Game of Thrones 4x10 Reaction & Review

Comments

I'm glad to be back with the patreon family. Had to join for the season 4 finale and all of season 5!

Tanayia Robinson

littlefinger said in ep8 “people die squatting over their chamber pots” - foreshadowing this

Rainbow

Certain character motivations differ in the books. Certain big events happen in the books that are replaced/never happen in the show. No spoilers! But will be exciting to go back and talk about them when we’re far past these seasons!

Rainbow

book quote

Abby

And so he spoke, and so he spoke That Lord of Castamere But now the rains weep o'er his hall And not a soul to hear

Abby

Which episode??!

Tugboat

just a heads up theres a HOTD spoiler in season 5

Locke

I’m trying but I cannot stand brans storyline even after countless times rewatching

Supernei

Season 4 is fire for sure - much more to come - enjoying your reactions !

K Smith

Such a great episode to end my favourite season of the show. Season 4 is just so strong from start to finish. Having read the books first, now you’ve reached this point, imagine reading a book where shock after shock after shock kept happening. I was open mouthed as each event post the red wedding to that Tywin / tyrion scene played out. I hope you continue to enjoy the rollercoaster!

Victoria E (vickster5001)

Dam she had to hide her nukes. What a great queen

nofaace

and in the end, tywin lannister did not shit gold.

Wasted Youth

Empathy for Tyrion after how Tywin treated him all his life. I don't think it necessarily goes beyond that.

It's going to result in S&P no longer reading the comments at all if this keeps up.

SuddenImpulse

Please read the spoiler rules we post on each video. Delete this please or we will have the admins delete it.

Usually the episodes leave on a high for danny in the last scene.

It would appear some clowns told them before this episode that Oberyn fought with poison. It's not a huge deal but it's still a spoiler. 🤦‍♂️

Julien

Hey, you’re now caught up enough that you can watch and react to Coldplay’s Game of Thrones - the Musical! It’s a hilarious skit Coldplay made for charity that features quite a few GoT cast members.

The scene where the Hound tries to get Arya to kill him has parallels to the scene where Arya tries to get Nymeria to leave her. Arya knew that the Hound didn't mean those things he said about Sansa, etc., because Arya didn't mean what she said to Nymeria while throwing literal stones at her. Thinking of Arya and Nymeria during that scene makes it extra heart-breaking.

David Thomas

And he pushed the book aside, not away to the floor > Jaime saved Tyrion, didn't give in to Cersei completely. Perfect symbolism.

S.

Haha, Spartan being confused that this season didn't end with tragedy/pain made me laugh. Feel surreal in this world

Cs Zoltan

You can now appreciate this masterpiece https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLNFloNdJH4

I might be wrong, but I always saw Tywin sleeping with Shae as another way of demeaning Tyrion. Like he hates Tyrion so much that he is willing to lower himself to sleeping with a whore, just because Tyrion loved her. And making her call him "My Lion" and all that were just another way of taking away everything Tyrion had.

Tinths

yeah tywin was the one keeping king's landing in check. his death creates a power vacuum and chaos will ensue

Locke

I don't know why other insist on speaking on other seasons in the comments. I hope S&P pay them no mind and enjoy each season & episodes as they come in, without bias/preconceptions clouding them. Spartan waiting on Cersei to get her just desserts plus shipping Hound/Brienne made me crack up still. Isn't it crazy how so many major romances ended? e.g. Robb/Talisa, Jon/Ygritte, Shae/Tyrion, I guess the real GOT rule is dont fall in love Yes Stannis & Jon was the mashup we never knew we needed to see, cant wait as you explore season 5! Jakka Hakka, here we come :)

Julie

Pudgey you were spot on this episode!! on fire! loved that you appreciate Jons freedom and love for Ygritte.

Ghostcat

can't wait for the Easter's episode :D

Eduard B

What’s fun to note is in the books when Jamie Free’s Tyrion he tells him that when they were young the girl Tysha that married him wasn’t a whore after all but just low born and Tywin forced Jamie to lie that she was a whore. This was the last straw for Tyrion and the final reason of the decision that he went to Tywins chamber instead of directly to Varys.

Luuk

I think the reason Varys left is because he might've been found guilty for aiding Tywin's death. They would've questioned everyone and I think it was just too risky for him to stay. After hearing those bells, he realized there's no coming back now

Steffen Eide

Pudgey the fact that you even noticed >Jamie pushing away the kingsguard book which I didn't even notice??? you're a Legend

Sasha

The Hound cared for Arya - he saw on Brienne 'the Lannister gold', i.e. he could have just sold Arya off to Brienne if he didn't care about her. Instead, he and Brienne were literally fighting about who would protect Arya the best. Due to the Hound's reputation, Brienne thought he is a bad man, and due to Jaime's reputation, the Hound thought Brienne is a bad agent for the Lannisters. Perfect, the fight was so brutal and realistic-seeming that I still - after seeing it for the x'th time - was nervous to see the outcome. :)

S.

Loved Arya and Sandor's journey. Both learned a lot from the other.

Nick Wright

Notice now how Tyrion is the cause of both of his parents deaths

Destinee Yang

Season 4 was amazing. Loved seeing you guys react to it and express your thoughts on it. I love seeing different views on things, it’s beautiful. Can’t wait to see you guys watch the next season.

