Game of Thrones Histories & Lore Reaction | Season 4

Comments

The almighty moderators missed a spoiler for S08E02 ;) It's not a big one and the story is not completely the same but it would be nicer if you heard it for the first time in that episode. Love these lore reactions though!

Dasypodidae

what we were referring to is the motto of House Spartan (my house) on our discord community (bit of a fun thing we do)

CpaSpartan Pudgey

i like the lore and all its world building. interested on how they will effect

Stannis loves grammar.

Love how much respect you guys have for the crazy necromancer lol

Brit’sBiscuits

When can we expect season 5 to start dropping? 😁

Will

I have said the same a few times. I hope in some far flug spinoff show we can see it at its height as well, when it was well respected, well supplied, and had 10,000 men and all the castles manned.

SuddenImpulse

I really hope we get a look at The Wall/Nights Watch during the HoD show.

Nick Wright

I think the spoilers were about House of the Dragons, probably mentions of people and events that took place during the civil war.

I get Spartan's allegory between the Roman Empire and the Vikings, but in reality the Danes and Norse (not Vikings, since that was a word used to describe the act of plunder, and not the people) were VERY into decorating themselves and keeping clean as well as having established hierarchies (chieftains and later actual kings). Sorry for the ackshually :P Just wanted to fight the movie trope description of my ancestors :)

Mikael Brink Frederiksen

Spartan motto isn't 'no retreat no surrendor' it was 'come back with your shield or on it.'

TwistedMagoo

Out of curiosity (since I haven’t watched this lore before) but why would the Season 4 lore have GOT spoilers?

Franky E

Idk if you recall, but Maester leuwin had a valyerian steel link. He showed it to bran in season 1 when they were talking about old Nan's stories I believe (the White walkers etc). He was 1/100. Rip

Love the histories and lore vids. They really do enhance the sotry especially since most of these videos just cover lore that's in the books but is skipped over for the show!

Lastly, aegon the conqueror never commanded 3 dragons. he commanded just one dragon, balerion. the other two dragons were commanded by one of his two sister-wives.

spartan seems like a history buff!

Hoary Old Bitch

But cmon….you sick a mad dog on someone, can you really be surprised when the tear someone to shreds? Idk why people are always trying to minimize cruelty and brutality. He is 100% at fault for Elia, Rhaenys & little Aegon’s deaths and just as responsible for how brutally they were murdered. He knew exactly what the mountain (& Amory Lorch) were capable of and that’s why he sent him. Tywin could’ve just as easily had anyone else do it but he chose the mountain for a reason.

NeneSays

hey guys it seems you guys picture Dorne as geographically from the east. Dorne is geographically part of westeros. it is one of the 7 kingdoms. it does have cultural differences obviously, but geographiically just as much a part of westeros as every other part. it not part of essos.

Augustine Lee

wardrobe was on point this video

I think the main reason that Tywin had Elia's children killed was to prove his loyalty to Robert and secure the throne for him, as up until that point he had stayed out of the war. Although I think Elias rape and murder, and the brutality of the children's deaths, was purely the Mountains doing and not Tywins.

Hayden King

Regarding Elia and her children firstly the mountain is just awful has no morality and finds pleasure in killing, torture and r*pe. Robb even called him a mad dog with no strategic thought in his mind. Also, Tywin would have recognised the threat of leaving any Targaryen children alive in case of them rising up to take out Robert Baratheon Tywin prevented that by ordering the mountain to kill the children and Elia too. Robert would have no issue with this because quite frankly he hated every Targaryen I mean he did try to assassinate Daenerys in season 1. Oberyn’s story is quite tragic and I would have loved to see the what if situation if he won. But I think the point of Oberon is that revenge in this world will most likely get you killed. It is futile and if you do go seeking it you will get punished for it. Remember Yoren from season 2? The nights watch who saved Arya but got killed by goldcloaks his story of him killing his brothers murderer but him not even remembering his own brother. His obsession with revenge led him to a bad life at the wall. The same happens with Oberyn he’s been obsessing for over 17 years about revenge and even though he had carefully thought it out and planned for it he got a bit arrogant and it led to his death.

Tayyib Majumder

I think Joffrey was shown to be holding his sword at his burial - most likely was buried with it.

S.

I especially liked the part about the Valyrian steel swords. When Arya compliments Briennes sword in Season 4 episode 10, that is Ned’s sword that Brienne has. Tywin melted down Ned’s sword Ice into two swords. One he gave to Jamie that Jamie then gave to Brienne to protect Ned’s daughters with. And the other to Joffrey. I wonder where Joffrey’s sword is? And it makes the dagger that was used in Season 1 to try to kill Bran, more curious. It was valerian steel. Great reaction. Really love these video that explain so much.

I❤️movies&tvshows

i look forward to the lore videos even more than regular episodes lmao
