Game of Thrones 7x3 Reaction & Review

Comments

I get the Cersei hate but stop acting like elaria isnt just as evil killing an innocent girl who had 0 to do with Oberyn's death she deserved this.

a k

Yes Stannis deserved a worse death on the show.

J Osceola

Cersei told Jaime when Marcella died that she cannot get the image of beautiful Marcella decomposing put of her head. She felt the same after her mom died. So that’s what she gave Elari, the images that haunt her, that torment her.

Izattyi

No they didn't. Have you seen the 7x7 reaction? That video was out before season 7 even aired.

SuddenImpulse

Olenna's last speech is just iconic. She gets the last word, even when she is dying. I have rewatched this show twice, and the character I appreciate more and more is Olenna. She was just so cool. Amazing stuff.

Jontor11

They spoiled the show for themselves by watching the other video. Why can't people just wait until the story is revealed to them???

Annashaki

He doesn't see Robb as a strong man anymore. Getting married and wanting more for himself than being a strong warrior and conqueror means Spartan doesn't rate him highly anymore, so my point stands

Dashi

Did the show indicate it was a few days?

SuddenImpulse

Yh so the writers are really taking short cuts. Euron is able to be on the left coats or westeros and the right coast of westeros in few days (where it would take probably a week). The tyrells have the biggest army so they all lose off screen lol. Just you wait for some of these other character moves or decisions. The poor writing is so evident when you really think about how long it takes to travel to places and realistic chances of different armies etc.

Ammaar Ahmed

@Dashi Are you just ignoring all his comments about Robb post red wedding?

SuddenImpulse

Cerci didn’t even watch her daughter die that way to be fair. It was Jaime. To make her watch her daughter “rot” by forcing food etc is literally the step across that red line that makes Cersei on a different level than the others. Not comparable.

wilcox2146

Nah spartan just knows how dumb D&D fucked up Stannis’s arc so it’s just his headcanon

Stannis the Mannis

He likes masculine manly men and will overlook anything they do wrong bc they're men being men. It's his thing

Dashi

Cersei doesn’t seek for justice but revenge. The punishment should be worse than what she’s been through. That’s the point of having revenge. Otherwise she would just have them killed and it’s over. As for Stannis, yes he wasn’t sadistic but he killed his own child by burning her alive (worst death). Cersei only punishes his ennemis, no matter the consequences, but she would never kill her own child. At least she loves them enough for not harming them.

Tidjy Lagin

There was no sadistic nature to Stannis killing Shireen or Ellaria killing Myrcella. Clearly they were both evil acts and I absolutely agree Ellaria and her daughters deserved to die for it, but the actual punishment imposed on them was downright sadistic (as was Unella's).

Benn David

I really don't get why Spartan has so much sympathy for Ellaria. He said it's cruel but when Ellaria killed Myrcella who did nothing, it wasn't ? She deserved what she got. Cersei made a point : " We all make our choices ". She made the choice to murder her daughter, now face the consequences. You hate Cersei for what she did, but you love Stannis who killed his own daugther by burning her alive. There's no coherence in that.

Tidjy Lagin

I’m surprised you guys didn’t see the real reason why Sansa was uncomfortable in that moment with Bran. Obviously we know what he’s doing, proving to her he can see everything. But y’all He literally is bringing up a traumatic ass night for her she was literally r*ped and that was the beginning of the brutalization from Ramsey. And he does it in a way that’s cold, so you can see how far removed from real emotion and empathy anymore…

Seka

I agree that the on-going torture is awful and very sadistic, but I felt no sympathy for Ellaria, as she chose to murder innocent kids in Marcella and the young prince of Dorne. She's as hell bent of vengeance as Cersei and this time she lost. Feel more sorry for her daughter, but I can see why Cersei wanted to avenge her daughter's death. Also, I can't really say anything good about Stannis. He chose to kill his daughter in a horrific way. Cersei would never have done that. She's awful, but she's playing the game and with Tywin as a role model for power playing, she was never going to be nice. I do think more credit should be given to Lena Headey. She's incredible in this role.

Love the reactions. Really like you guys working out the story.Picling a house . The journey is coming to an end, but I think in the years ahead this universe will have plenty of shows to react to . I would go for HOTD again, now that you have watched GOT!

Stannis loves grammar.

Olenna died being the badass she‘s always been. RIP Olenna. RIP Diana Rigg (her actress who passed away in 2020). And I also agree with the commentators saying that Cersei did right by her revenge towards Ellaria. Killing her daughter the same way Ellaria killed Myrcella - or even worse since Ellaria has to watch her dying - is the perfect revenge.

AkiZzu

Its a real shame the show version is so wildly different from the book version. =(

SuddenImpulse

Yeah, I didn't feel bad about her death. Cersei was a monster, but Myrcella was completely innocent and in love with the heir, putting Dorne in a strong position. Plus Oberyn even said "we don't kill little girls in Dorne", destroying the whole moral high ground they had.

Shannon Bey

Stannis was a puppet....a bitch really, who allowed his own child to be burned alive in front of him by some red witch. He never led anything, it was always the witch.

