2023-06-16 19:29:01 +0000 UTCI really wish the writers would've done the Nymeria scene differently. A lot people don't remember that scene in season one where Arya says "That's not me". She literally could've said "I get it, girl, that's not you" with more of a smile on her face, and I think it would've been less confusing. Most of us had 9 years to re-watch these seasons over and over, so of course we remember every line of every scene. 😂

2023-06-08 16:32:05 +0000 UTCNo it was always Nymeria dude. Like I said Arya says "that's not you" because Nymeria is wild now and doesn't want to be a pet. What would be the point of Arya using the exact line she said to Ned in season 1 if this wasn't the case? It's meant to be a callback showing how far both Arya and Nymeria have come.

2023-06-07 03:36:10 +0000 UTCI don't know why everyone misunderstands the Nymeria scene. Arya says "that's not you" meaning she is now wild and free. Same as when Ned was talking about Arya marrying a lord and she said "that's not me". Arya realises the wolf doesn't want to be captive again just like she didn't want to be a Lady. Its a really nice callback to that moment.

And yes that was Nymeria. All arya meant was that she was different now, used to being free in the wild and ruling her own pack.

She replied "No, that's not me" in S1. Look at the names of the wolves. Aryas a badass like Nymeria in anthology. Sansa is a Lady, Jon is Snow, white ad a Ghost, When Summer dies Winter is here and Bran has to face up to the Others, Rickons wolf is called Shaggydog, and in literary terms that's a story that goes nowhere. What do you think Robb and Grey Wind mean ?

2023-06-05 10:46:37 +0000 UTCSomeone probably mentioned it by now but if not I just like to point out that it was Nymeria what Arya meant by it’s not you is that Nymeria has changed and became a different version of herself aka a pack leader and has responsibilities that she can’t just leave just like Arya herself she also changed and she isn’t the same Arya anymore. So Arya made the choice to let Nymeria go and the smile proves that Arya was just satisfied that Nymeria is okay and found her own path just like her. After all Nymeria still remembered Arya and protected her after all this time. Bitter-sweet & yet still a wholesome moment in my opinion. 🐺
