Game of Thrones 8x2 Reaction & Review

Lol that I do understand 🤣

iTake_Shots

I totally agree with everything you said but it was weird how much they showed. Most of us looked at Arya as a little sis. So, although they hinted at it and it makes sense that it would happen and I like Arya & Gendry. I could've done without the side boob shot.😉

Amy Moquin

We were ALL uncomfortable during the Arya/Gendry scene. It was one of the few moments that would make sense irl but to see our little Arya like that was weird. All the guys I was watching with kinda turned their heads.😂

Amy Moquin

Ps...Spartan, regarding the above, if that had happened, your girl Cirsei would almost surely never have become queen! Who would be nearly so fun to hate??? 😂

ArcAngel

A really cool thing that occurred to me during the scene with Arya and Gendry (which, at first...like you guys...I thought was a wee bit shocking to see Arya suddenly pouncing on Gendry)....but then I remembered something which made the moment kinda layered and beautiful in a way. So, in the books its mentioned that Arya and Jon physically look similar (like brother and sister) and they also mention that Arya looks like her Aunt Lianna Stark. Now knowing what we know about Jon's real mother, it all makes sense that Jon looks like Arya if Arya looks like his mother, Lianna. So, back to that moment with Gendry: Gendry, as we all know, is Robert Barathians bastard and he bears a striking resemblance to young Robert Barathian (and as we know, Robert forever loved Lianna stark) and Arya bears a strong resemblance to a young Lianna Stark. So, the intimate scene with Arya and Gendry sort of hit me like a lovely "what if" moment between two people who are of the same lineage and are the spitting images of young Robert and Lianna. Even though we only experience this brief moment of intimacy between Arya and Gendry, in a way it feels like it has more meaning than just a fling for one night. Maybe it feels important because its kinda like going back in time and experiencing an alternate version of history playing out -- a version of history which would likely have resulted in a change of absolutely everything in GoT; because if Lianna had fallen for Robert back then and married him, there would have been no "Roberts rebellion" to win back Lianna, Robert would probably never have become king, never married Circe, etc..., in fact, probably most of the story of Game of Thrones as we know it would not have happened. So...I guess seeing Arya and Gendry together made me feel very strongly how the seemingly small personal choices in life can have vastly far reaching consequences... and it all seems both massively impactful to think how different everything could have been, and yet fragile and fleeting as they prepare to face the army of the dead, because if Robert and Lianna were together, the impending potential disaster would still be awaiting everyone. So maybe its better this way? Because if king robert never had the targarians slaughtered and dani hadnt gone into exile and eventually hatched her dragon eggs, mankind might have no chance in the great war? Maybe all the GoT horror needed to happen the way it happened? (im sure that is what the red priestess would say!) I dunno...just a thought! Thanks so much guys for your wonderful reactions!

ArcAngel

In the books it’s different I’m going with the farcical mega plummet to mad Queen in the show

John O'Neil

I warned them about this in advance to check their monitor settings and their lighting. It went very smoothly, so no worries there. Appreciate you looking out. =)

SuddenImpulse

For the next episode I recommend dimming the light in your room and to turn up the volume. Better viewing experience :) Looking forward to it!

@Farmer John "It's especially infuriating constantly seeing you replying to people and spreading misinformation." Please be specific. What misinformation am I spreading? If you are going to make serious accusations like that, you better be specific and bring evidence at the same time as the accusation is being made. Otherwise, don't make such accusations. State things specifically, not vague accusations, no one has time for such childish nonsense.

SuddenImpulse

@Farmer John How am I nitpicking? I am literally pointing out what was shown in the show. Nothing more. You see the symbols in their drawings, and at the weirwood tree in the flashback. The writers also explained this in an interview. Look, I don't like how they did all this either, they massively botched this show especially the last seasons, I am just relaying what has been shown and told, that doesn't change just because we think it sucks. "You're constantly trying to defend the show in anyway you can just for the sake of it. " You are so wrong its incredible. This is flat out false and anyone that actually knows me in this community knows this is FALSE. Jump on our discord and read the last 6 months of GoT channel discussions. I am constantly complaining about and critiquing all sorts of things with the show. I even said I think 8x4 is the worst episode of the entire series just the other day in the uncut comments. If you want to be disingenuous in your disagreements with me, then go ahead, but its not very mature. If you want to have a debate about something, I am happy to have it, but don't misrepresent me or my views. "There's better fanfiction or season rewriting than what we got and unlike you i can back my claims up and I can send you one of those videos. " I can back up every single claim I make, and if I end up being wrong about something, I will gladly say so, which can be seen in past convos I've had. I have watched the show tons of times, and read the books tons of times. I never said that those videos don't make tons of good points, they absolutely do and are often right about many things. What I said is that they are not always right or they are sometimes nitpicky. I never said they were 100% wrong, quite the opposite. I very much agree with you there are rewrites and fanfiction of the show that did a much better job than what we got in the last few seasons. I have said this before both on patreon and on discord many times. If you are going to be so combative, you might want to improve your reading comprehension first.

