AND there’s no blue meth w.o walt anyhow, jesse could never generate 5 mil by himself

He only brought Jesse back to save Hank from Jesse's legal retribution after Hank sent him to the hospital. Even after that, things were good with Gus for a while... until Jesse found out who killed the kid.

2024-01-29 03:57:30 +0000 UTCI hate to defend Walt but the only reason he sabotaged Gale to get Jesse back in the fold was because otherwise Jesse was gonna ruin Hank's life with a lawsuit after Hank sent him to the hospital. Walt was MUCH happier working with a reliable professional like Gale. That was the sweet spot, the time when he was in good with Gus and making a fuckton of money. Even after he brought Jesse back, things were good with Gus for a while (that's when Gus invited him for dinner)... until Jesse decided to take revenge for the killing of that kid.

2024-01-29 01:43:18 +0000 UTCWalter was working with Gale in the middle of season 3. He intentionally sabotaged Gale just because he wanted to work with Jesse instead. Because Gale was almost an equal in chemistry expertise to Walter and his ego couldn't handle it, plus he can bully Jesse into doing what he wants. He's subtly manipulated previous events to do away with anyone who is an equal to him or above him. Mike was right to call him out.

You two even mentioned how bored Walt seemed to be right before he ran over the drug dealers. Jesse is FAR from perfect, but on re watch it becomes even more clear that Walt was pretty fucked up from the start and pulls out all the abusive relationship tricks on him the whole time. The game makes him feel alive for the first time and when him and Gale were cooking for Gus he was bored.

At this point of the show, for some reason a lot of reactors forget that Walter didn’t just blow up the whole operation for no reason. If Walt had just acted upon his self interest and let Jessie die, maybe things would have turned out differently. Who know? Maybe Walt’s ego would have still got in the way (Mike isn’t wrong about that) but everything was fine for Walt regarding to his relationship with Gus except for Jessie
