Avatar The Last Airbender 3x2 Reaction and Review

Comments

@Saibal Yeah thanks to you guys crying about it. Now we’re gonna have 2 weeks of no ATLA content, and less analysis of each part as well. Congratulations. Y’all could have easily just done what I suggest and it’s a win win for everyone but no, you didn’t consider the other side.

Daniel

Yes. You were being rude when you said asked, "do you have common sense". Then you also went on to say you're not an asshole instead of apologizing. And btw, why are you acting like your opinion is the only correct one?! It seems like the majority for now is that people do want those episodes released together, not as separate.

Saibal Sarkar

Lol I’m not angry I’m just appalled at your stupidity is all. And wow you had to resort to appearance now, real mature of you. I’ll be the bigger person and just end it here since you’ve proven yourself to be an idiot who can’t stand to be corrected with dignity ✌🏼

Daniel

If I had a face like yours I’d be an angry person too

Destinee Yang

@Destinee You’re taking it as hostile energy because you literally have no point as I’ve already proven it as nonsensical. I gave you a simple solution that a grade schooler could have come up with, and I had to explain it to you twice 💀 Go ahead and get triggered again by me saying this but it’s the truth and you’re just being sensitive

Daniel

@Saibal You seriously went as far to suggest a poll for this nonsense when there’s a simple solution you can do for yourself that I pointed out. You guys are the ones being inconsiderate in all honesty. To the people who don’t mind watching Part 1 early and patiently waiting for Part 2. You’re suggesting them to release both at the same time which will then make us wait longer. The season 2 finale was arguably as close to a true 2-parter as upcoming eps. 10&11 and people waited for Part 2 for that with no issues. If you didn’t notice, they watched both those episodes together, they just released it separately. Please go on and try to make your case more justifiable, given the solution I already gave all of you.

Daniel

You already came into this comment section with hostile energy. We’re all inclined to our own opinions here. You don’t have to convince me otherwise and be hasty about it. You’ve said your point and I’ve said mine. End of discussion

Destinee Yang

@Saibal Explain to me how I was being rude? Are y’all really that soft? Like seriously. You’re getting mad because you didn’t think to do what I pointed out either, which is on you not me. I’m giving y’all advice that I shouldn’t have to and I’m being rude 💀😂

Daniel

This person just said I don't mean to be rude, and then proceeded to be rude. Wth?

Saibal Sarkar

This was the only assumption I could make, since it took a 2nd explanation for you to understand a very simple concept that you couldn’t think of yourself. I told you I wasn’t trying to be rude but w/e 🤷🏻‍♂️

Daniel

Saying I have no common sense is quite an asshole thing to say. Goodbye

Destinee Yang

I wasn’t being an asshole lol I just literally had to repeat myself and explain it to you again a second time for you to understand, which is mind boggling to me. Also, they don’t have an editor, which you’d know if you’d pay attention to them. This is why they take more time to edit per episode compared to other reaction channels. You said you’re not impatient, so you can just do what I suggested and give it a rest. It’s not a big deal at all.

Daniel

There’s no need to be an asshole about it. And there’s nothing wrong with me voicing a concern either. I am a massive avatar fan and I have watched many reactors react to it and they have the reactions paired up together. Although I know waiting is an option. Releasing them together is also an option too. Patreon is meant to be a platform where we can voice opinions and concerns. If you don’t like my opinion and you think it’s dumb. Fair enough but you shaming me and saying I have no common sense is a disservice to the community.

Destinee Yang

It’s the same for all you other guys complaining about this too, this whole conversation was pointless. It’s a case of impatience or just no common sense lol. What matters is that they watch the episodes together, which they will.. Nobody is forcing y’all to watch Part 1 right away, you can easily just wait until Part 2 releases and watch them together as they did..

Daniel

@Destinee I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude but do you have common sense? I just explained to you what you can do. S&P WILL watch the episodes together, which they’ve already done with the 2 parters previously and this is what matters. You just said you’re not impatient, then you don’t have to watch Part 1 right away when it releases. Just wait until they release Part 2, then you can watch 1&2 together.. 🙄 Problem solved lmao

Daniel

If they want to do episode by episode for more video content on their channel. I think the compromise here is releasing those episodes together then. It is better to wait for both of them to release rather than one at a time

Destinee Yang

It’s not about being impatient. A big part of watching reactors is to feel that you are immersed and watching the show along side them. If they do episode by episode on those 2 parters. It will feel as though it came to an abrupt stop. Season 3 has significant 2 parters for a reason. We are getting to the finish line

Destinee Yang

They don’t need to release them at the same time but they definitely need to watch them together. Book 3 ep 10 & 11 is a true 2 parter, whereas the 2 parters beforehand were debatable. It’s a must for them to watch these 2 episodes together, which they will. That’s what they did with the other 2 parters, they just released them separately which y’all shouldn’t be that offended by. If y’all absolutely need to watch them together, just wait until S&P releases Part 2, it’s that simple. At the end of the day what matters is that they watched them together, not us. Y’all are just impatient, people have lives lol

