I joined your channel during house of the dragon and game of thrones. I actually really enjoy your reactions. Love seeing your reaction to a movie you are taking on as epic as this. Will be sticking around to see any other fantasy items you react to. Keep it up guys! Can't wait to see all of the lord of the rings movies :) Keep up the good work!

I'm always happy when people are sad for Boromir. Him falling to the Ring doesn't reveal his weakness but the Rings power. The movie doesn't depict it as well but Boromir is a real hero in every sense of the word. The point Tolkien makes is the even the best can succumb to the Ring.

Hey guys,
we understand the concern. Lord of the rings has been hell for us to put it simply. these were supposed to be out on youtube and after 15 different uploads we still dont have a single one working. this set us back a week entirely and we are playing catch up.
please bare in mind we are new and experimenting with movies as well and so these are not on any fixed timeline, but they will be as consistent as we can manage. to those saying no content has been released, our core content which is GoT/Breaking bad and The legend of korra has still been releasing on demi god on schedule + 1 monthly side content reaction. these movies are us dabbling into something new/more for the community.
Please be patient, we have had a very stressful past 2 weeks and we have been working very hard to figure out how to make these lord of the rings edits function for our entire community. the 2nd uncut should be available soon.

Contrary to this belief, as we include all our discussions with the same production value as our edited reactions, it still takes some time to edit the uncut reactions. In addition to this, we have had the most horrendous time trying to get the edited reactions for The Fellowship of The Ring up and running, as copyright has been slamming us. This has been consuming a lot of our time unfortunately.
On top of all of this, we do have our regular shows and projects, as well as multiple recording days that need to be factored in.
We are trying our absolute best and have been working overtime to get these reactions out to you all! We do appreciate your patience 🙏
Ps: rendering a 4+ hour reaction takes around 4 hours, sometimes more... plus uploading time. So almost a full work day... I can assure you, it's coming soon 😊

2023-07-19 10:52:36 +0000 UTC

That is true, we do pay a fair amount to not get anything in 5 days. Heres hoping there is a good reason I'm sure they will explain. :) Plus even though its Uncut I'm sure it requires editing & rendering before uploading. Rendering a 4 hour video must take ages... and imagine if any flaws are found afterwards... restarting that rendering process oof
Anthony Brown
2023-07-19 09:55:16 +0000 UTC
Still demi god members are paying extra, I think it would be fair to not leave perks up to interpretation or at least upload as close as possible to recording time, I think five days after recording is a bit much

2023-07-19 07:36:31 +0000 UTC
It doesn't affect the uncut. This was the whole point of demi-god tier before they up and changed it without notifying people on Patreon. Now they charge you more but still hold back all the content. It's artificial. I forgot to cancel my sub at the end of the month over that. Going to have to make a reminder before this month is up. Demi-god tier is a joke.

MrMoleHole
2023-07-19 03:08:02 +0000 UTC
You can setup e-mail notifications so no need to refresh.
They are having a lot of issues with the youtube copyright/automated system for the LotR uploads, and they don't want to backend the edited versions too much vs the other LotR trilogy movies etc. They had to do like 14 edits of fellowship for example, and might have to change their editing process for that and the future movies so they are experimenting a bit, so they haven't gotten this sorted yet with Two Towers. Its been quite a stressful affair for them.
They are working their butts off to make sure the community gets all this content, and their schedule is pretty out of wack because of all the issues with re-editing over and over again so they are working overtime. I understand the hype and anticipation, just know they are working hard to get this all to you. Appreciate how patient and understanding you all are being. =)

Based on the way they’ve been talking about the editing of the movies, I think they are waiting to release the two towers uncut until they have a completed and approved for YouTube edited reaction so that way they aren’t releasing the uncut two towers and stuck for over a week messing with getting an approved YouTube edit and the time difference between the two products being posted isn’t larger than a week. Just my thought though, could be wrong of course.

They are working on it. Youtube copyright is being a huuuuge pain with these movies. They had to re-edit this first one like 12 different times to get it to clear. You can imagine how much time that takes for a 4 hour movie. Its sucking up a huge amount of their time because youtube is being unreasonable with what its allowing to be uploaded.

