The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies | Reaction & Review

Comments

You're not getting the whole background of Sauron 😂, you're literally getting less than 1% of his story. There are more Tolkien books other than lotr and hobbit.

Milorad

Didn't notice any mention here, so hopefully the videos are still on the way

Luke

Ahh, i see. thanks for the info

ADHDubz

They made a post on YouTube that YouTube was getting less uploads this week, I’m not sure if Patreon is affected by that or not.

Christopher

are the next set of reactions dropping today as usual?

ADHDubz

Patreon had until like...a week ago a tag system up at the top. If you wanted to just see nothing but uncut breaking bad reaction on the page you'd click that and it would filter them all for you, so no scrolling necessary. You can do the same by typing that in the search box in the top right if you want to avoid scrolling. The collections tab is new and simply replaces the old tag system.

I’m sorry this has nothing to do with this video, as I am super behind on these reactions.. BUT is the collections tab new?? Where it’s like the YouTube playlists or have I just been scrolling my life away this whole time looking for certain reactions….

We regularly have LOTR marathons. My dad and I used to every summer since the movies came out. The hobbit is sometimes lol

Also I don't know if anyone else mentioned this here or later but I think you mentioned the oldest dwarf being memorable but you couldn't remember his name. That's Balin, and he's buried in the tomb they find in Moria in Fellowship of the Ring. He and a few others from the company were unfortunately killed by the orcs in Moria years after the hobbit, but several others (including Gimli's father Gloin) are still alive by the time of LOTR.

David Theroux

Not to go into too much detail in case you want to read up more or watch Rings of Power, but let's just say there's history between Sauron and Galadriel and her brother Finrod that goes back thousands of years. This may put her reaction and unleashing her full power against him into perspective.

David Theroux

One thing by the way: there are actually various kingdoms of Elves. There's Rivendell and Lorien, which we see in the first movie and is where Elrond and Galadriel are respectively from. And there's Mirkwood or the Woodland Realm, which is where Thranduil and Legolas ere from. This place is farther to the east and closest to Erebor and Dol Guldur and other places (which are also around the East/North East of Middle Earth). Aside from this, there's also Lindon, which are the Grey Havens, where the elves leave to Valinor during Lord of the Rings. We see this place at the end of the last movie, when Frodo, Bilbo and Gandalf leave Middle Earth.

So the reason I found the first one the best was because it brought back the feeling of adventure that the Fellowship brought. And to me the next 2 movies felt a bit too... exaggerated maybe? With the CGI and the storytelling aspects and action. For many of us, it lacked the magic that LotR brought. Obviously nostalgia was involved as well. There's also the argument tthat they weren't faithful to the books, but I never read the books so I can't speak on that. Regardless, I still enjoyed them and this reaction was a nice reminder of all the good of these movies

Ricky

its trash though?

Victor Haglund

The extended edition of this film is actually rated R, mainly due to the gore in the wagon scene with the wheels shredding the wargs.

Queen Alicent's Feet

Really hoping you all watch to the Rings of Power! Its Galadriel's story set 5000 years before Lord of the Rings. About the forging of the rings.

Glad you enjoyed it! I love how hyped you were for the part where the elves leap elegantly over the dwarf shield line… it’s my favourite scene in this movie and I knew you’d love it too (especially Spartan)! Such a gorgeously choreographed shot + the music at that point… EPIC! With all due respect to the many wizard, human, dwarf and hobbit badasses in Middle Earth, the Elven warriors (including Legolas and Elrond) really are a sight to behold every time. Beautiful and deadly. I think Legolas seems like more of a sidekick in LOTR because he is there to support his friend Aragorn and that story is more about humans redeeming themselves and Aragorn rising to fulfill his fate. In this story, Legolas is more in his own element… an Elven prince making his own decisions for himself and his people. Different focus.

There was minimal CGI in The Lord of the Rings. That’s what makes it look so good even today

Cjay_92

Yes the actor's name is Graham McTavish. He also plays Dijkstra in The Witcher series.

Ersin Günay

Actually, Pudgey, the final way you pronounced Smaug's name is in fact correct. The a and the u together make a sound like in the word cow. The books have extensive Glossaries at the end that lay out how to pronounce everything. I just finished watching all three Lord of the Rings reactions, and I loved them, so I'll have to come back and watch the full reactions to The Hobbit trilogy soon. Looking forward to it, and to whatever else you've got coming up next!

Raven Dark

The actor who plays Dwalin, the guy that saved Bilbo when he was cornered by the large orcs, plays Ser Harrold Westerling in House of the Dragon, the kingsguard loyal to Rhaenyra.

Arvid Påhlman

Despite this being my least favorite Hobbit movie, this might just be my favorite of your Hobbit reactions. Really enjoyed watching it.
