Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

We hope you enjoy the video!

What jessie doesn't get is that Gus needs to pay for the lab that he built for them, plus he needs to pay for the property they are on and the running costs of the laundromat that they are working under.

"I respect the strategy, in your position, I would have done the same". 🔥 No music necessary, just the sound of Walt's chair creaking, in a room way out in the desert, with just the two of them. Tension is really building up between Walt & Gus. You can see the gears turning in both their heads with Walt seeming desperate & gullible while Gus seems bewildered by Walt’s boldness & bluntness. It feels pivotal. Walt seems desperate, laying out all his cards to Gus like he's in a panic and doesn't know what to do ever since he got a real look into Gus's high iq plays. Gus places his food platter in the middle of two tables put together, far from both their reach... Is the food really necessary? He knows neither of them will touch it. It almost symbolizes life and in order for Walt to acquire it he must reach out and become vulnerable to Gus or cross Gus. Like the whole idea of a handshake and reaching out your arm to show trustworthiness and vulnerability. Gus provided Walt the platter, not the other way around. Funny since Walt is asking Gus for security for his life. Gus breaks down and his sinister side becomes more apparent as Walt exposes him. Half their faces being lit and the other half being dark- showing their two-sidedness. Walt's shadow on his right side (right side being correct, moral) with his sinister half bright in full display. While Gus's sinister side being kept in the shadows. Gus makes a mockery of Walt flashing numbers in front of him which just feels like a nothing burger to the audience, maybe to Walt too. Overall it's safe to say the scene feels very Kafkaesque!

I think that after the conversation with Gus, Walt had his own kind of panic attack. Everything he was thinking was true, and the only way he can stay alive now, is for Gus to keep needing him and for Gus to succeed at his own plans. Walt’s life is in Gus’s hands now and Walt is never getting out of the game. We all know how much Walt likes to be in control and now he is decidedly not. I think for a few seconds he thought he could control his fate, but he snapped out of it just in time.

I hear you Pretty low of Jesse. As someone in recovery, I would never in a million years try to entice people in a recovery group to use again. However, I did not get hooked on meth and Jesse not only needs and wants the money, but he wants to get high. People will go to any lengths to get high even at the expense of others. I got hooked on something that was highly addictive but not as addictive as meth or heroin. However, as someone who needed to self medicate, there were many thing I was hooked on. Booze, drugs, certain people, chaos (adrenalin junky). Some of these other things took a very long time to work through after the substances were out of the system. But never would have gotten addressed had I not been clean.

Lyn Hurst

Absolutely, Gus has huge expenses he has to cover for his meth business. Walt and Jesse only have to show up and cook.

GYG359

For the size of Gus' operation Walt and Jesse are getting paid good

Justin

'Fly' is coming.... its the half way point of the series. Enjoy it because the show really ramps up after that, and doesn't stop until the end

Cole

Wait till the edit ;)

Easy way to remember how to pronounce Los Pollos - in Spanish, two L’s right next to each other in a word make a Y sound. So it can be read like “Poyos”

Jonny Rey

Jesse wanting to sell meth to people in recovery is literally horrible and could lead them to an early death , that is his choice and has nothing to do with walt and yet yall barely say much about it but when Walt does stuff that’s not even remotely as bad as that , you guys hate on him so much more for minor stuff but when jesse does something like this which is honestly as bad as anything walt has done , you don’t say much , it’s kinda biased not gonna lie plus Walter White is considered by many as the greatest tv character ever , he’a a morally grey character just like Daemon targaryen or Jaime lannister .

thank you, i didn’t know how to explain what it meant

That was a great outro discussion guys.. and I feel ya Pudgey with Walter's almost suicide by car accident.. back in '08 I was ejected out of the passenger seat of an SUV on the highway going 70 mph.. It's weird, because I know I was concussed but I don't remember how long it took for the ambulance to show up or the ride to the hospital.. I just remember people standing around me and hearing a lady screaming.. traumatized I'm guessing because she just seen a body fly out of a car 😆.. sorry, that's really not funny.. but yeah, went to the hospital had no broken bones or internal injuries "wish they had a shoulder shrug emoji but I can't find it.. lol" just really bad road rash and had to get eight staples in my head from cracking it on the pavement.. Nurses and the ER doctor attending couldn't believe it.. I mean, looking back at it neither can I.. they kept me overnight "concussion protocol" and let me go the next day.. the overnight nurse the next morning jokingly called me unbreakable.. maybe a little unprofessional nowadays, but because I was ok and younger, wasn't that big of a deal.. if you've seen the M. Night Shyamalan film Unbreakable, you'll understand the pun.. still got the scar on the back of my head, now my hair parts at it 😄.. Thanks for the reaction guys.. sorry about the long comment, just wanted to share a little.. the next ep. is one my favorites in the Br Ba series..

I love that Skyler comes up with a reasonable cover story where Walt never managed to. You might not remember from early episodes, but Skyler is a fiction writer. :) Also, "Kafkaesque" means that something resembles the stories of Franz Kafka. Think: absurd, disorienting, dark.

Kate

Why would you hint at things that come later in the series? Jesus Christ

Sean van Hengel

Pudgey caught something that must be mentioned. The shadowy half-faces of Walt and Gus during their meeting harkens back to the burned half-face of the stuffed animal in the swimming pool after the plane crash, which now foreshadows something significant to come later in the series. Breaking Bad Creator Vince Gilligan is a master at dropping cookies!

Jeff Pawlinski

Walt hates himself

Christopher

Our mistake!! We will re-render this with a countdown and get it up as soon as we can :) Thanks for letting us know!

CpaSpartan Pudgey

It seems that all these revelations from the characters in this episode are half truths but convincing enough to the people receiving them (Marie, the people in the meeting with Jesse, Gus with Walt...). I am really enjoying how things are tying together with the Los Pollos distribution in bags hidden in the chicken batter. As someone in recovery, it does bother me that Jesse is reaching out to people that are possibly trying to get clean.

Lyn Hurst

You talk about jesse hating himself but Walt is the one who almost ran himself into a truck

Pablo

There is no pause countdown.

30:59 So happy for you you were unfamiliar with the "call of the void" ;)

Let’s goooo! One of my favorite montages of the series is the beginning of this episode. It’s perfect.
