Someone who likes to stand up for the little guy, challenges authority, and has a tendency to act first & think later. Hufflepuff - Hard work, patience, loyalty, modesty dedication, kindness and fairness. Someone who has a strong moral compass, is usually accepting of everyone and rarely starts arguments. (I am a proud Hufflepuff). Ravenclaw - Intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, creativity, originality and wit. Someone who is academically motivated, logical, curious, eccentric, and accepting of people & things that others would consider 'weird'. Slytherin - Ambition, cleverness, cunningness, resourcefulness, pride and self-preservation. Someone who is always one step ahead, has a dark sense of humour, thinks reputation is important, doesnāt let anyone see their soft side and is possibly destined for greatness. While it is true that a lot of dark witches and wizards have been in Slytherin, not all of them are bad. I suggest taking the Sorting Hat Quiz on wizardingworld.com (formerly Pottermore). Chris Columbus wanted Daniel Radcliffe for the role of Harry since he saw him inĀ BBC's production ofĀ David Copperfield, which he starred in with some of his future co-stars in Harry Potter, like DameĀ Maggie Smith (McGonagall) and ZoĆ« WanamakerĀ (Madame Hooch). J.K. Rowling approved of his casting and said they couldn't have found a better Harry. Having seen an ad for open casting, Rupert Grint sent in a video of himself rapping about how much he wanted the part of Ron, and was successful. Emma Watson's Oxford theatre teacher passed her name on to the casting agents and she had to do over 5 interviews before she got the part of Hermione. Richard HarrisĀ only agreed to the part of Dumbledore after his 11 year old granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again. Tom FeltonĀ originally auditioned for Harry and Ron before getting the part of Draco. Robin Williams and Rosie O'Donnell asked to play the roles of Molly Weasley and Rubeus Hagrid respectively, without pay, but were turned down because J.K. Rowling wanted only British and Irish actors in the films. RowlingĀ hand pickedĀ Robbie Coltrane, DameĀ Maggie Smith andĀ Alan RickmanĀ for their roles. Several minor characters were removed from the films, most prominently PeevesĀ the poltergeist. ActorĀ Rik MayallĀ was cast in the role but his scenes were ultimately cut and never released. J.K. RowlingĀ has stated that the "t" in "Voldemort" is meant to be silent, like in "mort", the French word for death. Voldemort literally means "flight from death". Interesting fact: Daniel Radcliffe, who's eyes are blue, was initially meant to wear green contact lenses to match Harry's eye colour as well as his mother's, but the lenses gave him an allergic reaction so after consultation with Rowling, it was agreed that Harry could have blue eyes. However, he does have them in the last scene which was actually the first one that was filmed, and his green eyes are clearly visible in close-ups. In contrast, Ron has blue eyes in the book but Rupert Grint has green eyes.

Hogwarts is in the muggle world, but as it says in the books, the castle is enchanted with special magic so if any muggle get close to it they will only see a big castle ruins so destroyed they gave up to try to enter it.

My 2nd grade teacher would read it to us during break times and we would ask her to come inside early from recess because we wanted to keep reading so badly I hated reading but I worked hard to get better so I could read the series on my own

This is very much the weakest of the movies ( im not saying its bad ) they will get significantly better as the characters are growing up the story will get really dark. I watched the last four in the cinemas and I remember little kids wholesale running out of the theater screaming lol. What is constant though is good writing and a lot of heart. I really enjoy this universe J.K.Rowling had to be on drugs the whole time writing this, its so detailed and interesting all the way through. Can't wait to see you guys taking this journey, it'll be fun for us as usual I am sure! :)

She ever wrote letters to Dumbledore asking to go, but because she wasnāt a witch, she couldnāt. Their parents favored Lilly more so Petunia despised the magic world and in turn spoiled Dudley while loathing Harry

And, yes, that is the same actor who was Walder Frey in GoT playing caretaker Filch here when he was a bit younger. There are several other actors from GoT who were in the Harry Potter movies too... let's see if you spot them! ;)

This Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris. He sadly passed away and had to be replaced by Michael Gambon after the the second Harry Potter movie. I think they both did a great job playing Dumbledore.

2023-09-21 23:10:59 +0000 UTCHarrys foster parents in the beginning: Not going to spoil anything, but as you get to the later movies, you understand their motive behind the treatment of harry, naturally of course the treatment is unacceptable, however theres a few small scenes that explain it - Absolutely love the potter films so im excited to watch again alongside you, after you see some of the scenes I can then obviously say more :D

Thank you so much for understanding that this first movie was world building and not being disappointed by its lack of āexcitementā. I LOVE the series, but this movie is a sweet, magical, fun introduction to the world that is also the weakest of the films. In fact, I had access to your uncut reaction awhile ago, but really didnāt want to sit through this whole movie with you, so I waited for the cut reactionā¦haha! I definitely will be watching full length for future installmentsā¦.because these movies just get exponentially better. The next movie also feels a bit young, but ramps up quite a bit. By the third movie, weāre cooking with gas and itās fire from then on. You already had so many great insights. Love how thoughtful you always are with reactions. To answer your question: Spartan, you couldnāt be more Gryffindor if you tried. Pudgy, Iām leaning Ravenclaw. Could also be Hufflepuff, because you are so empathetic, but I think Ravenclaw. Youāll definitely need to visit Pottermore after you finish the series be create a video of both of you being sorted for your houses, being chosen by your wands, and then finding your (spoilerš). The site is so cool and makes the experienceā¦.magical. Thanks again! Loving that youāre reacting to Breaking Bad and Potter at the same time. Two of my all time favorite media series. I donāt know if thereās a time stamp difference between the two versions, but I do know that every time an actor says āPhilosopherā it is replaced with āsorcererā in this version.
