The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (EXTENDED EDITION) | UNCUT Reaction

Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

We hope you enjoy the video!

Have to do a rewatch for Christmas one year guys! You'll love it even more the 2nd time through it

Garrett Serbin

I second all of this. Black Sails especially you'll both love it

Garrett Serbin

You said it. This movies MUST be rewatched. There is soooo much more that you notice and different connections that you see. Love the reviews. I'd say you two should do a rewatch (non reaction) and then make a video on your thoughts for all 3 the second time around. Cheers!

will

Cannot wait to watch this tomorrow and the third the day after. Wonderful. Enjoy!

will

I would suggest you could check out Wheel of Time as you are not book readers, you will like it very well. All the hate for TV show will come from readers of the books. Still it's decent new fantasy story and soon season 2 coming out. If you want to see another new fantasy story.

Thamor

Just to give a little back story, Eru Iluvatar is the Creator of Arda (that's god and earth, respectively). He also created something like demi-gods called the Ainur. Below the Ainur were the Maiar. You can think of them as angels and they're strong and immortal but they can be killed. Then there were the Valar - the first beings created for Arda. Essentially, the Elves, who are also immortal. So . . . Melkor was an Ainur and was second in power only to Eru Iluvatar but grew jealous of Iluvatar and corrupted Arda. When Melkor was cast down, he got a name change to Morgoth. Morgoth was Sauron's boss way back in the First Age (the movies take place in the Third Age somewhere around 10k years after the creation of Arda)). Sauron was a Maiar like all the other wizards. We only meet two of them in these movies (Gandalf and Saruman) but 5 total were sent to Middle Earth to help guide the inhabitants against Sauron. All of the wizards were Maiar and good aligned and each had a specific task to accomplish. As you know Saruman eventually fell to the dark side and when Gandalf died and was sent back, he took Saruman's place to accomplish Saruman's task as well as his original one. Maiar can only be killed when they're flesh and even then they revert back to their spirit form as Maiar. That's why Sauron didn't really die at the end of the Second Age. He went back to his spirit form and it took 3000+ years for him to reform for the movies times frame. That's also why Gandalf didn't really die, either. But he had a helping hand in coming back, thanks to the Ainur Manwe (or perhaps Eru himself).

CDP

I would throw in my two cents (new demi god here) to say I would love the reactions to The Hobbit. For The Rings of Power, I wouldn't be anywhere near as enthusiastic. Would probably still watch, but i think these reactors deserve far better, so if I could humbly suggest a follow-up here -- BLACK SAILS!!!!

jherrerakamin

Vigo Mortensen (Aragorn) loved that horse, he ride with him very much and then he bought him and keep him until his death.

JsonKody

The ability to hide like that (the rock) comes from special elvish cape that Galadriel gave to every member of fellowship ;) Like the rope was a little magic, so are the capes.

JsonKody

btw Gandalf is not just any wizard like in another fantasy - there are only five wizards in Middleearth and they all are something like 'angels' (Maiar) of different origin. Technically Sauron is same kind only a few setps above them, so more powerfull etc. That is why he could take down Balrog in that epic, a few day long duel - no mere mortal could do that. Balrog is creature of about the same power as Gandalf so he basically sacrificed himself, but he won by tiny bit. As I've said - he is no normal mortal and his task is to opose Sauron as it is task of all five wizards. He died after the battle with Balrog but was sent back to continue his task. (and with a little upgrade :D)

JsonKody

Rings of Power is a disgusting joke and an insult to actual fans. It's a complete and utter disgusting perversion of Tolkien. Your taste is awful.

Matthew Bailey

yes to hobbit

Kevin Bandy

not sure if anyone pointed this out, the orcs were not CGI but actual extras which is even more impressing considering the scale of the movie and its time.