SuddenImpulse

Except he is excluding and forgetting tons of context and prior events lol

SuddenImpulse

totally agreed, He was consistent throughout the entire show.

neutchain

Pudgey is now Puddley.

Plinko Zoinks

Nah jamie definitely felt something for her lmao

Abid Ahmed

Spartan yet again gets it bang on she is only interested in the THRONE

John O'Neil

It's especially infuriating constantly seeing you replying to people and spreading misinformation.

Farmer John

Suddenimpulse you're nitpicking right now. I don't know what kind of critique videos you've seen but everyone I've watched made good points and pointed out the series flaws perfectly. You're constantly trying to deffend the show in anyway you can just for the sake of it. There's better fanfiction or season rewriting than what we got and unlike you i can back my claims up and I can send you one of those videos.

Farmer John

It's a children of the forest symbol as we've seen a few times. Those critique videos are usually 50% completely right in their criticism and the other 50% are dumb nitpicking or they were explained and they weren't paying attention.

SuddenImpulse

can you guys do a season ranking when youre done with the show?

Alex

It doesn't help as well that Jon got all weird and avoiding her, and she had no idea why. She already found herself a stranger with very few westerosi supporting her, even though she brought the main defence against white walkers.

Natalija Fausta

Pudgey saying she loves the WW "sigil pattern" how it's good story writing is funny as that's one of the things the billion critique videos point out are the pointless wasted lore building on this show we get no answers to

Ammaar Ahmed

@Jack S you must be joking lol

SuddenImpulse

Are 4 and 5 there as well?

Jack S

They didnt... Brienne maybe, but not Jamie

Adrian

Yeah that's why I'm pointing it out it's easy to miss

Valcor

This episode is easily the best of season 8 but on the grand scheme of things is probably around the bottom half

Sean Carroll

Yeah it’s there

Sean Carroll

It’s not made obviously clear to the audience, we just know from figuring it iut

Sean Carroll

Arya and Gendry has been hinted at since the beginning, I don't think it was random or weird at all. Arya is also 18 by season 8 and Gendry is said to be about 23. So Arya's just an adult with the fear that she might die and would like to experience everything before everything turns to shit lol.

iTake_Shots

Honestly! And Spartan still comments on how “blunt/cold” she is anytime she’s the least bit stern with people.

Gummybear

Idk how Pudgey didn't pick up on Arya and Gendry it has been hinted towards alot. Also I don't think these relationships are just thrown in there. They all believe they are going to die so ofcourse they are going to act on their desires.

Valcor

Did you react to the next episode yet? If I move up a tier is it on there?

Rowena

Did you guys miss that they revealed how Podrick convinced the whores to give him his money back? He sung to them. Funny that after all this time we find out.

Valcor

Loved this episode with everyone having their last night on earth moment. All the reunions, the goodbyes and the celebrations. I disagree with Spartan about him saying this episode missed the mark. He is cold hearted as hell lol he shouldn't be the judge on how sentimental an episode is.

Valcor

Tormund skulling the drink was meant to be impressive. In his culture it's probably impressive but to us it's digusting.

Valcor

Danny is more or less forced to fight in the north, otherwise she would die to the night king in the south. So she doesn't necessarily deserve credit for choosing to fight with Jon.

Jack S

The knighting of Brienne is one of my favorite moments of the entire series. It was beautifully handled by the actors, and the words of the ceremony revealed that Brienne has been a true knight all along, because she already lived her life according to that code.

Daniel Siegel

@locotoko hmmmmmmmmmmmmm… i wonder why???????

Jackson

Cry bro they like John better

locotoko

What more sacrifice does Dany need to make for you guys to give her more respect? At this point, she doesnt know if they will be able to win against the dead. She has in theory sacrificed her claim on the throne to fight for the living for Jon. It's ridiculous to come up with excuses to justify why she still needs to grow to deserve the throne but Jon can do no wrong and his manly decision-making does not need any growth.

Abi

Ramin djawadi is the winner in next episode

Peter Fowler

As a tv enthusiast I'm curious on what tv they are using

Lou Dryka

I warned them advance about the potential issues so they could adjust things as needed for optimal experience, it all worked out smoothly no worries!

SuddenImpulse

Hope you guys have a good quality TV for next episode 🙈

Peter Fowler

"its a bit too soon for another relationship" Idk if you've noticed but Brienne and Jamie have had obvious feelings for eachother since season 3. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Alyssa Dyson

me too.

Kimberly Cunningham

That scene makes me emotional every time.

SuddenImpulse

probably one of my favorite episodes. Brienne face was beaming when she was Knighted!
