s obsession with catching Heisenberg soo it’s hank’s fault alot of the time not gonna lie.

JonSnow21

I agree with Spartan in the discussion. You can’t really compare the characters. All of them have flaws. But they are still very different. Some character flaws are obviously way bigger than others. For example Jesses situation is very different from Skylar or Hank. Also just saying all characters are grey is a little bit oversimplified and makes it seem like they are the same. If you want to do that analogy Walt would be near dark while Skylar is more close to white.

Walter buries his money in the Tohajiilee Indian Reservation in New Mexico, which is the same site as his first cooking session with Jesse ( Pilot ). As Skyler enters the diner to meet with Hank, the word "Alibi" can be read on the magazine rack. The Alibi is an alternative weekly newspaper that's been running in Albuquerque since the early-to-mid '90s. Shots showing the Alibi have been visible in previous episodes, as well.

Jackhammer

The constant sympathy Jesse gets is insane to me. saying"Why is he in this situation" is an insane statement to say about a drug dealer being in a police station lol he is literally a drug dealer and certified murderer, who tried to get recovering people back on meth because he was having an off week. he is a terrible human, just as most in the show. just cause he cries about it afterwards, it doesn't make him a good person. but anyways great reaction per usual. no matter how you think these next episode are gonna go, you aint gonna believe how they go.

Leroy

The spot Walt buries the money in is the location they first cooked at. Good catch! Spartan is right though, Merkert who was Schrader's boss got fired for nearly the exact same thing, having Gus right under his nose. Someone has to take the fall. This is that same situation but to an even further degree

Marie trying to take baby Holly- her kleptomania has no bounds... It's ironic because Skyler would hold Marie accountable for any wrong doing in season 1 and now Skyler's laundering for a meth empire... Now Marie's the voice of reason- how the turntables. I thought Skyler looked like Harley Quinn in that scene in the bedroom as well. It's amazing how Skyler was wishing for the cancer to return, but when she found out it did from Walt after he collapsed, she had a delicate change of heart. This show is so true to life. When put in the face of impossible situations we often act out differently then how we imagined we would. Fun fact: the coordinates for Walt's money is the coordinates for ABQ studios, where the show was produced. They didn't want fans digging holes in the desert looking for Easter eggs and whatnot