Munk

I liked the back story of Boroimir, think it really expanded his character, in the first movie you saw him practicing swords with the hobbits, he was worried several times about them, even when he was getting shot with arrows he looked at them and tried to fight more and when dying the first thing he asked was about the hobbits. I think a lot of that came from him being a big brother who really cared about his little brother

JP RN

For what it's worth Gandalf, Sauruman, and Sauron are a part of a race called the Maiar. They are essentially angels to a group of Gods/Titans called the Valar. There was a Valar called Morgoth who is Sauron's master and was once the dark lord before Sauron fell. He is referenced multiple times in the movies. Gandalf being reborn was him being sent back by the Valar to aid Middle Earth against Sauron

Michael Chase Vickery

The most epic, amazing trilogy ever made. Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece! The Return of the King is still my #1 favourite movie ever.

Monique Vanh

I personally would love to see you react not only to The Hobbit trilogy but The Rings of Power show as well if you feel like it. It was great rewatching Two Towers with you. Gollum is such an amazing character, and considering he is a CGI creature done in motion capture, what an amazing tour de force that is. Can't wait for the final movie, it's gonna be spectacular. It is the only one of the three I saw in theatre and wow, never saw anything on that scale since then, I'm still waiting for a movie as epic as The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Thank you guys!

Lise

They clearly haven't read the books so I don't think the lore is gonna be a problem for them, and to be honest as both a fan of the books and the Petyer Jackson movies I really enjoyed the Rings of power. I would love for them to react to it.

Lise

Yes watch the hobbit, not as good but still a good watch

trent sutton

you have to watch the hobbit after if you like the dwarv humor haha

Nils Rose

These movies are a BEAST to edit and even more harderd to get uploaded on Youtube without any issues. But i would think we will get the uncut version by the end of this week. At least, thats my hope...

Petteri Ahlberg

when is the third movie coming?

Eshwar Tangirala

Yeah nah that series was not good, the end of the season showed a little promise maybe. But not as good as it should of and could of been

Eshwar Tangirala

Pudgey, he is Billy Butcher lol. Was hoping to hear y'all pick up on that.

Kevin Conlin

Right, but they don’t even say that in the films or captions.

F.O.T. Snax (Michelle)

The series kind of craps all over the lore though? Personally I did not think it was good at all except for like...2 characters, but its about what the community wants, not me. :P

SuddenImpulse

I don’t think it was slow at all

SnorlaX

I'm also curious if they're considering doing rings of power. Even though it's a bit slow at times I think they'll enjoy it. I most liked seeing all the places in full glory that are mentioned in LOTR. Like Moria and Numerdor.

Dasypodidae

They could consider making the copyright hell movies patreon only (or even full length only) until they have more resources for making youtube edits. That way our movie wishes can be fulfilled as fast as possible ;)

Dasypodidae

Which poll? I haven't seen a movie poll from S&P.

Dasypodidae

The only thing with the hobbit is do not compare it to LOTR. For me the hobbit films are enjoyable films

Cjay_92

please consider watching Rings Of Power on Amazon. if you like LOTR lore at all, this series is good i promise!

SnorlaX

feels like the author was comparing this book to reaal life. shouldnt cut down trees for industrial and metal and pollution.

SnorlaX

Their primary name is actually Nazgûl-birds. Probably why people get them confused with Nazgûls.

Lyle

The wraiths/ringwraiths are the black riders from the first movie, and they are also known as Nazgûl. They are the ones that do the high-pitched shrieks. The “dragons” they ride are called Fell Beasts. People tend to confuse the two and think the winged creatures are the Nazgûl. But, the riders are the Nazgûl.

FOTSnax

I was just coming in to say the same. Very clear they think Aragorn is heir to Rohan as well.

F.O.T. Snax (Michelle)

Very true, the first movie kind of felt the best for me as well. Its a toss up between the first and the second,. the first was more intriguing and adventurous because of the story building, the second was more thrilling and action packed. The third is also incredible.

Eshwar Tangirala

Yooo whens the third one coming

Eshwar Tangirala

It is Billy Butcher

Mysterion Amalgium

Did you guys notice the butcher

SnorlaX

Merry and Pippin

SnorlaX

My fav battle of all time in cinema/tv is in next film. (i know many people like helms deep more but still).