Mark Laniel

Oh gotcha, yeah I definitely understand where you are coming from there.

SuddenImpulse

Ellaria has done a horrible thing to her too.

Dname

Of course of course, what I meant is that when you read/watch something and you think a development is kind of an asspull, sometimes (consciously or not) you start psyching yourself and rationalizing, thinking that the writers knew what they were doing. If something like that happened during season 1-6, chances are it's actually well written and the writers DID know what they were doing, but if it's season 7-8, the odds are reversed and you did actually spot a plothole.

Mathπ

They have been liking the season so far. I don't think they are afraid to voice anything. They certainly haven't been before.

SuddenImpulse

Dude, I really hope Cersai got aaaaaaaalllllllllll of that poison lipstick off her mouth before she started kissing Jaime, because that would just be THE WORST for him if she was even slightly careless. Didn’t notice a second vial of antidote in the room.

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

Hey Spartan, Pudgey, honestly don't be afraid to voice if you think some things are bullshit in how the story is unravelling. Up until season 6 the plotholes were really minimal, but here in season 7 it starts getting... wanky. To me for example here how the Iron fleet just teleported from the east coast to the west coast is ridiculous. How the Tyrells fell so absurdly easily is also ridiculous. To think that the litteraly most cunning and strategic house just... forgot to defend their castle ??? And why was Olenna in Highgarden and not with Danny like she was an episode before ? The show writers just clearly saw what everyone could see : Cersei has no chance, she only has one ally, the iron islanders, and they're not even supposed to be the strongest kingdom. So they made Tyrion and Varys idiots who give bad advice so they could conveniently remove allies on the side of Daenerys. Also the rythm has drastically changed in this season compared to the previous ones. Now of course this in itself is not a bad thing, but the way they gloss over important battles, the want they skip travel time is just a way to hide the numerous inconsistancies behind their storytelling.

Mathπ

One thing that not a lot of people ever pickup on is the stark difference (no pun intended) between Jon and Daenerys attitudes towards magic, the supernatural and prophecy. Daenerys doesn't burn in a fire, it becomes a title to be announced to anyone she ever meets, brings dragons back into the world, burns all the Khals without getting burnt, they get added to the ever growing list, Melisandre turns up at Dragonstone to tell her that the Prince Who Was Promised will lead the world through the Long Night, Daenerys finds out that the Prince could also be a Princess and decides that it could be her. Jon is murdered, he has seven holes punched into his chest, stomach and heart, his heart stops beating, his blood stops flowing and his skin goes cold and turns grey and blue. He's brought back to life, the woman who brought him back to life insists he is the Prince Who Was Promised, he doesn't, the wildlings think he is a god, he insists he is not. When Davos lists the many ways in which Jon has served his people and earned the titles they gave him he stops him from mentioning that he literally died for them.

Hayden King

Hope to see you guys watch the game of thrones doc that came out on hbo right after the show ended, its called The Last Watch, its just fun little behind the scenes things from the last seasons & captures the casts reactions to the final scripts! An emotional watch to wrap up the journey, you'd like it!

A.D

Nah honestly no sympathy for those characters. Ellaria killed an innocent child, her own king and his child aswell. Plus her daughter had a hand in killing the kings child.

Valcor

I actually loved Cersei getting her revenge on Ellaria and the Sand Snake. They both were such horrible people, she killed a child and even her own king she deserved to suffer.

Valcor

"Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me" Olenna goes out as a boss fuck yeah. I loved that scene she had the final word to end it.

Valcor

You guys should do a live stream discussion for when you finish GOT. There will so much to discuss and i feel like a two way convo with your audience would be a great closure to this journey

Ghostcat

Man the pacing really is all over the place this episode. Loved how hyped you both were for Daenerys and Jon's meeting and what's to come.

Lise

I agree with everything you said in the end there about Cersei, but it doesn't stop me from liking her. The way we formed our opinions on her I guess are based on our own morality, satisfaction and values. I would be lying if I said I hated some of the things she's done as much as you guys have, in fact I imagine I would have done something similar in her hypothetical situation. I enjoy the contrast of opinions, though. I love that you address the overall opinions of the comments at the end and give your own, this is why I am subscribed to the Patreon. Keep up the great work! :)

Josh

Next episode is going to be so epic

Josh

Words can’t describe how much I love Euron 😅 Such a wildcard!

James Paganini

I mean Spartan does the same with Cersei. He wants her to suffer a painful death. Also if you have children, you would do unspeakable things to the ones that hurt them

Rey Jr

I did not expect to see so much Cersei support in these comments 😳😂 Killing Ellaria and/or her daughter in retaliation is one thing; I can understand how people say Cersei earned that one. But the endless torture…the idea of it made me so sick to my stomach the first time I saw it. Between this and the septa it’s clear Cersei gets off on the torture. It’s revenge but it’s always a step beyond what I feel is justified. But that’s just me 😮‍💨

Storm

I loved when Cersei got her revenge on Ellaria..Ellaria deserved that and so much more...

Mills

"Tell Cersi... I want her to know it was me." Just one of the hardest mic drop moments of the show.
