The Legend of Korra 1x1 Reaction & Review

Comments

Had to join the Patreon lol didn’t wanna wait for LOK

Austin Kilgore

enjoyed the ATLA ones. Looking forward to this series!

Obsessed_Dry

Damn copyright! Hopefully sorted soon! We will still get two Korra reactions this week or just one now ?

Jackson Natoli

we've just been held up with copyright blocked, hoping to have it up asap

CpaSpartan Pudgey

I mean that they keep uploading on YouTube, just their regular video’s. But we haven’t received ours.

Amirah -

Where is it on YouTube? Its not on their public channel and the patreon channel has unlisted videos

Franky E

They posted on YouTube so I’m not sure why there’s a delay here ☹️

Amirah -

It had some glaring issues, but it also had a lot of qualities.

Farmer John

It's a show worthwhile.

Farmer John

Hi Guys! When can we expect Episode 2?(edited)

Jackson Natoli

Fun fact about Legend of Korra 1: When the concept for making a series (before last airbender) one of the writers had a single drawing a girl in snow gear sitting on a polar bear dog. This would later become Korra, The entire avatar universe came from this single drawing as a starting point. Enjoy this ride guys =D

Trent_88

I figure Korra would probably be more aligned with S&P. She's a little more Spartan's style being more headstrong and direct, and Pudgey is DEFINITELY more Korra than Katara IMO.

Jonathanese

I'm sure this has been said a couple times but, while yes Korra's journey is completely different to Aang's, it's a great story. It tackles mental health, more "adult" topics and a has a big maturity difference. It's very interesting and I hope you guys enjoy! I hope you guys complete the show because it has a huge range of things it tackles and matures along the way.

Leksa

Since you guys have ended ATLA and begun watching Korra. I was wondering if you’d be willing to react to the audio books of the comics on YouTube. Similarly to how you both do GOT lore.

Destinee Yang

I also prefer it. I think its too hard to gauge the size of each group, because some people are loud about their preference and some are quiet and just watch.

SuddenImpulse

Korra is pretty different than ATLA, but thats what I like, its not just a sequel of the „the same thing again type“. And (except for Azula), all great villains in the avatar universe come from Korra. For everyone who is willed to get into that new adventure (and doesnt just want the same thing again), its a hell of a ride. Nevertheless I really love both shows so much, so I‘m hyped to see this.

Pascal

Check out the story about Zukkos mom and you can see the gang again lol

Betty Alice

I know LoK can sometimes be jarring for people who've just watched AtLA because of how old (or deceased) the past characters now are. If you want to bridge the gap a little and experience some older Aang gang stories you can read some of the graphic novels, "The Promise" and "The Search" in particular. There's also an adult Aang movie and an adult Zuko movie supposed to come out in 2025

marshtomp

Completely agree, ATLA was great and all but the world/lore building in Korra is incredible. Season 3 is unreal also!

Anthony Brown

I'm in the minority that actually enjoys this series a little bit more than ATLA. I will say it gets really good as it goes, just a bit of a slow start.

Sara Quinn

and of course is J Jonah Jameson in the Spiderman films.

SuddenImpulse

The voice actor for Tenzin is JK Simmons, who you may recognize as the voice of Omni-Man on Invincible.

Ariel17

bro just to underline... they're called metal benders yes, but they're foremost earthbenders, similarly lightning benders are primarily fire benders

Ammaar Ahmed

I think Korra is a great show in its own way. It definitely still feels like the Avaatr universe to me and I’m excited for you guys to start it. There will be high’s and lows in this show but let that stop you from finishing it. It is a beautiful journey that Korra embarks on.

JT_45

For me ATLA is unbeatable but honestly there is so much to love about this series too. I think it has some of the very best and worst moments of Avatar and maybe thats why its so divisive 😅 Can't wait to re-watch Korra's journey

Effi

So happy to see you guys had a positive first impression with Korra! It’s definitely a very different show, but it’s great in its own right and grows to stand on its own :)))

Daniel Jackson

Great reaction! I’m so excited for you guys to continue LoK! For me, this series improved a lot upon the more mature topics of ATLA. In the sense that it touches on more young adult topics, things that Aang and the Gaang wouldn’t have gone through in the past series. So excited to watch :))

Great first reaction to Korra! I enjoyed the series, although I still preferred ATLA overall. Also, it can be a little difficult to remember names, but Tenzin isn't a name from Aang's childhood. The monk you're referring to was named Gyatso, and Avatar Roku's best friend was Sozin... but we all know how that ended haha.

K

To clarify, the monk that helped Aang was Gyatso. However, the name of Dalai Lama is Tenzin Gyatso!

Katie Barnes

Loved this first reaction! Can’t wait to really dive into it again with you guys💗

Amirah -

You can find out what happened to Zuko's mother in the comics. You should definitely read them as they answer many questions and are important to the lore

Korra is definitely Spartan's kind of protagonist - and her growth over the course of the show is arguably much more interesting than Aangs. Super excited for you to see the rest of the show, both where it stands on its own and all the tributes to Aang and the gang.
