We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

Expected to see a bit of appreciation from Skyler about Walter fixing their hot water problem, by installing a new water heater.

Yeah, I’m sure when S&P ask people to comment what they thought of the episode, what they really mean is: “but not anything about the central and most fascinating character.” I’m not saying anything that departs from their observations on the character—just adding to them. And they’re fully capable of forming their own opinions. No idea what the fuck WatchMojo is. Must be more your sort of thing.

The having superpowers convo between Jesse and Jane made me chuckle since Krysten Ritter who plays Jane went on to play Jessica Jones. A totally awesome show btw that is worth checking out. Absolutely loved her in it!

The ending is probably the best ending of the show. that song that goes with it, is just perfect. I also love that part where you can hear the beeping of the register and it's like a switch. This episode is great the contrast between Walter and Heisenberg.

Seeing the two of you analyze the characters and events of this series, it's exactly how I thought it would be, awesome insights and attention to details :D \o/

It was just an old Nancy Reagan anti drug commercial. Anyone old enough to remember Flintstone vitamin commercials remembers DARE.

Shawn Brink

One of my favourite endings of any episode in tv history.

"This is a kind warning for the people in the comment section that keep writing a whole Psychology degree thesis on Walter's character development after every episode - Please stop! Let them form their own opinion on his character development that frankly we are only at the beginning of. There's 4 more seasons to go and to expect them to know Walter's every motive like they're his personal therapist is simply absurd! Because I know damn well none of us knew what direction the show was going to take during our first watchthroughs." Somebody posted this back in the middle of season one and I had to go back repost it here because some people recently don't seem to care if they are setting up clear expectations and poisoning the well as long as they get to show off their masters degree in WatchMojo video essays

Loving how engaged and perceptive you both are. Pudgey saying Walt is "addicted" and Spartan saying he "gets too much of a high" from being Heisenberg is brilliant. I agree--Walt's every bit the addict Jesse is. I agree with your interpretation of Walt's reaction to the "good" news, but I would add that he's also lost his impending death as an excuse for his involvement. He may have believed he was doing everything out of necessity, but now he has to face his deeper motivation. If he's going to live, he doesn't want to go back to being who and what he was--even though that's who his family loves. I think a big part of what Skyler's going through is the fact that she was afraid of losing Walt to cancer, but she's losing him anyway to something she doesn't understand. As for the confrontation with Hank, I'd say it comes down to Walter being insecure in his masculinity. He spends much of this episode trying to find security as Walter White instead of Heisenberg: being a father to his son, being a provider with money to splash around, being a handyman. But none of that amounts to the kind of man Hank is, especially in Walt Jr.'s eyes. I think one of the things frustrating Walt in that moment by the pool is that Hank is able to share all his badass stories with Jr, while Walt's family can't know that he's also a badass--maybe even more than Hank, who's masking his PTSD. Letting Jr. drink hard liquor (in front of a DEA agent no less) is Walt's way of asserting his masculinity and getting the kind of admiration from Jr. that Jr. shows for Hank.

Excellent summary.

I just love the contrast and symbolism of the scenes Walt vs Hank in the beginning and Walt vs the competition dealers in the end. It shows and proves to him that in his rl, he can not control anything or anybody, but on the streets he gets the respect he thinks he deserves. Love you reactions guys, 2 episodes for a small binge today for us, what a treat! <3

IMO this is one of the most underrated episodes in the entire series, especially for Walter's character. At the end of last episode we saw Walter get pissed after learning that he'll have to live with all of the terrible things he's done thus far and that he no longer has an excuse to continue making awful choices. In the beginning of this episode during the party, Heisenberg takes over again (while wearing dark red). The next day he realizes that he's been rotting from the inside since episode 1 just like his house, so he goes about cutting it out and fixing the rot (wearing white during these scenes). Then in the final scene (wearing black of course) he leaves the sealer cans (and his path back to morality) behind and recommits to Heisenberg because fundamentally Walter likes being Heisenberg more than he likes being Walter despite the guilt and repercussions of his actions. For him, nothing beats feeling that control and fearlessness for the first time in his life. Incredible symbolism of character transformation from start to finish.