Rainbow

Idk about everyone else but I think there should be no urgency for the hobbit haha. Just like game of thrones it's spectacle on screen with altered plot / lack of faith to source. Enjoy the main ideas if you do, it's one the most influential books on my imagination and I love Tolkien, but 350 pages turned into a trilogy is disgusting

Alan Thompson

The opening scene with Gandalf is certified epic

girl gal

yes react to the hobbit they are good for new comers to the universe

Stryder Garvey

Nah f smeagol

Alan Thompson

Im gonna pretend i didnt read that 😀😀

Eshwar Tangirala

The first hobbit is the only decent one. I will not be watching the Hobbit reactions lol I'll wait for HP or Star Wars.

Demo

I definitely would watch the Hobbit reactions

Rowhan VD

a lot of people do actually consider ROTK the greatest film ever from what I've seen and it's up there for me. All these films are in my best 20 films ever.

Owen Hargrave

I'd watch the uncut Hobbit reactions if they were to exist

Frenzy

You should listen to the song in the end credits, it represents Smeagol/Gollums relationship with the ring

Samuel Mctague

Also, someone already commented the thing about Aragorn's toe, so another fun fact is that the banner flying away when Gandalf and the rest arrive at Rohan was actually not planned. The banner actually flew away. So they kept it, and in my opinion it works as some great symbolism of the state of Rohan

Ricky

Meh, it's an opinion, and like him, me and many others consider these movies the greatest movies ever

Ricky

The first movie is ultimately my favorite of the 3, because of the world building and the amazing feeling of adventure it gives. This movie and he 3rd however are amazing in their own right. I can't wait for you guys to watch the 3rd one!

Ricky

First grade? Damn I thought I was reading it young in third... How did you understand any of it lol?

Munir

cant wait to see your reaction to next one 👌 its so epic 🔥

Monkey D. Tomy

i've always thought the hobbit was better than the actual LOTR. It's a wonderful movie in my opinion. that actually got me into the LOTR in general

ADHDubz

Great film but greatest ever lol , watch more movies bro

JonSnow21

Great reaction!! I still really enjoy The Hobbit movies, so I think you guys should react to them! They don’t reach LOTR greatness, but that is an impossible task anyway imo.

TallTyrionLannister

I see now how it could come off as a little weird, haha. It's just, I'd rather have them enjoy this as much as possible for all our sakes and their reactions, instead of potential burnouts or frustrations due to high demand during times with big difficulties editing. Not that I worry or think it'll be like that or anything, so I hope no one gets me wrong. I was just... meaning well like you said (and now I feel a bit awkward, haha 😂). But yeah - totally see your point, and I guess you're right

Pat

No please the Hobbit is out of this world bad. I'd save that energy to react to other movies.

Eshwar Tangirala

i liked the hobbit movies but never felt that urge to rewatch it like lotr

Trokdrew

I think the Hobbit would be good to watch. It is not as good as LotR - it's stretched out one book to become 3 huge movies, with more reliance on cgi and a bit simpler a story but I think knowing Bilbo's story is so important in general - it's one of the most well known stories of all time, and it has a character you said you missed in this film =).

Rainbow

Exactly. It has nothing to do with differences between the films and the books. The changes in LotR were good decisions for translating the books into films, and frankly I think some of the changes just make for better storytelling, period. Divergence from the books isn't the problem with The Hobbit--they're just inferior films. I think the drop in quality from LotR to TH is far more precipitous than any that occurred in GoT. The LotR was made with love, dedication, and boundless creativity. The production of The Hobbit was goddamned cursed. LotR was hugely commercial, for sure, but it wasn't made as a cynical cash grab the way The Hobbit was.

Kate

Can not wait till RoK. My favourite movie of all time, and imo the greatest movie of all time. (Not that oscars matter but also one of the three films of all time with most oscars).

