Comments

thank you so much! <3

Rainbow

@Rainbow Yes. If you go to the youtube channel, there will be a number of tabs. One of those says "Live". If you click on that, all the livestream vods will be there for viewing. Feel free to reply here if you have any issues! =)

SuddenImpulse

Is there any way we can watch the VODs for these. Am really sad I missed it X(.

Rainbow

Play Tlou2

TheRoguePrince19

any chance on reacting to The Witcher season 3?

SnorlaX

listen to him!!!

Sasha

Fair idea from just the perspective that episode 1 of season 1 relies heavily on game of thrones call backs (lines, locations, characterization) It’s connected to GOT in a way the rest of the episodes tries not do.

Stannis the Mannis

They are definitely trying to mix up the livestream times so that they can try and be more convenient for all the different timezones given we have such a large international community from US to Europe to Asia etc. I feel ya though!

SuddenImpulse

@Dasypopdidae You are most welcome. Sometimes I get a little long winded, so my apologies for the mini-textbook but glad it was appreciated all the same.

SuddenImpulse

@Julien I think SW is an exception there, even George Lucas says chronological order is the way to go, but it also depends on the persons knowledge going in I think. I've introduced people to it in both chronological and release order (which is how I grew up and introduced to it). I think both orders are fine. I am against all these crazy weird orders like Machete etc though. I would agree in 9/10 cases though, like with LotR and BCS.

SuddenImpulse

I second this

Adrian Neagoe

Actually yeah, just the first episode would be good. I think that’s a good compromise, and the episode that really counts for the feels and details anyway.

Betty Alice

I’m glad I still got to watch it, but I think being in Canada means I’ll miss a lot of the live stuff. Boo

Betty Alice

Thanks for the elaborate response :)

Dasypodidae

Since it's quiet here, I'm gonna repeat my plea for reacting anew to the *premiere* of HOTD soon after GOT (not near S2, now-ish). Just that one episode, uncut only, to minimize the work. I guarantee you will find it very rewarding. This is a way to satisfy most of us without commiting to a full rewatch. It's a single a episode, those who don't care can just skip along. 🙏

Julien

Terrible idea. People need to stop fucking with timelines (Star Wars, LOTR, etc). I have never seen a universe where watching out of order makes sense as anything other than a gimmick. The context and creative considerations that go into latter works cannot be "reversed." The entire reason sequels and prequels etc are rewarding is that they come after the original works.

Julien

Super underrated game.

Fley, i highly disagree. Its the other way around if they watch BCS first: they would get all all references when watching BB after BCS, they get introduced to many characters before their climax happends in BB and they would wonder what these Black and white scenes are about. Even short cameos can be viewed as mini introduction before those characters really get their story going in BB. The Story of BCS is strong enough to stand on its own and is not dependent on "oh, its him from breaking bad!" Moments at all.

DrückebergerTV

watching it in chronological order would make BCS extremely boring. They wouldn't get any of the references from breaking bad. Things that aren't explained because you should know from breaking bad. Seeing certain characters show up would mean nothing. It really would make no sense.

J_Fley .

