Season 3 Walt: We can't cook, there is fly contaminating the lab. Season 5 Walt: Insect infested house? Perfect.

Joseph Collier

The whole point of the show is playing with the line of morality. We all hate Walt and simultaneously kind of root for him. Every character has motives good or bad justifiable or not, and they constantly ebb and flow all over. You guys are doing great and picking up on so much more than I did my first run through.

David Katula

🤣💪🏼

CpaSpartan Pudgey

I love you guys lil domestics at the start 😂😂 reminds me of me and my husband

Natalie-Anne

Interesting. I have never seen one, but I live in the northeast which doesn't have near as many insects that they do in the southwest. And the size of the cockroaches are huge too yuck.

Lyn Hurst

It's pretty common to see tented houses here in USA.

Daniel

I think people have a tendency to discount certain scenarios wherein Walt really put his own skin on the line for Jesse, but because Jesse shows a lot more trauma and post-event focus from these events there is more forgiveness and sympathy given to it, and the show highlights it more so those stick out more to viewers than Walts actions when they have been instances of showing true care for him. There relationship is unhealthy, imbalanced, and problematic in a lot of ways but that doesn't change the fact Walt has indeed shown numerous times in the show he does care about Jesse even if Walt doesn't handle or express it in a good way half the time. Not unlike with his family life at home. Walt and Jesse are *both* broken people that cause general destruction to those around them. That is a big part of the point of all this stuff being shown about crime and the meth business and the lies and the greed and everything else going on.

SuddenImpulse

'Walt never cared for Jesse'. The number of times I hear this from BB reactors still astounds me...The biases this show creates result in a lot of complete character misjudgments.

Hari Randhawa

Lol I think dead mackerel eyes could apply to him as well.

Lyn Hurst

😂

Lyn Hurst

I meant to address your reactions at the beginning regarding 5x2. Walt was coming on to Skyler, which was not just inappropriate but appeared he was going to rape her. Maybe some people here who have never been in a similar situation with a threatening person can't relate, but it is terrifying being a potential victim whether of violence or rape and any other abuse. Even if she should have said leave me alone Walt, she is completely intimidated by him and he has been using verbal and psychological means to control her and keep her in her place.

Lyn Hurst

Yeah this really bothered me with the fandom, I love Skylar and did do pretty early on on first watch. Her scene with Ted and the IRS guy is one of the coolest moments in the show for me. The hate against her and worse the actor by the fandom made me really sad.

lemmy

I had faith in both of you guys that you'd empathize at least a little with Skylar because you guys are generally pretty empathetic and give characters chances and try to understand them, and you exceeded my expectations with Skylar, you were probably the most empathetic reactors I've ever seen when it came to this show which I very much appreciate. So many just bash her and don't even bother to understand or be in her shoes until it's almost the end of the show, but you guys clocked what she was dealing with, even when pointing out her mistakes.

connie

He didn't like Jesse being with Jane because she was literally going to kill him.

Gemineye

I love Spartan pointing out that he sympathizes with and understands Skylar when I remember her being the most hated character online when it first aired. Never understood why personally, but yeah, the irony lol.

Ailene Evangelista

Perfectly underwhelming introduction of one of this storys biggest devils: Todd Alquist.

DrückebergerTV

Unfortunately I think the point of that scene kinda went over some heads lol

SuddenImpulse

Yeah Walt definitely has emotions for Jesse. But that whole dialogue in this episode was literally Walt straight up lying and covering up his plan. He is literally manipulating Jesse with the whole Brock story.

Rey Jr

Walt cares for Jessie like his eldest son. Walt is always giving him advice and helping him. You guys are just tying to see a play in every piece of dialogue when its Walt just caring. Walt likes to mentor Jessie like its his own son the problem is he doesn't realize when he's giving Walt advice or Heisenberg advice, they have become blurred for him but we the audience can see it.

Alex

That won’t be the case. They appreciate good written characters. Btw what are the other 9 greatest seasons ?

