I also rewatched the finale last week and there is a very natural break after part 2. So they decided to split it into two parts. I did emphasize that it was important to release both parts in the same week, we didn't want to have too much of a gap between the two. We suggested quite a while ago that 4 parts would not be a good idea for a multitude of reasons.
