2023-11-10 01:35:33 +0000 UTCLike you, I was caught off guard by the ember island players recap episode at the end of ATLA. I was ready for the end of the series - a big, dramatic battle with the fate of the world at stake. I understood the purpose of a recap episode, but it felt too forced at times. So the first time I watched it I felt confused and a little let down. On rewatch of the series, I thought (and still think) the ember island players is awesome. I loved how the show could summarize 3 books (4 with korra) in a quick and funny way. It’s great how the writers made fun of themselves like with the great divide, Jet’s death, how much worse unalaq was as a villain compared to the other seasons, etc…
