Game of Thrones 4x9 Reaction & Review

Comments

Sameee! I can’t stop crying every time when I watch that scene when Jon smiles at her while she is pointing an arrow at him😭💔

Jose

No way! If this is true, then this makes me so happy! Every time I watch the scene when Ygritte is pointing an arrow at Jon and then he smiles at her makes me so emotional and makes me cry later when she dies. 😭💔

Jose

Have you been told yet that the actor who played Jon Snow and the actress who played Ygritte fell in love during filming in real life, and got married a couple years after this season?

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

Pudgee isnt just a pretty face it seems, shes been bang on with most of these preditctions lately

Joseph Price

You keep wondering why Sir Alliser Thorne hates Jon Snow. Thorne was one of the king’s guards of the “mad king”. He remained loyal to the king and was the guard to Prince Rehgar Targaryen in the battle where the prince was defeated and killed by Robert Baratheon. Robert was injured in that battle and Ned was in charge. Ned Stark ordered Thorne to be sent to the wall. Thorne considers himself as loyal knight to the king and Ned is traitor because he was a rebel against the king. If you go back to season 1 when the news came to the Wall that Ned is prisoned for the charge of treason, how happy and gleeful was Thorne and was trying to provoke Jon.

IBRAHIM ALJABOR

Yup. He was defending Kings Landing. And it was Tywin who sent him to the Wall (execution or the wall). In the books you can grasp that he hates Tyrion when hes visiting the wall.

Krefulin

I remember being at my friends condo and we were excited as well! We had picked up chik fil a and I was interested in Jon's story the most at the time so this was very cool for me!

Jenny Tolls

Seeing the literal heart eyes in both your face while watching Jon made me so happy this ep. One of my fav shots of the show is Jon holding Ygritte, the juxtaposition between the chaos and Jon's grief has always stayed with me. I know Spartan is a cynic (for good reason) but I promise no matter how much you try closing your heart or predicting, this show will surprise you all the time. Might as well enjoy your ride. Lastly, I don't think you should ever think of ruling as easy or black or white, especially for Dany vs Kings Landing, Dany has to deal with slavery and a delicate history. She is literally throwing over empires and institutions. It would've been different for Jorah if he had revealed himself, I think Dany could've forgave him, instead he allowed himself to be caught out when he had plenty of opportunity to tell her (literal years). Every opinion is valid but as we head into another season I hope you think about it more.

Julie

This episode came out the weekend I moved to Houston and I was staying with some of my friends friends and I remember how fucking excited we were to see this.

Ludus Aurea

The next Episode is one of my top three favorite's

Phillip

ygritte killed ollie's parent if you remember. He also was an archer in his village.

Haseenudeen

I agree with Pudgey, it is no fairy tail, LOL. It's like real world, you never know who's going to live or die. Goerge R R Marting is a genius.

Dname

You guys are catching so much that most 1st time viewers miss. Great reactions as ever, S4 is great

Robin Lee Melendez

Agreed Pudgey, Ygritte and Jon were my favourite together.

Ghostcat

You guys are awesome. I like how petrified you both were of what will happen here and cant really blame you, its just a natural reaction to GoT that people learn as they coming up through the seasons. The emotional rollercoaster of the episode really feels like a theme park ride without any safeties, its fun but it can go south real fast and end up in a gory splatter.

neutchain

a lot of the reason why GOT characters are deeper embraced in the community is the added context from the books, when you add context from the books you know the characters for seasons and seaons beyond just a few episodes.

Augustine Lee

They’ve been doing this the whole time, it’s just the third ep typically drops on Saturday or Sunday. What’s unusual this week is that it’s been literally every other day. Which is aaaaaaawesome 🔥

Julien

Ser Alliser fought for the Targaryens. He went to the wall when the mad king fell.

Supernei

Ygritte*

Sean van Hengel

I will say he did cheat on her though, while she was preggy too 😩

Nana-Afia

Salty Spartan is my favourite part of this reaction.

Karli Mac

and baby number 2 is on the way!

Supernei

This might help Pudgy sleep tonight … the actress who plays Ygritte and the actor who plays Jon Snow are married in real life. They met on the show and decided to stay in the cave together!

Jeff Stohlstrom

Love this episode. It’s definitely one of my favorite in the show. I enjoyed seeing your reactions and thoughts on it. Can’t wait for the next!

Joseph Campbell

Not perfect but damn good

Tayyib Majumder

Yeah very true I mean Jon is literally going on a suicide mission albeit with good intentions

Tayyib Majumder

Ygritte dies Pudgey:😭😢😔 Spartan:😊😁🥳

Rey Jr

He does in some ways but I think hes forgetting to consider some important factors here.

The difference in your faces when Ygritte got shot. 🤣🤣🤣

Maggie Jordan

About Dany, I get your point and many feel that way, but honestly I don't feel like she's drunk on power or obnoxious arrogant. In many cases when she snapped at her advisors, it wasn't just "I'm in charge so shut up" kind of situation: In Astapor she told Jorah and Barristan to never question her in front of strangers, which is a fair request for a leader who intends to assert power. In Yunkai, her advisors were only working to achieve her goal of winning the throne (which she appreciated), even though it involved ignoring hundreds of thousands of slaves, while she insisted on delaying her conquest of Westeros to free them. As for the masters of Mereen, I don't think that "speaking against" the crucifying of children makes you completely innocent as a master. Even the "good" masters took advantage of their privilege on the slaves and never tried to change the social exploitative system. Yes it would be nice to punish each one based on how exactly involved they were, but I think it's not that realistic when you're destroying slavery (or any system that has been in place for thousands of years). It's easy to expect perfectionism if someone else is in charge of achieving it.