Rainbow

the first hobbit movie is great, defo worth a watch, like yeah the story doesn't all get covered within that singular movie, its a trilogy, but you get a very good idea of what's going on, who everyone is, its that familiar world and then once you've enjoyed that you can decide whether you'd like to continue. I would love to see your reaction to the first one though!

A.D

I would love to see you guys react to the Hobbit!

Robert Davis

You’re absolutely right 🫡

faika hammoud

the long night in the GoT series is deffo inspired by helms deep

Rainbow

In a few weeks

Farmer John

There are huge differences between the Lotr movies and the books lol

Chrisiyyi

They would 100% love the movies, only the tolkien fanatics hate them.

Chrisiyyi

havent they watched HP already? anyhow, i agree, the hobbits are nice watch, as long as you are not a huge tolkien nerd then the movies are a spectical

Chrisiyyi

No, billy butcher is Eomer

Chrisiyyi

eh, part 3 is just way to good, 3rd is the best imo

Chrisiyyi

Remember, Rohan and Gondor are 2 different factions, Aragorn is the lost king of Gondor, not Rohan. Also, if you like battles, you are in for a big treat in the last one.

Chrisiyyi

I love watching your videos and i really look forward to you guys watching the hobbit as well :)

Konrad Siggelkow

I'm gonna join in on the people saying you should watch The Hobbit movies. I recently saw them again through another reaction channel, and even though I just saw them I would watch them again with you in a heartbeat. The Hobbit is different from Lotr sure, but I look at it like a different adventure in the same world and to me they are also special. So yes, I would say watch them. I don't think there's a rush to seeing them. It's probably a good idea to let the Lotr movies be digested a bit first, so that when you jump into The Hobbit it will feel a little more nostalgic.

JiaHailstorm

But is he Frodo's?

Petteri Ahlberg

When is the next reaction and review coming out?

Emil

The movies are good if you aren’t a book reader so they’ll enjoy it. Mainly the only people that dislike the hobbit trilogy are diehard book fans

calum1

Love these reactions, i hope you are planning on doing the hobbit trilogy aswell those would be great

calum1

obligatory DID YOU KNOW - Aragorn's actor broke his toe when he kicked that helmet... his scream of pain was real! Like a BOSS!

Rainbow

1 million percent yes! to The Hobbit. I don't get some people not liking it. All the people I know like it. I had a colleague at work that went to see them all back to back in a special screening and that was a rewatch if I remember correctly. He loves them, I do too. character building is great and the mad ties in with this movie too. fantastic!

Jamiefishing7

I was just saying this cause HP was doing well in the polls and some ppl were bummed when lotr won.

Alex

For what it's worth, I think the first Hobbit movie is pretty enjoyable. Didn't like the second, and I had to turn off of the 3rd and didn't complete it for a while. Thought it was horrible.

J_Fley .

It was great watching along with you both. Some things you might not know. When Smeagal found the ring. It slowly changed him into the creature he is now. He became so unrecognisable. That everyone knew him as the creature Gollum, because of the sound he made when he coughted. GOLLUM, GOLLUM. That's how he got the name Gollum. Also the undying lands, is a place of extreme blessings. ( Essentially the Heaven counterpart of Middle Earth). Only immortal creatures are allowed to reside there. With some exceptions. And Gandalf was sent back by Eru. To take over the head of order from Saruman the White. And do the job he was supposed to do. You should get alot more followers, once you release these movies on utube. I look forward to Return of the King.🍻

The Rhymester

Favourite world/books/movies so would always enjoy more, please watch the hobbit movies, they are decent compared to most fantasy shows today trying to emulate tlotr. Definitely dont watch the rings of power thats absolutely awful money grab by amazon and is nowhere near representing what lotr is, a lot of fake lore, terrible modernisation of characters, etc etc and should be wiped off the face of the earth.

