The Legend of Korra 2x1 Reaction & Review

Comments

I think what you're forgetting is that Book 2 takes place 6 months after Book 1. Korra unlocked the Avatar state in the end of Book 1 through Aang's help, and then had 6 months to learn how to control it. She isn't a master of it yet but she does have control over it. Aang was able to go into the Avatar state from the first episode of ATLA so I think it's not really a fair criticism to have against Korra, who's always been a physical prodigy.

Emily

you don't like that two-parter?

Stretercto

I guess Sparta don’t realize everyone’s different korra was a prodigy, from the beginning and pickup things faster than most of the previous avatars

Kai Young

next week! S8 Histories and Lore released on thursday. the GoT wrap up video is also back it was deleted by mistake

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Umm they have finished that haha it finished on Monday so I assumed along with a lot of others in super solider that breaking bad would of been Thursday following there GOT schedule

Jackson Natoli

Breaking Bad is supposed to replace GOT, so I assume that you can expect the reactions to start after they are finished with that.

Eli

Hi guys love your Korra reactions! but don’t know where else to ask this but when can we except BB ep 1 edited and also why was your final thoughts GOT video unlocked for Super Solider but now it’s locked again ?

Jackson Natoli

@Devin The actual rules in that wall of text are only actually 6-8 sentences total as far as the important bits. That said, its really is only 1 rule, its just broken down into specifics to eliminate wiggle room when people try to argue over it, which happens a fair bit. Originally it was not this lengthy and was developed into this as problems arose. The one rule is: 1. If this is not something they would know about from the content they have uploaded already, and it doesn't fall into clarifying extraneous details (flavor lore) then it shouldn't be said. The goal is to keep this as close as possible to what it would be like if they were just watching this alone on their own, unless its to clarify something they are not understanding but should understand at this point i the show. We want to minimize outside influence or knowledge on their perception of the show. Basically, just use common sense and there won't be any issues.

SuddenImpulse

Aubrey Plaza plays Eska. Also, if you felt like you heard that voice before, you probably did. Multiple voice actors are in both shows. Dante Basco was Prince Zuko & General Iroh, Dee Bradley Baker is Appa & Momo & Tarrlok & Naga & Pabu, Daniel Dae Kim was General Fong & Hiroshi Sato, Clancy Brown was Long Feng & Yakone, and James Sie is the cabbage merchant & Lau Gan-Lan. There are 2 more you should be able to instantly recognize later on

Korra is the most fire-bendery waterbender, her dad is the most earth-bendery waterbender lol

Ammaar Ahmed

also with this season being so water on water heavy, I love the different colours of each tribe being different shades

Ammaar Ahmed

Varrick is very ATLA - I love him so much

Ammaar Ahmed

ngl, im never read that wall of text (rules). I don't spoil or anything, just saying

Devin e

I love Varrick. That is all.

Brock Percle

Yeah, i don't give much shit about this show, but i have and do await some moments i'd like you two to react to, none in this season though. Have fun

Farmer John

Also, Aang had a great group of people. The best in their own right. Korras group is great, but they’re nothing like the Aang group.

I took Korra’s skill and fast mastery of everything like this… imagine if Aang could have been that good that fast, but with his temperament and personality. He was already amazingly strong at a young age. Now Korra masters everything easy… but she’s her own biggest obstacle. If she was more patient like Aang, or more “still”, she’d basically be the best there ever was…. That we know of, anyway.

Betty Alice

I’m not surprised people aren’t following the poster rules. People just can’t hold their tongues with Korra fr. Usually from the start of the show people like to spoil the production schedule of the whole show and what the best seasons are.

Alec Campo

Season 2’s beginning is probably the lowest point and where it gets judged harshly. Beginnings on is actually really enjoyable. Still my least favorite season, but 3 and 4 are just incredible. 3 might be my favorite season out of both ATLA and Korra.

Stop. Breaking. The. Posting. Rules. Or. They. Will. Not. Be. Reading. The. Legend of Korra Patreon Comments going forward. Don't ruin this communication option for people that can follow the rules and want to interact with them through the patreon discussion sections. None of these rules were made out of thin air, they were considered deeply and put in place for specific reasons. We aren't trying to be strict, you can talk about anything within the content they have uploaded. Please understand. Thank you.

Please follow the posting rules, thank you.

yeah man, buh ngl season 3 was the best outta them all.

abdulrahman

Hopefully you guys manage to enjoy Season 2, it's pretty universally disliked as the worst of the seasons but if you can tough it out, Season 3 is one of the best seasons of the franchise, ATLA included!

Ryan

I find S2 improves on rewatches.

Lindsay Mathieson

Regarding the intro, Nickelodeon ordered a number of episodes all together that would ultimately become book 3 & 4. So it wasn't like book 1.

Unique

Season 2 is the worst season but it’s not that bad

Korra being able to use the avatar state with such ease makes sense to me. You have to remember that aang found out he was the avatar and ran away and got frozen in an iceberg almost the same day, he also never wanted to be the avatar and had no faith in himself as the avatar for a long time. Plus the whole of ATLA took place in a year time span, so in 1 year aang learnt 3 forms of bending and mastered the avatar state. On the flip side Korra has been trained her whole life to be the avatar and fully accepts and wants to be the avatar so it make sense that she would have an easier time going in and out of the avatar state after only 6 months of unlocking it. I've rewatched ATLA and Korra so many times over the years and ATLA for nostalgic reasons will always be #1 but season 2 of Korra is my stand out favorite season of all (and season 3 but i wont say more on that yet)

Dream217

Yeah I can imagine the frustration of being locked up for 95% of your life like that, alongside the fact they were all powerless to stop the spirit and were admonishing her for wanting to prioritize learning from the only person that was able to actually deal with the threat (a threat she just had discovered was becoming a regular threat to her peoples ships at that, something no one told her about except for Unalaq. That would be a very frustrating situation for most people, no less a teenager with her personality and history.

SuddenImpulse

I felt Korra's treatment of Tenzin was a bit harsh, but Tenzin and her father did force her into that decision as well.

Lindsay Mathieson

To address the elephant in the room, the first half of Book 2 is animated by Studio Perriot instead of Studio Mir, the show's usual artists, which is why the characters all look different this season. Varrick is best boi (tied with Bolin of course), and his relationship with Zhu Lee is great, and she makes a great foil for him as she is so meticulous and precise, and Varrick is... Varrick. Mako being a cop... I dig it. A kinda strange career choice for someone with his personality, but then again in a world where motorcycle-riding cops launch themselves through the air over criminals' vehicles while blasting fire at them, it checks out. Bolin and Eska's dynamic was apparently found by some people to be the show making light of an abusive relationship, and while I can see that, it's clearly so exaggerated that it's not meant to be taken to seriously. Now there's still the fact that "if the roles were reversed..." but they're not, so that's that I guess. But yeah that actually was pretty funny to me, as Bolin is always pretty funny, and Aubrey Plaza (voice actor for Elsa) is simply always a win.

We want those paying for Korra reactions to have an enjoyable time within the community and throughout this experience, and not have to sift through a bunch of hostile and aggressive debating or attacking the show.
