We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.

Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.

Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.

This is true. I think with a few more watches they'd really enjoy it some more. This was an excellently written recap episode that didn't feel forced like some other shows that just has them have flashbacks. Very creative imo.

Just AnotherArtist

oh damn you are right! I always thought the movie came out before they finished season 3, my bad!

Jenny Tolls

It is funny to compare the play to that dumpster fire, but it didn't come out until a couple years after this episode

Munir

Must be hard for Aang but I'm with Katara. They're just about to go on a mission they might not come back from. Better not to complicate things further for now.

KaijinGarou

I think this episode grows on you, especially when you rewatch the entire series. It was a good way to give a recap of the entire journey, while highlighting some of the characters continuing issues that still need resolution.

Blackeyedlily

She said why she's confused. They're in the middle of a war. The next few days may kill some of them, change the world, all the rest of it, so it's not the right time for her to talk about romantic feelings. She has no reason to be certain she and Aang will be alive in two weeks. I didn't like the episode when it first aired, but in hindsight, I quite like it. It deals with feelings and for latecomers to the show when it first aired, it gives a basic summary.

I know you guys wanted a more serious episode since we’re building up to the finale, but the writers just wanted to refresh everyone on the story and journey that have all accumulated to this point. And they wanted to do it in a fun way since the finale is so intense and serious. Also this was their way of parodying the Avatar movie that was so terrible and the movie completely missed its mark.

Jenny Tolls

I also absolutely love this episode and I think when you guys look back you’ll love it for what it is. It’s probably the funniest episode with some deeper moments/lessons. Soon it’ll make sense why they didn’t have a sense of urgency. This is a great recap for the whole show and the next episode is more of the set up to sozins comet. Great reaction! Hope you guys watch Korra after Avatar Asap 😂

Kamau Catching

I don’t “love” this episode, but I enjoy how it has some funny meta moments. Especially when they reached the Great Divide Canyon in the play and didn’t bother stopping there bc that is everyone’s least favorite episode, which I believe even y’all skipped😂 (S1E11 “The Great Divide”)

Hearing you guys talk about your expectations in the beginning had me laughing, you guys really forget this is a kids show with adult themes, it’s always going to be more focused on adhering to the younger audience so of course you need a light hearted recap before the big two parter finale of the entire show. Have predictions, not expectations.

Matt

Actually it was 8 months for the second part 😱 it sucked waiting that long lol. But waiting that long wait made the show feel like even more of a journey.

Jenny Tolls

that's your opinion! But I don't think so. the show has alot of amazing stuff and the animation its crazy GOOD! Some of the best fighting scenes you see in Avatar! And even tho season 2 and 4 aren't the best. Still good. it has some amazing episodes in those seasons!!

Elias Flores

Same I loved this episode, i think it was insanely hilarious, maybe once they rewatch the show a few times they will realize it makes sense.

Eshwar Tangirala

I know

Eshwar Tangirala

Its so much weaker, season 1 and 3 were great, but season 2 and 4 were pathetic garbage.

Eshwar Tangirala

Its a great show, its just nowhere near ATLA just like any other show.

Eshwar Tangirala

I thought this episode was insanely funny lol maybe once they rewatch the show they'll realize why its here, there are so many intense episodes.

Eshwar Tangirala

Oh, don't you worry about the animation quality of the last episodes. I guarantee you will be in jaw-dropping awe the whole time.

KaijinGarou

I don't think the episode was so lighthearted at the core. They brought up Zuko's feelings about his failures and Iroh and they also addressed Aang and Katara's romance. Not to mention the pressure on Aang's shoulders. This is a 12 year-old boy watching a propaganda play of him facing a tyrant and dying trying to bring peace to the world while an entire audience cheers, a few days away from the real confrontation. And he isn't even at full capacity, which is partially what has him so on edge, on top of the Katara situation. Also, this wasn't just random comedy. Jet's death wasn't the only meta joke the creators made. The episode is completely full of those, but you'd need to have looked up stuff about what was going all behind the "cameras" to get some of them. It was the most meta episode and also pretty dark if you ignore its goofiness at face value. This was a recap episode with character development and out of brand new material only, and I think it deserves recognition just for that. Truly iconic but to each his taste.

KaijinGarou

Tbh I completely skipped “nightmares and daydreams” lolol I couldn’t be bothered

Jenny Tolls

This episode is so good how could you not enjoy it xD

A.D

It has it's strengths, but it's a weaker show overall.

Gabriel Barott

This episode actually worried me when it came out. I was like 'they have SO MUCH to get to, and were getting this cute little recap episode instead???'. But my fears were unfounded. So excitedddddd

Cyan

I have mixed feelings about the show, myself, but I still can't wait to watch y'all cover it. You both have such insightful commentary, so I look forward to it. I wish the showrunners had been able to make it more to their vision but it's still a good enough watch.

Christmas J. Seabolt

Please don't pause The legend of Korra!! Like some other reactors do!!! I really hope you guys continue the journey! And jump right on On Korra! It is BAD ASS!! Trust me!! 🔥👍🏻

Elias Flores

fair enough, we've heard good things and we're excited! so we'll see how we go

CpaSpartan Pudgey

oh that's interesting haha, i can see that

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Spartan you said those who watched this when it came out and alot of the shows back then it was one ep per day.? Well not Avatar. It was once a week. every Saturday I believe. And the worse part is that we waited a whole year and half for season 3 😭and season 3 had another break. 10ep first then another 3 months for second part. It was sad and painful 😭 but the wait was worth it. Because had best ending ever! gosh I can't believe this is it...!!!!!!! The 4 parter season series finale!!!!!!!!! EPIC!!!!!!!!! 🥹

Elias Flores

Probably the funniest episode, and I didn't mind the tone after so many serious episodes in a row. They managed to fit in a few heartfelt moments like Toph and Zuko's chat, too. Vastly prefer this to "Nightmares and Daydreams" anyway... Very excited for the finale!

Munir

Agreed most shows back in the day had a recap episode and this is without a doubt my favorite one

Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen #1

The male Toph actor is an Easter Egg. When the creators initially conceived Toph, they imagined the character as a big, muscle-bound guy. One of the writers suggested making her a small blind girl and they were resistant at first, butf ell in love with the idea eventually.

Mzuka

I'm both nervous and excited to see y'all cover LOK. Just know that the showrunners had to fight with Nickelodeon on many decisions when it came to that one—more than they had to fight with them on ATLA. So it may or may not live up to your Avatar expectations.

Christmas J. Seabolt

Same! I usually hate these recap filler episodes but the managed to weave in enough character development and comedy to make it worthwhile.

Mzuka

I unabashedly love this episode, it’s great