Anthony Brown

These types of comments are so weird to me. I know you mean well but it's not like they're out there doing hard labor lmao. They're watching and editing movies and shows from the comfort of their home. And they are making very good money from it. Sure it probably gets annoying sometimes but a large amount of any population would take that instead of what they are being paid to do. They have to compete with multiple streaming services for roughly the same price that offer massive amounts of hours of entertainment. If they upload less, then people go away. And yes, I think they should definitely watch The Hobbit movies.

Corey

Yeah, I'd watch the Hobbit movies with you 😊 They're good in their own right, bit of a different vibe going. Thanks for the uploads! I mean, yeah, we're paying for it, but it's much appreciated - especially knowing what a hassle the LotR edits have been. If you guys felt the need to take a break or slow down the upload schedule, then that'd be totally understandable I think ❤️

Pat

Other way round bud, this is the OG all others are copies

Ghostcat

Meat’s back on the menu boys!!! 😂

Ghostcat

Ater trashing the Hobbit movies I want to say that the LOTR movies are masterpieces that stay very true to the books. As a book fan I could always nit pick about things they left out and especially thing that they added or changed but this was not an easy book/books to convert to film and I think they did a brilliant job and created one of the most epic movie series of all time that book readers and non book readers can both enjoy.

David

The hobbit book has 95,356 words and the LOTR books have 481,103 words and yet they still made a long movie trilogy out of The Hobbit. They did this by completely making up many characters and story lines as well as extending many of the scenes that were in the book. This causes many pacing issues as many scenes seem to go on forever and many characters and plot lines seem out of place. The Hobbit would have made a great movie ( singular ) but the studio got greedy and the majority of the movies are just filler. I'm sure enough people will recommend it so that you will end up watching it but you guys should do yourselves a favor and read the book as well. The Hobbit book, unlike LOTR, was written for children ( not little children ) so it is relatedly short, an easy read, fast paced and much much better than the movies.

David

I remember you guys mentioning that you watched Spartacus. Fun fact, Haldir, the elf who brought the reinforcements to Helm's Deep is played by the same actor who played Glaber in Spartacus Blood and Sand.

Angel M

I am a hobbit fan, read the book in first grade and coincidentally the first movie came out that year and I was very happy with it

James Patrick Ferris

Awesome reaction! Yes, I absolutely love Gollum. He's heartbreaking. I hope you'll watch the special features on your own--they are so worth it to see the incredible work that went into these movies, including Andy Serkis's performance of Gollum. I've been rewatching them myself, because your reactions have allowed me to reconnect with my love for the series. As for The Hobbit, I don't object to you watching them, of course. But to be honest, I won't be rewatching them--seeing them once was more than enough for me, and I don't think I could sit through them again.

Kate

That is sm depressing news if thts confirmed, but understandable

Murshete

Hobbit films are definitely worth watching. They add context to the universe prior to events of LOTR. Not Perfect but still very fun.

Sam EDM

Great reaction! had a blast! I personally am neutral on wether u should watch the Hobbit films, I will watch if u do them but wont mind if u dont

MrMoleHole

Would S&P do a trailer reaction to this movie? Honestly its probably one of the best trailers ever with the music that plays.

Tk Banks

They take a bit of a break during the halfway point. They wanted to watch it in their living room but there are some technical issues with that they need to figure out first before they can do that.

SuddenImpulse

I don't think they would've been doing Harry Potter soon after anyways. These movies and Harry Potter are copyright hell and take an insane number of re-edits before they get through youtubes copyright and automated system. Fellowship alone really screwed up their schedule big time so they've had to do a lot of overtime so to speak.

SuddenImpulse

Honestly watch the Hobbit movies, not nearly as good as Lord of the Rings but still very good. Harry Potter can wait.

Alex

Of course you guys are going to do the Hobbit films. They are very good. Don't let people tell you otherwise. It's not as good as the LOTR trilogy, but they are very enjoyable. Looking forward to it.

Farbod

yea that makes sense, i figured they saw it

Eshwar Tangirala

Bilbo is Frodo's cousin, but because of their age difference he calls him uncle.