Rey Jr

All I'll say is don't let your dislike for Walt keep you from enjoying one of the 10 greatest seasons of television ever created.

Charlie Kelly

🤣🙏🏼

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Top season, glad you guys reacted I love the Aussie accents.

Zachary Singa

Walt went from obsessing over one fly to cooking in infested houses

Munir

I don’t get why people think you can’t criticise Walt in season 1-4. yeah in season 5 he is different. But he already did so much bad shit already in the first 4 seasons

Rey Jr

Walt kinda snapped at the end of s4 , you can literally tell how much more genuine he was even though he was not a good guy but grey , I hate how yall are acting like he was always this bad when he wasn’t , even if it was always in him , he was not that person yet and Pudgey pls stop acting like you were always right or understanding of his character, you literally been overly biased against his character since halfway through s3 and when he saved jesse’s life 3 different times u barely acknowledge it or when he says if u kill jesse u don’t have me , u don’t care but if jesse said that you would act like he’s the best guy alive , all im saying is don’t try to justify your opinions now when he’s clearly alot worse than he was , also why do u get mad when Walt says his plans, he’s smarter than mike and jesse combined, I don’t even like walt in s5 but I’ve always appreciated his genius.

JonSnow21

Walt outsmarted gus with way less power and exploited his weekness , he’s smarter than gus

JonSnow21

Great episode. The comments Walt made about Victor are not completely clear yet. We know Walt didn't like Jesse being with Jane because he couldn't control him. I am wondering if it is that with Andrea or about Brock and Jesse potentially learning Walt poisoned him. Skyler is in a bad place while trying to protect her kids being unable to tell Marie what's going on with Walt. Walt killing Gus and bombing a nursing home is scaring Skyler because she knows what he is capable of. Jesse knows Walt is all about his ego. He noticed that again after Walt talked about the Victor situation.

Lyn Hurst

He literally had one line in this episode can't we leave these kinda insights into his character until they've seen a bit more?

lemmy

I'll admit I've got a little irritated with some people's talking about Walt with hindsight and chastising you from taking his side as its not really intended to be parsed that way on first watch, but it can't be helped to an extent as people's perceptions are coloured by the whole show and hindsight is 20/20 but i wish people would have pretended a little more. On a rewatch though you realize he's always had a lot of this from the start, the distainful way he's treat Jesse throughout calling him stupid and chastising him for everything and everything, we laughed along but really it was quite toxic and cruel. Then turning down the money from Elliot and Gretchen yet making meth and putting his family in danger, the pride and ego making him turn down charity and doing something like this instead just so he could have done it himself rather than accept help from others. Its more obvious on a second watch its not just coloured by what's come after but once you come to recognize the ego driven and manipulative 'Heisenburg' in full force as he is in these episodes, you see him there just under the surface from the start, his behaviour throughout seems more obviously self-centred and you see a bit of Heisenberg just buried under the surface just subdued due to him lacking the confidence to come out properly, but first time around you're inclined to be on his side due to the cancer and his timid nature and are cheering him on when he does these cool badass things and so on. He has his moments where you have sympathy and see a bit of genuine humanity still of course, but yeah I think you'd be surprised what a dick Walt comes off from pretty much episode 1 on a rewatch.

lemmy

All Hail King HeisenSpartan 🙏🙏

Lennie from Denmark

Mike is the only one who can put Walt in his place. Extremely satisfying. Walt wants to be Gus so badly, but he isn't nearly as patient or competent.

Kevin Anand

That scene where Skinny Pete is playing the keyboard is actually Charles Baker, his actor, playing piano. He's a very talented pianist in real life

Pogger White

In an interview Jesse Plemons said the only information on Todd he was given prior to shooting was from a writer who told him: "you know when you're driving & a deer pops out on the road in front you- do you swerve into the oncoming car on the left or do you go right and crash into the ditch? You hit the deer".

Justin

Long awaited! Let's go