Apologies if these have already been stated.
Spartan commented on Aragorn's knife deflection. That was actually real from Viggo. The stuntman threw a very real knife and Viggo was meant to be out of range but he stood closer on purpose and deflected it. That's the take they used in the film.
After the fall of Boromir, Aragorn puts on his bracers [40:45 of your video]. You can see him putting them on for just a few frames. Aragorn wears them to honor Boromir from that point forward. If I remember correctly, this was Viggo's idea and not in the books.

This is just beginning of the journey, the bonds will get so much stronger. I think you should also finish the Hobbit films, no matter what some fandom thought of it. It’s true that the Lord of the Rings movies are superior to the Hobbit movies but don’t let a bunch of pretentious purist knob heads skew your opinion when you watch , and you should. I know that the movies came out in a backwards order but I personally think you should have watched them in the order that the books came out in. A good portion of the audience for LotR movie when it came out had probably read the Hobbit at some point before the films so we’re familiar with some lore that’s very useful when watching the LotR films. There are those who cry and moan at the addition of a new character or their removal when adaptations come along. If these purists were in charge so many of the films we love would have never been made because the film industry is generally not in the business of telling stories that require more than a few hours at most to tell. Of course trilogies and the like are the exception but even then most would be 8-20yrs per film just to tell a complete representation of a book. In a world filled with dumass rom-coms and inane car chase films I am happy that in the last 20 years there has been an explosion of new fantasy/sci-fi movies out there for us to enjoy. I may have a problem with some of the real terrible movies that some make but for anyone to complain as if they’ve seen the worst thing ever made when films like the Hobbit are visually stunning, have excellent actors and production values that are through the roof make zero sense to me. Maybe I’m easy to please, I guess a little of that may be true but I feel like a lot of people are overly critical and some of the worst can’t even think for themselves and just want to be part of some type of season 8 hate club because that’s what the internet peer pressured them into.
My rant🥰

Spartan says early on, “Imagine being Frodo, you’re just some random kid yesterday and now you’re at the center of one of the biggest events happening in the world.”
I find that commentary awesome because that’s exactly what Tolkien was going for in a way. Because of his time fighting in WWI he noticed many young men doing extraordinary things. These boys in many cases were brought to a foreign land and given tasks that seemed insurmountable yet needed to get done anyway. These not very educated farmers sons performed their duties bravely and though so many did not survive some did unbelievable things with the slimmest of odds. Tolkien marveled at how a nobody farm kid could be the hero doing things that made significant differences to such a giant event. In his books he tried to convey the horrors of war, the “fellowship” of war and the change it brings to peoples lives, good and bad. All of that is a fictional extension of his own experience during the war. I just love how Spartan is “imagining” the turmoil and confusion Frodo must be feeling as he’s thrust into this new highly dangerous mission. I also understand that those empathizing questions and feelings people have for these books and films are what Tolkien wished for and hoped they could be used to empathize with the people he fought with during the war as well as all soldiers fighting just causes everywhere.
One of the best commentary/reaction channel around.

I love that you guys appreciated Boromir so much. Many people don't bother to understand his predicament and just see him as a shady traitor. He is legitimately one of the most, no pun intended, 'human' characters of the whole trilogy. So much conflict and regret, but in the end he was an honorable man who did his best to resist ungodly temptation while having the weight of an entire realm on his shoulders. Somewhat similar to Ned Stark in that his desire to stay true to his perceived duty and his people/family was his downfall.

Great reaction! good eye for details, if not names 😁, your speculations and theories are quite interesting.
Yup, the movies are one big lore dump, done in a way that makes them great watching. Having said that, its a fraction of the world that Tolkien put together in multiple books (not just LOTR), he spent decades researching and evolving it, a serious scholar. He created entire languages for it, and script.
So yes, seriously want to see the next two movies with you, I've seen other reactors do LOTR, yours are right up there, so much fun.