John Burkhard

Breaking Bad episode 2 plus LOTR chapter 2 in the same day, this Demi God Tier is worth every penny.

Joseph

A family friend of mine read the first book in preparation for The Fellowship of the Ring, and only the first book. However... Boromir actually dies in the first (or early) chapter of the second novel. Coming out of the theatre together my 9 year old ass could not understand why he was so upset (he was 12 or 13). HAHA good times

Kale

How do you both sit up straight in those chairs for the duration of a 4 hour movie thats crazy

Rekway

Oh lord i'm about to nut

Farmer John

I just learned, mere seconds ago, "You shall not pass!," was a mistake. The line was supposed to be, "You cannot pass." Iconic.

J_Fley .

Bilbo is not Feodo's father.

David

Also you made a great reflection regarding Gollum/Smeagol- how dynamic our emotions are towards him throughout this movie. Also yes, LotRs is too good at character development- for good or ill. Faramir and those in Rohan were only introduced here and yet we feel for them so quickly.

RationallySassy

I love Gimli and Legolas’ relationship, especially considering how much they hated each other at first.

RationallySassy

I’ve been there brother but I still can’t help myself…”advisement” 🤓

Uncle Steve

@Eshwar I am pretty sure they already have seen it, as Spartan is a pretty huge batman fan. That said they really like to focus on having a variety of content for the community now and in the future, so there will be plenty of other movies and shows that they will be watching. We appreciate your patronage over this period and definitely check in regularly to see what new content they have in store that may be up your alley. =)

SuddenImpulse

I came here to say this as well... lol!

Lux Omnia Vincit

Yes! The two towers is my favorite, also! No contest!

KatDorroughMusic

That is Billy Butcher!!

faika hammoud

The reaction to the opening scene is fire I’m at work finishing later 😎

Stryder Garvey

Gandalf leveled up like in the Witcher, he can cast Igni+ now. Aragorn has Witcher sight. Shadowfax is Roach 2.0. This can go on for a while :)

Jason Hammock

I’m so EXCITED

Lily

Its 2am so I'll just have to watch half of it.... btw frodo camoflaging them as rocks due to the cloaks being elven cloaks given by galadriel so they have magical properties :)

Anthony Brown

Yaaaaaasss! So you get to watch Viggo (Aragorn) break his toe on camera in this one. When he thinks Merri and Pippin are dead and he kicks the helmet and screams, he’s not screaming as Aragorn, he’s screaming as Viggo because he broke his big toe on the helmet when he kicked it and then screamed in pain. And they put it in the film. Lol makes me cringe everytime I watch it. I’ve broken my toe 3 times and it hurts way more than it should. 😬🥴 He then had to spend days filming running shots over mountain terrain on the broken toe. Viggo is a legend!

KatDorroughMusic

IT IS TIME!!!

T-baby

Yayyyyyy

Kodi

Unfortunately it's too late for me to start the movie now. At least I know what I'm doing tomorrow after work.

The Door

Let's gooooooo

Kale

I feel so spoiled! I started my vacation with the first movie and now I get to end it with the second. I am really enjoying these movies and watching them for the first time with you guys!

Amber Mary

I am so mad that I just saw that this was uploaded like 30 minutes ago right before going to bed! I was waiting for this since the first movie and now I have to wait till tomorrow to watch it...

Ersin Günay

Ohhh I’m so ready

Invisigoth99

They should watch the Dark Knight if the continue doing the movie reactions! That will make me keep my membership since I was here for Avatar mainly! Thanks!

Eshwar Tangirala

Hobbits never wear shoes or boots because they have thick, leathery soles and hair on the tops of their feet.

Martin Robertson

This and T2 still might be the best sequel movies of all time

TC24

YESS MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME. Legolas is a weapon fav character by far.

Eshwar Tangirala

OMG. I've been waiting for this. I know what I'll be watching later today. The Greatest adventure of all time. With two friends. 🙂👍
