We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

Spartan isn't wrong about turn coat. Yes it does mean a traitor (changing ones allegiance), but it has also become a phrase that means to change ones mind (from one opinion to the opposite opinion). It works in this context. "Turn tail" may have been a more fitting phrase (and the one he probably intended to use), but "turn coat" is a reasonable phrase to use for Gus's actions.

Joe

ill say he either dies of cancer or gets killed. Pudgey will cry many times 😂 and spartan is gonna be hyped many times. cant out a number of those lol - Spartan

CpaSpartan Pudgey

She's wearing green too spartan!!!! why do you shake ur head ? xD

Luis Toscano

Razor sharp with subtle details, miss half a skull missing. So there's that.

AdrianF

That's not confirmed yet

lemmy

asdfg5ghju

Charlie Kelly

The adjusting of the tie after the bomb went off was supposedly the actor's (Giancarlo Esposito) idea.

Charlie Kelly

No they dont, it is not worth it.

MrMoleHole

So here we go, season 5. Last time I will ask S&P , does Walt get killed? Go to jail? Or cancer? How many times does Pudgey cry season 5? How many times does Spartan say "FUCK YEAH" ahaha?... again my 1st time watching it when it actually showed, I'm team WALT, to the end! No matter how this show goes... it's like in my 43 years, there is the Godfather that sticks around, and this damn TV show Breaking Bad, that sticks around for men! Let's go season 5!!

allen koch

please, you guys have to watch Better call Saul after finishing the show.

marcos199043

That Lily of the Valley plant tripped up both Gus and Jesse. Brilliant on Walts part.

Lyn Hurst

I love the last walk for Gus was shown from behind and in the end Walt and Jesse are walking forward toward the camera.

Lyn Hurst

AlrightThere

couldnt wait? no willpower these two smh

block

I love that Gus only weakness was his hate for Hector. Imagine Hector would have died earlier. Walt and Jesse would have been cooked.

Rey Jr

Spartans never shake in their boots! treat lightly

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Haha Spartan got it at the end!

lemmy

Not sure if already said above, but that's why Gus was suss about the car. He didn't poison Brock, so realized Walt had done it to draw Gus out.

lemmy

I like that Walt had his own "not going to the car" moment with calling his neighbor to check his house first. Obviously he had more of a clear reason to be worried but it was still nice to see. I really love how you guys switch between being so smart and making crazy connections and then having really dumb moments. Cause then we get those awesome big brain moments and the banter like "dumb dumb pudgey" haha.

FullMetal B

The way Gus walked after the explosion and corrrected his tie is a chicken reference since chickens can live for a while even without a head and Gus is the chicken man after all

Hekz

Maybe it’s an Australian thing or something

Justin

It was 1 yr wait

Justin

Just a quick google search would tell you otherwise. This type of thing has been recorded to happen many times throughout wars in real life. when limbs arent affected and the brain isn't completely blown open the neuro functions still take place for a few moments until the disconnect of the CNS and the Brain happen (even without the brain the nerves can still function). Have you ever heard of the phrase ''run around like a headless chicken'' That phrase isn't a myth and it applies to humans, The tie thing is the only thing I can see as a stretch. But the brain is still in contact with the CNS like I said. And all throughout the show gus has been portrayed in this well kept, calm manner, even through to death. The science in this show is unbelievably accurate, even down to the creation of meth, the poisons even all of the high grade lab equipment to create the meth with the right formula, always in the right order in every episode (making it really complex to keep up with) . I doubt they would be completely negligent to that in the 'villains' death

Kurt G

I remember when I first watched BB, after this episode I felt the same. It was amazing! ...But where do we go from here??? We've seen it all and I didn't have much hope for the last season. How are they gonna do a whole other season and still keep it BB quality?? Can't be done. Boy, oh boy, I was so wrong. Can't wait to see your reaction for everything still to come. When season 5 aired, it was broken out into 2 parts. There's 16 episodes total so the first 8 aired and then we had to wait 6 months for the last 8. The wait between episode 8 and episode 9 was torture.

Mama Browsss

🤣🤣🤣

Jackhammer

Nah Gus isn't dead guys in Season 5 Melisandre is gonna revive him with the power of the Lord of Light.

Ersin Günay

I've watched the whole BB series several times and own it on DVD. The one scene I always thought stretched or strained believability more than any other was Gus's death. To think that, with half his face missing from the bomb blast, he could still walk out of the room, stop and casually adjust his tie before collapsing, was almost laughable.

GYG359

Spartan won this episode GG

Victor Radoi

Amazing reaction. Pudgey catching on to the flower pot plot twist before the reveal and spartan 100% right about why gus didnt get in the car, it was because gus never poisoned the kid, so jesse did kinda slip there by telling him. Great job guys!