Daniel

shout out to spartan for flexing his shipping nickname knowledge (australian pronunciation not withstanding); i think its time we have a pudgey + spartan couples dance in the theme of aang and katara as a demonstration of their bond :D

Augustine Lee

I agree 100%. Having a poll would certainly be the best. Not everyone bothers to comment. I mean it is pretty obvious. Who wouldn't want two parters to be combined? As if someone would have an objection to this. And @SuddenImpulse030, saying things like "they definitely listen more and communicate far more than most I've patreoned" is not a good look. It gives the impression that we're not supposed to voice opinions/ask questions or be upset or have different views about the decisions. I understand you're defending your and their decisions, but please don't say such things. They do communicate, I don't agree that it's more than other creators. I'd say it's pretty balanced. But that doesn't mean we can't have opinions or ask for something.

Saibal Sarkar

I’m more than sure that if they combine the two parter episodes that their subscribers would appreciate it. We are only the 3% because we are the only ones voicing this concern. But if you did a poll then we can gather more information

Destinee Yang

There are a lot of factors involved in making these decisions, its not as simple as "if x% of the community is asking for it, then we can and will do it", there are also 2,000 patreons and thousands of youtubers, so they need to try and ascertain how the entire community feels not just the 3% that comment. They do weight these decisions regularly, and sometimes change things. With all due respect, Idk how anyone could have been here over the last 7 months and can suggest they don't listen to their community/care what they want. 2/3rds of the decisions they have made over the last 7 months were due to community requests, and they have even gone back on changes and reverted when community asked them to before. I've been on all kinds of patreons for about 3 years now and they definitely listen more and communicate far more than most I've patreoned, personally, but mileage may vary. Either way, anyone expecting a reactor to do every thing that is requested is going to be looking for a reactor for a very long time. Us mods also try to let them know if there are enough requests for something that they may not have seen, but ultimately they have to balance it with their time, resources, etc. and make that judgement call. They don't just listen to us mods, they listen to the community just as much as us I guarantee.

Next Friday

Flipnskater

I don't understand, how is that listening to your audience? You still do what you intend to do.

Saibal Sarkar

The screenrant article has the actual quote from co-creator Bryan Konietzko: "We had actually written that Uncle would not talk for the beginning of season 3, and that actually had nothing to do with Mako’s situation. It was planned long before we knew that, so it just kind of worked out. And it gave us time to find someone to replace him, but it was just… it just happened that way. Coincidence."

Daniel

It’s on the DVD commentaries for Book 3, specifically episode 6. There’s an article on screenrant about it and it’s mentioned numerous times on Reddit from fans that own the DVDs

Daniel

@Daniel I got that. What I meant is that I have not yet heard the audio commentary myself so I am taking your word for it.

Munir

It’s not what I said, it’s what the creators themselves said in the commentary lol so there’s no need to speculate if it’s accurate or not

Daniel

Pudgey said it might have been an element in why they did it, and Spartan said "maybe but I don't think so." Pudgey gets a lot right and it's a fair assumption to make but if what Daniel said is accurate, Spartan was right this time...

Munir

Probably not until next Monday since they are on break and they rarely post on weekends

Jenny Tolls

No she said it wasn’t the main reason but said that it did play into the situation really well. I think Spartan took it as her saying it was the main reason.

Jenny Tolls

I’d have to rewatch the review but I’m pretty sure Pudgey alluded to his death being why he’s silent but if it’s not, it still fits in perfectly with the story. I think what Spartan disagreed with was his death being the reason which he’s right cuz it wasn’t

Daniel

we will look into it. to people saying we dont listen, we do listen, then we make a judgement call. oly 1-2 years ago most reactors reacted to each individual episode regardless of it being a 2 parter and we've found this to suit our style of analysis/discussion well. we also balance out the very time consuming GoT edits with the slightly less time consuming Avatar edits. we have thus far kept all 2 parters as seperate, so it would be odd for us to change this right at the end. best bet would be to wait till we release the 2nd part then watch them together if that's more enjoyable for you.

CpaSpartan Pudgey

yeah wow we didn't notice but that's an awesome subtle symbolism in those scenes, love it!

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Love the reaction, first of all, and does anyone know when we can expect the next episode?

