The Legend of Korra 3x12 Reaction & Review

He literally says “she sacrificed her life” if that doesn’t confirm that she is dead, then Idk what is.

ThunderRaichi10000

honestly, saying about airbender flying, we've actually seen appa and the skybison fly with airbending

Coniston

You are right, that the voice of Ming-Hua (the waterbending villain) is the same as Azula :)

K

Crazy how dark this show is for a Nickelodeon tv show. You watch a murder-suicide in season 1 and now see someone blow their own head off

Matt

Zaheer isn’t the only Airbender who could fly; Guru Laghima was the other one. Zaheer mentioned him when he escaped prison in Ep1, and again to Ikki in Tenzin’s study, right before he fought Kya.

KC

Yeah, Zaheer is a classic Korra villain, good motivations taken to extremes. But if nothing else, the willingness to genocide the Air Benders puts him beyond the pale. I think P'li was the first unambiguous killing of a person by the good guys in both series. Suyin knew what she was doing. For that matter, Tonraq was definitely going for a kill shot on Zaheer with that ice spike. As you say, like the family themes coming together - Lin/Suyin, Korra and Tonraq. And good to see a father/daughter team in action, both fighting well together.

This is just my head canon by the way lol, I think it makes sense and would be the same if bending really existed. I’m not sure if the creators have actually stated why bending evolves so much or not

Chris Mullen

The way I look at the bending advancements that even more common benders seem to have in Korra as compared to ATLA is: The World in ATLA was divided, strained, and cut off from one another for 100 years. But after the war, with all of the communities, knowledge, perspectives, etc. coming together; not only did basic technology advance but so did bending in much the same way. Think of Iroh and how he was able to invent the ability to re-direct lightning with his knowledge of the 4 nations and how they use bending. Then amplify that on a global scale. Or for technology, think of Sokka and how he had the idea of submarines from his experiences. But only through his connections was he able to make his design come to life.

Chris Mullen

bending definitely evolved and become more advanced yes