Pablo

Hasn't realised!! A rewatch is going to be *chefs kiss*

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Big brains during this reaction. Galaxy brains even

MattyK

Great reaction, but god knows what you were watching it on that you couldn't make out Gus' lack of face/eye/skull.

AdrianF

I've watched quite a few reactions on youtube to this and only one other, a girl from the Reaction Squad called it, high level call by them both

Moonman

Great reaction per usual. Pudgy is so sharp with her guesses. She almost called the Lily of the Valley last episode, i was shook. lol, spartan figuring out why Gus turned from the car was brilliant as well. yall ain't ready for season 5. can't wait

Leroy

Season 4 is masterclass television. So many amazing moments and episodes. But Season 5 is literally next level as hard as it is to believe and surpasses Season 4 as one of the greatest seasons of television history anywhere. Cant wait for you guys to see how it all wraps up!

Vito Pagliuca

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but at the time, the creators were unsure if they’d be picked up for a fifth season. As such they wrote this episode to work as a series finale.

Tim Martin

When you announced that you’re going to react to breaking bad, this was one of the episodes people were looking forward to seeing you reacting to. Walt’s genius was figuring out that the only thing that trumps Gus’ intelligence and cautiousness is his desire for revenge, and he gave that to both him and Hector. Also, not sure if you picked this up, I only did upon rewatching the show with you, but in episode 11 when Gus visits Hector, Hector is watching something on TV involving explosives, Gus sits right in front of it and the shot mirrors their positions in their final moments. Another instance of amazing foreshadowing in Breaking Bad.

Alex I.

🤣🤣🤣

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Pudgey said it right before we see Jesse freak out about the cigarette.... and then switched a second after because of that scene 🥲

CpaSpartan Pudgey

I literally said it out loud.... and then Jesse freaked out about the risen -.- so close

CpaSpartan Pudgey

The cliffhanger was that Walt poisoned Brock. I think you're the only one who so confidently called it so early on lol.

Corncobtv

Good outro guys!! It's pretty cool watching y'all piece things together during your after show discussions.. Like I said before a couple of ep. ago, this is one of the best ep. I've ever seen for any series or tv show.. Not just for the writing, but the direction as well.. The isolated audio sounds of things blowing in the wind, foot steps, isolated breathing, creeking doors.. very spaghetti western style and as a huge fan of Clint Eastwoods "Dollars trilogy" it was very nostalgic to watch. The score they chose for Gus's "last walk" scene, Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone would've been proud!! Oustanding acting job by Giancarlo Esposito.. The scene of Gus in the car as the camera zooms.. no dialogue, just pure emotion. My interpretation, Gus thinks he's about to recieve some type of hypothetical vaccination for the past 15 yrs of rage he's been feeling towards Tio for killing his partner and is overcome with emotion.. Somebody that Gus obviously loved very much.. Whelp, so long Gus.. have a nice trip, send a postcard..

PastaDon

Spartan acting like he found the cure for cancer by realizing Hector was gonna blow himself up lol

DRIP DROP

I agree Pudgey, I think Spartan was shaking in his boots...LOL. Great episode and a great reaction to the episode. Can't wait til season 5.

David Cansler

I didn’t want to mention it last episode, but I loved Pudgey’s reaction to the spinning gun landing on the flower. “I see those squinty eyes, what does it mean? What does that plant do? What can Walt make??” You almost figured it out last episode, but still impressed how quickly you pieced it together today as soon as Jesse mentioned the poison berries!

imperial

You are not meant to know what will happen in season 5. It is good. The Lily of the Valley stumped both Jesse and Gus. Gus knew there was a play coming by Walt. Also, Jesse mentioned to Walt in the previous episode that he could have had Huell lift the cigarette off him when he went to see Saul. I will go no further just mentioned since it was mentioned already. Tio was a football getting kicked around. Tio had nothing left he lost his last family member that Jesse killed in Salud. Funny Salud means health in Spanish. I just figured some of this stuff out after the 4th watch. Good picking up what you guys did Spartan and Pudgey.

Lyn Hurst

Green is Walter's color. I think Jesse and Hector are wearing it because they're on his side.

Munir

Jesse was completely right when he held the gun to Walt's head. (although it was Walt's gun so was it even loaded?) The previous episode reads completely different on a rewatch. I think Spartan was right about what tipped Gus off, if Gus didn't poison him then it's very suspicious. Jesse wasn't very slick with his words either, it was almost a direct accusation. Both of you came extremely close to calling it last episode by focusing on the flower and thinking it might've not been Gus who poisoned Brock, but didn't connect the last dot out loud at least.

Munir

Along with Gus dropping the Box Cutter, I think dropping the gun mirrors him spinning it earlier. He drops it facing away.

Munir

Heisenberg is an evil evil man

Christopher

Gus hated Hector so much that he refused to die in the same room with him. And in the last seconds, falling dead to the floor, he straightened his tie as a man of business, a man of action. This suggests that the principle of his life, which he had lived by for decades, had become a big part of him. But this show is about a little man in whom Heisenberg awakened. And Heisenberg defeated even Gus.