Joseph Campbell

Dany, the mother of dragons and more importantly, the breaker of chains, is faced with an impossible choice. I find it so sad that she has to lock her kids up to protect her people - the same people that call her mother. An overall loss for her, but the selfless act that a ruling queen should make for the safety of her people :( the emotion of the scene is just amplified from the dragons screaming for her and ramins score. The title, 'breaker of chains' is in my top 3 pieces of music from the show. Soooo moving

Nana-Afia

Now ends my favorite season. Spartan asked for House Lannister to take some hits and now they've taken the biggest hit of all by losing Tywin. I have mixed feelings about upcoming seasons but I will save those comments for then!

Munir

This

SuddenImpulse

Hound its hard to say but Jaime she would lose against. She admits this herself in fact. She struggled against Jaime even when he was hands tied and malnourished and mistreated for a year. He truly is one of the greatest swordsman alive before his hand. A prodigy.

SuddenImpulse

I think HotD will improve on that count. The entire first season was basically just setting the table for the main story.

SuddenImpulse

I love how Brienne and The Hound are just beating the shit out of eachother in the background as Spartan is shipping them together 😂❤️

Jonny Rey

Varys asked Tyrion, “What have you done?” When he opened the door for him and Tyrion didn’t answer him. Once he hears the bells ring, he knows it likely means someone of importance is dead and it’s more than likely Tyrion is responsible. He decided it was better to run with Tyrion than to be caught conspiring with him.

Shay

You’ve probably already heard this, but Pudgey at least you can take comfort that Jon and Ygritte are still together in real life! The actors met on set and eventually got married. They are expecting their second child.

cstarklady

One thing I love about GoT episode titles is that most, if not all of them refer to multiple events, characters, etc. I like that they find a common theme in each episode to allude to. Anyways, goddamn this is a great season finale.

AG

Hound would have won if he didn’t get bit earlier which slowed him down

Chad-gon Targaryen

I can see why Pudgey thought this was the end for Tyrion. His story is basically complete here. Even if he went to the wall, what's he gonna do?? Be a steward?

Jenny Tolls

For me at this point in the series, everyone sleeps on brans story line, whereas when I first watched it, this episode changed everything for me. Just as much as the red wedding and Neds death. This show went from a political/war masterpiece to a whole different type of masterpiece. A Universal, word building masterpiece of epic fantasy that I've personally never experienced before.. Honestly the world building in GOT hits different. With the right people, you could probably make 20 different spin offs to this show that I'd be interested in IF DONE RIGHT.

Lyons

Remember the hound was wounded when he fought Brienne. Arya said in the last episode. “That ear has got you moving a lot slower than before.” The same was true when she fought Jamie. It’s still interesting to think if Brienne could take on a prime Hound or Jamie.

Gnarlybudz

This episode is peak game of thrones

Mads

Good catch noting the stories are meshing together. The game is afoot :).

Julie Marshall

Fun fact: the red wedding episode originally aired on Mother’s Day in the US. This episode originally aired on Father’s Day. Talk about irony!

Jennifer Lindsey

I love that GOT has so many stories & so many characters archs happening at the same time. It was hard to adjust to House of The Dragon, I like it but it's not as intriguing for me.

Jermaine Lee

Season 4 is my favorite still. It has so many great scenes and it ends on a high note with probably Tyrions best storyline and that hopeful music as Arya sets sail.

Ludus Aurea

You have seen the true meaning of GoT, and that is there is no true good and true bad characters.. Everyone has good and bad in them. Most all shows show people as the “good ones” or the “bad ones” whereas GoT shows that everyone has a story and that the way they act is shaped by their situation and past. People you hate early on you feel sympathy later, and people you think are pure have to make hard moral decisions.

Jon Musen

"Margaery will dig her claws in, you will dig your claws in and you'll fight over him like beasts until you rip him apHart". The way she says the word "apart" good lord my queen🥲 I love Cersei so much idc

the books are the books. the tv show is the tv show. keep that in mind.

Stannis loves grammar.

a great season ahead! prepare yourselves!

Stannis loves grammar.

father and son dynamics huh! valar mogulis!

Stannis loves grammar.

There you go

Ludus Aurea

I do believe that Shae loved Tyrion and then got with Tywin to spite him and probably out of opportunistic survival too. It points towards Tywins hypocrisy and double standards too as he punished and demeaned Tyrion his whole life for bedding whores. I was still sad when Shae died and was fist pumping when Tyrion killed Tywin for being such a shit father. That being said, Tywin was an amazing character and a brilliant presence in the show.

Josh Jones

And a coat of red or a coat of gold, a lion still has claws. And mine are long and sharp m'lord, as long as sharp as yours

Evilsponge

Tbf I think her not killing the hound herself was actually her way of forgiving him - essentially removing him from her list

Liam Hewitt

I can't believe people still cheered for Arya, even after this. Hound saved her life many times. Even the day of Red Wedding. I was annoid of her arogance before and after this I was done with her. Only baby Arya was cool. LOL

Dname

Episode 8-10 were 🔥 Can’t wait for season 5 it has some of my favorite episodes in tv.

Robert L

This is the first finale that is actually a climax rather than a denouement, and was actually better than the penultimate episode. And overall it's just an extremely dense episode. Almost every scene is thick with meaning and consequence. I generally dislike source material talk in reaction videos (TLOU gamers are absolutely killing me) but for *once* I will say this: as amazing as this finale was, in terms of plot, character, dialog, and emotions, it was *significantly* abridged from the books.