Chocobo

That’s what Pudgey said as well but Spartan never wants to listen to her 🙄

Jenny Tolls

@letseatapples It shows that he deleted his comment and my reply, but on the app it’s still there? Patreon is glitchy as hell smh. But I’ll just address it here for S&P to see. So in official audio commentary for a future episode, they say that Mako's death did not change their plans and that they already intended Iroh to be silent early in the season even before the actor died. It's on Reddit and there's even an article about it. People here and on YT like to talk out their you know what for some reason lol so don’t believe everything that’s said here

Daniel

@letseatapples Why you getting mad after you got exposed for lying? Now you’re trying to include me as a liar too? 😂 And why’d you delete your comment? We could’ve talked about it there you flake

Daniel

Good for u, go shove it where someone else cares

Ietseatapples

@letseatapples This is yet another example of ATLA ‘fans’ talking out their a** lol. This is not true. In the audio commentary for 3x6, they say that Mako's death did not impact their plans and that they already intended Iroh to be silent early in the season even before the actor died. It’s on Reddit and there’s even an article about it. Lol these people are cringe

Daniel

Zuko and Mei are beautiful

Christopher

If they can react to a 1 hour episode of GOT then they can combine those ATLA episodes together. It is meant to be watched together. If they don’t it will totally ruin the viewer experience. I will be extremely upset

Destinee Yang

I didnt liked Zuko x Mei relationship on my first time watching either. But now i just think in both at some kind of emo couple, I get to like Mei later on😊❤️ Nice reaction guys as always!!

Emi Benitez

Damn. Sadly you're right. they don't listen if we request a 2 parter. They will unfortunately do one at a time. Would be cool tho. Since they go together. Praying at least the finale!! 🙏🏻🥹

Elias Flores

“You're so beautiful when you hate the world.” Zuko is an edge-lord confirmed. We haven't seen Aang relax and be a kid for a long time now. From the time he went into Wan Shi Tong's library, he has been in a conflict in almost every episode. I liked watching him forget everything and enjoy himself this episode, depicting a completely different disposition from just the last episode. Also, the boy's got some funky moves! It's like Zuko is trying his hardest to become public enemy #1 in this episode. Iroh's conduct throughout this episode sends such a powerful message. It's unlikely for him to have given up on his nephew, so the reason for his silence could be that he thinks Zuko needs to figure this out / become better by himself. Seeing that Zuko has been a person who gives greater credence to actions rather than advice, I have hope this might work.

YounesCuppino

They listen to their modes so I hope they advised them to do the same

Destinee Yang

Ietseatapples

girl Avatar 2 was last month

Sasha

If you guys didn’t notice because most people don’t initially, the way they portrayed Iroh & Zuko here was done in a very creative and particular way. If you look back at nearly every scene, they make it visually seem like Zuko is the one behind bars and not Iroh. Zuko is the one interacting with the bars, throwing the prison chair, in rage, then begging for help etc. While Iroh is portrayed at peace, unbothered and free from the bars. As metaphorically speaking, Zuko is the one who’s still a prisoner to his father’s path for him. Masterfully done.

Daniel

They're not gonna listen unfortunately since they don't really care what their audience wants but hey it's worth a shot

Jenny Tolls

While this episode comes off as silly and filler, I really love the story it tells about what war does to nations and cultures. Aang always knew the fire nation for its expressiveness and energy. Fire is the element of drive, self-expression, and self-actualization, very much like air. But while air may tend towards distraction, avoidance, and at times apathy and detachment, fire has the focus and drive to move itself without having to be moved by others. And yet, he is revisiting it only to see a rigid country in its own bubble, stamping out expression and individuality. An element of vibrant soul, but a nation that has lost its soul. With the elimination of air, the closest neighbor fire has is Earth, and it shows in the rigidity. I've always been a fan of this perspective. Russia during the cold war. Germany during WWII. Seeing how, when you are there and on the inside, it's still just people trying to live their lives and make the most of their situation. It also makes me think of Europe in the prior to and during the industrial revolution. We often look at things from the wider perspective. Rich nations seeking power and imposing themselves on others and calling it superiority. But there were many cases of europeans visiting African and native American tribes, and taking people back to show them "the way of the future." But more often than not, the visitors went back to their tribes with tales of a world where people are reduced to money and labor, with rigid rules and power structures. With unbelievable stench and unable to see the sky behind the smog. In one case, a European ship returned from a voyage reporting that "the vast majority of their crew died from storm and disease and their bodies were thrown overboard", but in actuality, they visited a remote island and lived amongst the people there, only to find they didn't want to return to their old life back in Europe. The aristocracy loved to boast of their superiority and power. But that's not what the everyday person sees in these situations usually.

Jonathanese

It's also a pretty important lesson. The show won lots of awards for its portrayal of war. Often the country of aggression has lost its soul and culture in the pursuit of discipline and loyalty. It's a fun episode, but also sad. It's nice seeing Aang reintroduce some of their old culture back to them.

Jonathanese

yes

Eshwar Tangirala

I know we have quite a bit of time but can you please react to episode 10/11 together. It’s another 2 parter episode and also the finale is a 4 parter. I’m fine with 2 episode together or even all of them together. I don’t mind if we have to wait longer. Please react it together as one

Destinee Yang

This episode is a bit weird tonally after the premiere, but I appreciate it for getting to see Aang be comfortable and have fun. Can't wait til you get deeper into the season, there are some truly great moments ahead!

Munir

This was the only thing that could’ve made my day better❤️❤️ let’s get ittt

girl gal

Lol period

girl gal

Nope! Time for ATLA!!! lol

Elias Flores