Jackhammer

Very good point by Spartan on Hector being Gus’ weakness. It’s the only time that Gus lets his emotions get in the way, and he ended up dying because of it. Even visiting him in the nursing home all those times was risky, but he just can’t help himself. And Walt never would’ve figured it out if Gus hadn’t taunted Hector in front of Jesse. I think most of us anticipated the bomb, but I don’t think anyone saw that TWO FACE moment coming.

imperial

This episode has the outstanding score of 9.9/10 on IMDb. This is the second highest rated episode of the series, tied with "Felina" and after "Ozymandias" (10/10).

Jackhammer

In his final moments, Gus bears a striking resemblance to the Batman villain Two-Face. This is likely a tongue-in-cheek reference to Gus's double life and treacherous nature. The episode's title could be a reference to this as well, as Gus's true nature is exposed in this episode. The scene where Walter drops his gun after killing the men in the lab mirrors the scene where Gus drops the boxcutter in Box Cutter. Walt employs the old proverbial tactic of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," when he decides to use Hector to help him kill Gus.

Jackhammer

It’s Walt. Walt is the big bad! How do you come back from going as far as poisoning an innocent child? Kudos to Spartan putting together Tio and Walt working together and Pudgey for noticing the plant being significant! Y’all are on it!

Ailene Evangelista

I love your reaction videos to this show! Spartan, when you said to Pudgey "How can you be so smart and so dumb" I could not help but laugh...the number of times I have been thinking that same thing to both of you throughout the whole run of the show, on what you managed to work out and not work out so far... Looking forward to seeing your reaction to season 5!

Oslo

Brilliant pickup by Spartan. My mind was blown, I don’t think I ever pieced that together.

imperial

Hah I always wonder if Walt’s plan would’ve worked if Mike were around. I think Mike being in Mexico definitely made things easier for Walt.

imperial

Been waiting for this episode for a long time. If you think, “where does this show go without Gus?”, I guarantee you’ll be very surprised. 😆

ThatGuy

These 4 episodes at the end of season 4 are truly some of the best TV ever. The build up is so deliberate and methodical, and then the payoff is so earned and satisfying. I have loved watching this whole series with you, but particularly these past 4 episodes. I really don’t want to post anything that’s even a whiff of a “spoiler”, but this isn’t ACTUALLY a spoiler….Gus is dead. It’s not a cliffhanger. Pudgy, you’re my girl, but Two-Face lived in a universe (DC) where Superman exists. Gus does not.🤣Gus Fring is in my top 10 TV characters ever, so I understand the impulse to deny his death…but the show was very clear. Walt won. And about the ricin cigarette….the show has already told you and shown you how Jesse lost it. You just didn’t realize it when it was happening.😉 Breaking Bad (and Better Call Saul) are two of very few shows that stick their landings. It can be very hard to see where this show can go with Gus gone, but trust and believe….some of its best episodes are still ahead. Love watching this with you guys!! Merry Christmas!

Kimberly Moeller

Mike was gone for one week and all hell broke loose haha, cant wait to see yalls reaction to season 5 things get even crazier

HoneyBadger

That was pretty brilliant figuring out that Gus went on alert when Jesse said the kid had been poisoned, which led to Gus not getting back into his car. I've seen this show three times and never picked up on that, but it makes perfect sense! I've always wondered about what made Gus do that and I'm convinced that you figured it out. Also....talking over the last scene when Walt says, "I won".... :-/

John Neiberger

Pudgy is absolutely correct with the clothing colors, keep a close eye on those. The clothing and colors are VERY specifically chosen for representing a character's current emotional state or position in the story. It's not just clothing but key objects in the background and foreground, color is a very important theme used very frequently throughout the show that were specifically and carefully chosen by the directors and producers. If you want more Gus and Tio, then you'll definitely want to check out Better Call Saul after this, but yes. Gus is dead. Great end to a great character.

YES! Christmas has come early this year.

You know how when a chicken loses it's head, and it still walks around? When Gus’s head gets blown up, he does his signature reflex & fixes his tie, just how a chicken would. It's even a callback all the way back to 0201 with the two–faced, one–eyed teddy bear from the cold open. Farewell Gus 👋 you were one of the best to ever do it. Gus' death: impressive. Lily of the valley reveal: mind blown 🤯🤯 For the first time in the series the audience gets to feel what it's like to be manipulated by Walter- firsthand, successfully, with the exception of the minority who guessed it right most likely when Gus stopped walking towards his car in the parking garage. When the detectives are interrogating Jesse over the ricin comment they say the doctors are beginning to think that it was ricin that poisoned Brock. Goes to show- just how thorough Heisenberg was with his plan. youtu.be/hxBzAtSSUHI?si=d03xlSfEU5MpxW53
