The Legend of Korra 4x2 Reaction & Review

Damn u are right, its just no Sokka for us uu

LordCartanya

That's wrong and nonsensical. Sokka was alive and saved little Korra (with Tenzin and her dad) from getting kidnapped by the Red Lotus. Aang died first lmao

Remember when in ATLA the gang was talking about if they would meet in Aang next life like Gyatso with Roku and Aang?? And Sokka was the only one questioning it?? The poor Sokka is the only one of the gang that dies before Aang.

LordCartanya

Also if you noticed Korra journey of meeting the important people in Aangs life was almost identical to his. Katara was 1st to meet him and teach him water bending. Zuko was 2nd and they had a rocky relationship in the beginning which where he learned to be defensive and Toph was last and she taught him how to be offensive and stand your ground. Toph also guided Aang to the Forrest where they first met. Its identical. You can tell the writers wanted to do right by their original story while also giving Korra her own story. The callbacks are really well placed throughout the series. Season 3 & 4 are my favorite. She learns so much.

Love how much pudgy enjoyed this episode. It brought me back to my first time watching

And there's a sweet moment from the end of ATLA: S3E6 ("The Avatar and the Fire Lord") where Toph asks Aang - "do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime?" Particularly relevant to the final scene in this episode, seeing as she's talking to Aang's incarnation, "Nice to see you twinkletoes" ❤️

Lindsay Mathieson

“Nice to see you again twinkletoes.” - you too Toph 🥲….you too

In my humble opinion after watching this show countless times with many reactors. Season3 is the best, season 4/1 tie for second. And season 2 comes last. Hard to choose between 4 and 1 honestly. 4 had better budget do better animation but 1 was an amazing overall season. Also THANK YOU whoever told y’all to not have subtitles in this episode so many reactors got spoiled cause the first thing toph says for subtitles says “toph: …” and it spoils everyone

Spartan, your theory about the way Korra will resolve her conflict is fairly spot on, thought not exactly how you might imagine. Revisit this comment once you’ve wrapped up the season 🙂

Nice catch! never considered that before.

Brilliant reaction and one of my favourite episodes too, have been hanging out for it. Rare to see such a nuanced exploration of PTSD and depression in any show, let alone a "Kids" one. Non-judgemental and no easy answers. Appreciate Pudgey opening up re her similar experiences, not easy, very personal and relatable to the content. Spartan is right that many share similar traumas - seeing it on screen and hearing about others, can help people not feel so isolated and alone. My own partner went through major trauma, recovery was long and ongoing, but steady. Sometimes I think Korra's character arc bears a closer resemblance to Zuko's, than Aang's - they both had to question their identities and values, to redefine their true selves.

Lindsay Mathieson

Smart art direction choice to have one of Korra’s eyes scarred/injured as a reference to Zuko. Since the title of this episode is a callback to Zuko Alone.

I just love how much Korra grows through this show and this episode is the epitome of that. I really found it hard to connect with Korra in the earlier episodes but in the end I lover her just as much as Aang.