@Dayspopdidae For example-when they can manage to do more than 1 live action slot that isn't a 1 season feature at time (like their third slot that is sometimes utilized for now airing shows like Last of Us), or when they can do more than 2 episodes a week per show basically. My main point is 15 months of 1 IP is leaving a lot of community members out in the cold for quite a long time as while BB won by healthy margins in the polls, there is also a fair amount of the community that isn't interested in it and community retention in this business is important for long term success, you don't want to have too big of a drop in patreons or youtube viewership, especially when doing it as their sole income as they are. Larger or more diversified communities allow some insulation and ability to take more potential risks in time commitment, series choices, etc. Doing 1 of such show per IP is just part of the nature of things, but going beyond that into sequels, prequels, etc. is a more calculated decision with a lot of various factors to consider that aren't necessarily tackled by a community poll. As far as patreons, well, there are countless patreons, so indeed mileage may vary as far as what one is aware of in patreon size. Youtube and Patreon are quite large and I am finding new medium to large reactors semi-regularly over time that I never knew existed for example. Same would apply to twitch streamers. I know a number that are larger to varying degrees, but I'm not basing it on that entirely. Part of it is workload capability (them and their editors turnaround time) and stability and diversity of their community long-term. They are only just now finishing the two shows that got them big, and we don't know what kind of drop off there will be when GoT finishes for example. A number of the bigger channels can afford to take more risks by doing more shows that are 4+ seasons long, or that may not have the best consistent viewership numbers, which is part of why I mentioned it seems like a lot of channels that seem to do BCS *after* it has finished airing, seem to have fairly low viewership numbers. With those situations, other factors may have more weight in the final decision and might tip the scale one way or the other. ATLA for example wasn't getting much numbers when they first started it, but part of why they were okay with that was because it was helping them to build up an animation/anime community for their long term goals, where they didn't really have much of an animation demographic within the community when they started that show. Helping to diversify and strengthen their community (and thus support) long term. BB and GoT are ones that have a lot of staying power beyond their original airing period on both youtube and patreon so they are safer commitments for 60+ episode shows. Obviously they want to do what serves as much of the community as a whole within their limited work capacity and time, but its also a business where their sole income comes from, so they have to try and balance those two scales as best they can. With reaction channels, a lot of people like to request personal favorites, which is fine, but sometimes those shows will get very little traction in patreons or youtube views and thus are not the most realistic options, or rather risky when considering the time and work commitment for them vs some other show. that could fill their limited slots. There are some absolutely fantastic shows that just don't make good reaction material, etc. etc. But like I said, this is just me brainstorming. I just "work" here. The decisions on these things are theirs, and theirs alone, entirely. I am not privy to all the information, or all the behind the scenes stuff like S&P are.

SuddenImpulse

@Abby yeah I understand what you mean. Personally I like the first 2 seasons. But they are a lot slower than the next 4. most of the people don’t like season 1-2 but like 3-6. so maybe you can watch a bit more. It gets better, more interesting and faster. But yeah. They should start with BB

Rey Jr

Just curious when do you or do they consider S&P to be big? Based on patreon subs I would say they are already up there with the bigger ones. The only ones I know that are significantly bigger on patreon are blindwave and the normies.

Dasypodidae

2 seasons. First few episodes got me hooked. Then it got boring, not a fan. Besides Breaking Bad won the poll three times. What is the point if they will suddenly start watching BCS before it. That would be really disappointing.

Abby

@Abby how far did you watch BCS ? Because it is amazing

Rey Jr

No please don't. Better call Saul aint got nothing on Breaking Bad

Abby

Play last of us 2

Yeah not shooting anything down. It can very much still happen. This is just my own musings, not reflective of S&P or future potentialities at all.

SuddenImpulse

Yeah, its understandable its a huge undertaking and BCS is a lot slower than BB. I get it, it wont have that many excited for it, its not that attractive for mainstream audience...it was just my wishful thinking lol

DrückebergerTV

I believe they will start with BB because that is what won the poll, BCS might not have. They will consider watching BCS when the time comes, but thats essentially asking them to fill their only big series live action slot with one show IP for basically 15 months if they were to watch both shows, if they keep the same pace of 2 per week. It might be better for them to do BCS at a later time when they are larger and can do more lengthy shows concurrently, as that is leaving a fair bit of the community that doesn't care for BB, or want other shows, out to dry for a very significant amount of time. I like BCS just as much as BB, but I am also not sure how much that show is their cup of tea with all the legal stuff, I"m not sure how good it really is for reaction material, its a pretty slow burn shown with not a ton of noteworthy reaction moments, of which a fair amount of the bigger ones are spread decently far apart (imho), and I've noticed channels that have started watching it *after* the show finished airing, the viewcounts seem to be pretty low. All things that will need to be considered when BB ends and this decision ultimately needs to be made, and there might end up being a poll for it, who knows. Just my own random thoughts here.

SuddenImpulse

In case you havent started breaking bad yet... would you be interested in watching better call saul, the spinoff to breaking bad, first? You would have to watch up to 6x9 and then switch to the entirety of breaking bad, then watch the movie El Casino and then final 4 episodes of better call saul because they play after the Main Story of Breaking Bad and El Camino. It would be interesting to see people going into breaking bad, with all the knowledge from better call saul first. I dont think many first time watchers have done that before. Its a great, huge Story just like GoT.

DrückebergerTV

Thanks! I was just about to ask about #2.
