And since this change to the higher tier is new, an announcement was posted to those who may have missed it. I expressly requested this along w others because I mostly operate on email notifications. This is a weird thing to complain about.

2023-05-06 02:13:35 +0000 UTCnothing in our tiers have changed at all. and we asked our community if they wanted this feature, but as it adds to our editing load we had to make it sustainable, because anything extra we get goes to editors which help us out. rest assured our original tiers have only increased in value, nothing less.

Supersoldier (our old demi god) actually has more value than ever before being 3+ weeks ahead where as it used to only be 2 episodes ahead even when it was our top tier.

2023-05-05 17:04:10 +0000 UTCalso just remembered that in the books, Robb names Jon above Sansa in his will (including his title, King in the North and Lord of Winterfell) and demoted her in the line of succession when Sansa married Tyrion, when Bran and Rickon were assumed dead and Arya was missing. (Robb’s idea was to give the watch a hundred men in place of Jon and to get him released from his vows and later legitimize him. In feudal europe and in Westeros, exceptions were sometimes made, as we see with the kingsguard who have similar vows that go on to be released ie Ser Barristan Selmy.) Sansa being second in line to inherit the title if Jon could not be released from the Night’s Watch. Robb discussed his will and the line of succession in front of the Lords of the North. regardless of whether it could be Jon, Sansa, Arya, Bran, or Rickon, there was most definitely a line of succession and a method of inheritance in the north. the other houses don’t have to agree (even though they’re compelled to, having pledged their fealty and banners to House Stark).

2023-05-05 16:09:41 +0000 UTCthat’s also Tywin Lannister set Sansa up with Tyrion to secure the north, why Roose Bolton set up the marriage between Ramsay and Sansa, and why Peter Baelish wants to manipulate Sansa. the Stark name is the key to the north, and they need it to secure any sort of power or control in the north. Sansa has not shown any military prowess or leadership to rally the families to back her to rule the north, and yet everyone knows that as long as there is a living Stark, they are the rightful rulers in the North. that’s also why the Boltons went after Bran when they heard rumors he was alive, even though they know he is a crippled child. as long as there is a living Stark, no one will back another claim to the north.

2023-05-05 16:05:48 +0000 UTCThat’s not really true, the Starks have been kings in the north for thousands of years since the Age of Heroes all the way back to Bran the Builder, to Torrhen Stark, until the Targaryen conquest. they were the only family to rule the North. they are one of the oldest houses in Westeros. when I said that the north could self-declare a king, i meant the North as a region, not that any Stark could declare themselves king. yes, Robb got support of the Northern lords because they believed in him, but that’s also because he is a Stark. Winterfell is one of the largest castles in Westeros, built by Brandon the Builder himself. there is not one Great House that commands as much respect and loyalty from their vassals as the Starks do. as the Starks ruled as the Kings of Winter for thousands of years, unperturbed by the Andals and largely untouched by the Targaryens, the strong ties between the First Men still exists. even the Manderlys, who migrated from the Reach, are fiercely loyal to the Starks because they were granted their lands by a Stark. the only exception here is House Bolton, who have been at odds with the Starks for a long time. the other houses mentioned in the question, like the Umbers, the Karstarks or the Glovers, apart from being loyal to the core, are neither as big nor as powerful as the Starks to pose any kind of threat. the houses that broke faith and joined the Boltons only did so because they thought there were no more Starks. no Starks at were at Winterfell, all assumed heirs dead. so their only choices were to pledge for House Bolton as he had been named next warden in the north, but he never had enough support to make a claim for King in the North, as we see from one of the scrolls that Stannis received from a smaller house: “We know no King but the King in the North whose name is Stark.” even when there were thought to be no more Starks living. you’re making it seem like anyone in the north can throw their hat in for consideration to become King in the North, and that’s simply not true, they know no other King but the King in the North, whose name is Stark. some houses backed the Boltons as wardens in the north when there were no known living Starks in an attempt to have the north rejoin the rest of Westeros under threat of collapse. their options are either a Stark king/queen, or to rejoin Westeros. that is the only holdup they had with Robb - whether they should rock the boat by breaking from the rest of the 7 Kingdoms, or whether they should stay. there was no question about who would be the rightful King in the North, it’s known that it would be a Stark. you’re implying that it’s similar to the Iron Islands, where anyone can make a claim. but that is not how it would work in the North.

They got rid of the basic Warrior upgraded it to the next level etc….it’s a lengthy explanation but if you were already subscribed you got the benefit at the same price you were already paying.

2023-05-05 15:19:17 +0000 UTCRemember what it takes to become King in the North. The other houses have to agree and name that person king of the north. Look how Robb became King of the North. He didn’t suddenly announce he was King just because he was Neds oldest son. There was a meeting of the houses and one of the Lords stepped forward to support him as king of the north. Then the others joined in. If Robb had just stood up one day and told them all he was King because he was Ned’s oldest son then they could have all walked away and he would have been King of nothing. But they respected him and chose him as their leader. When mistakes were made and half the houses left Robb and went back home, he still had the title of King but without as much support or as much of an army. That’s why they needed Walder Frey’s support so badly. It’s not only bloodlines that make a King in the North. Unlike Kings Landing, it takes the Lords of the North to name and support the person as King of the North. King’s Landing has stronger succession rules as the other rulers of the seven kingdoms get told who is king. They rule by fear. The Mad King, the Lannisters etc. The Northern houses still have guidelines but they have more say in who their leader is. Another reason the houses were so upset that the Boltons took over by deceit and force. It’s important to remember Ned was never King in the North he was Warden of the North under Kings Landing rule.

2023-05-05 13:50:45 +0000 UTCwe see that even though King Robert technically is the Lord of House Baratheon and is younger, Stannis was able to be Lord of Dragonstone, and Renley Baratheon was Lord of Storms End. basically meaning that even if Jon isn’t declared King and a sibling is, he could still become a Lord, holding lands and titles, or Warden of a region. ex: if Sansa or Bran became ruler of the north and defeat the Ramseys, they could give the Dreadfort to Jon and declare him Lord of the Dreadfort since it would be an empty castle. or they could even give him Winterfell, as King Robert gave Storms End to Renley if they decided to make a capital for the North similar to Kings Landing. keep in mind the North is bigger than all the other kingdoms combined, if they wanted to make their own wardens of each region in the north, they definitely could.

Bran and Sansa are both Starks, and if either became ruler of the north, they also have the power to legitimize him, making him Lord Stark - being able to own lands and titles: we see that even though King Robert is the Lord of House Baratheon, Stannis was able to be Lord of Dragonstone. basically meaning that even if Jon isn’t declared King, he could still become a Lord or Warden of an region. or if he became king, he could legitimize himself if he desired to do so.

2023-05-05 13:19:16 +0000 UTChe could be legitimized by decree of the king. if he were to become the king, he could legitimize himself, or get permission from any king/queen ruling westeros if the north rejoins the rest of the kingdom, the point is moot. since the north is rebelling against the crown, they could either self declare a king as they had previously had their own king, Torrhen Stark (the King Who Knelt) prior to Aegon’s conquering of westeros, or if the north reunites with the rest of westeros under another ruler he could be legitimized. this is why Stannis offered Jon legitimization earlier, because Stannis saw himself as the rightful king of Westeros and legitimizing Jon would make him warden of the north and bring the north back into the fold. Legitimizing makes him a true lord of house Stark, and thus able to be warden of the north.

The whole disadvantage about being a bastard in Westeros is that you have no right to inherit any lands or titles from your noble father. That’s why there is such a distinction between being a Snow and a Stark, or a Snow and a Bolton, for example.