HDN

should be noted both Jon and Grenn knew it was a one way mission he was sending him on, if you watch back you see the hesitation on Jon's part and Grenn's understanding and acceptance

Phil H

Spartan has a far more nuanced view of Dany at this point than the pretty big majority of GoT viewers/fans at this stage. Nice to see.

J_Fley .

IMO characters stick with the audience cause most people usually watch this show multiple times. More importantly, characters in GOT are always part of a bigger story involving many "main" characters, it's very rare to have a story arc exclusive to 1 singular "main" character that ends this arc if he dies. In this case, Oberyn represented Dorne and his sister's story, Rhaegar Targaryen's wife, and the role House Lannister played in Robert's rebellion. We had gotten some background on this matter, but it was mainly Oberyn who brought all of this back in the picture.

HDN

She does glow! :D

Ashleep

Man I love this reaction, but I would love if y’all reacted to Game Of Thrones Honest Trailers Volume 1 it doesn’t contain any spoilers so don’t worry! It’ll just be a fun, side thing to react to!!

Joana

I don't understand what you mean he's seeing it from a male perspective, he is talking about her lack of compassion or mercy when not all things are black and white, that has nothing to do with male/female

Jake Follain

As for Daenerys, I mostly agree when it comes to her learning about leadership and her black and white thinking at times, although I don't blame her for yeeting Jorah. He should have told her about his betrayal and it obviously care as a massively hurtful shock to her, I think in this moment her faith and trust in him was clearly shaken. That being said I love Jorah! What a great episode though! Great battle scenes and dialogue. RIP Ygritte, Pip and the others.

Josh Jones

Pudgey is looks so gorgeous and healthy! you should start a life-style blog or channel lol I’d sign up

Hoary Old Bitch

LETS KILL SOME CROWS!

Evilsponge

On the Dany point. I think her choices are made with good intention but yes I think it is fair to question her leadership at this point in time but remember she is Targaryen and she is the mother of dragons, so by every account up to this point she is the true queen making her way across the world to get to King's Landing and ultimately to her throne, so she has to be relentless in her pursuit. Even with her faults, I've always loved her leadership

Demo

Glad you’re doing better!!!

Brittany Proffitt

I put “you know nothing” in the same mental category of “as you wish” from the Princess Bride. Cute catchphrase that becomes shorthand for “I love you, you idiot.”

Brittany Proffitt

And thank god for that lol

Brittany Proffitt

Jon is the best of em. He's everything his predecessors weren't. The perfect leader

Demo

Fun fact: apparently the director thought the post-team had sped up Kit Harrington’s footage. Turned out, he really was moving that sword that quickly. Shows what happens when the actor puts in the time and effort in training.

Brittany Proffitt

WaZauzz

This is my fav episode of the series i think, atleast top 3 if not. So, it's sad that Not even 10 mins in and I'm already annoyed with how spartan is talking about dany, lol. Sorry not sorry, I must leave this comment here cus I didn't comment on last episode. Theres 0 compassion towards her. Always looking at things from the male perspective. Not surprising but unfortunate. Jorah committed treason!!!! Her treatment of him was merciful. Pudgey is right, dany is young and naive. She didn't crucify all the masters, just an equal number and she has since learnt from that mistake (allowing jorah to stop Dario). Dany continuously listens to her advisors, but she is a leader. Leaders lead, they don't listen to everything everyone says to them. Her biggest triumph was in astapor and she didn't head their council. In fact, dany struggles because her people see her as their protector -she's not "playing god" for herself, she's doing what the city of former slaves wants from her. (Which can be another discussion) Its also important to remember that she's fighting the institution of slavery, not just to be queen of mereen. The moves and decisions she will need to make are much more intense than an other leaders we see in the series. Her mistakes will be magnified. Have some empathy please! Even imagine her with a 3rd member if it'll help you grant her the same grace you give to others spartan.

Nana-Afia

Hopefully Pudgey can sleep easy knowing that at least Jon Snow and Ygritte got married in real life. Yeah, one of the few, but great, episodes that follows one story line for the whole time. I always thought the "You know nothing Jon Snow" line was a little cheesy, but totally get why that had to do it. I think it would have been sadder if she started saying it but trailed off and died in the middle of it. Oh, well. You guys are blowing through the seasons and it's great to rewatch it again.

HeyHeyJK

the man who passes the sentece should swing the sword. these are all examples of the writting of this show. enjoy what is to come. CUNK CUNK!

Stannis loves grammar.

you know nothing john snow! ! only the ladder is real. winter is coming..

Stannis loves grammar.

Remember Egrit was the one who shot an arrow through that little boys father when they first attacked his village. It’s fitting the little boy got his revenge.

Gnarlybudz

And they have two children together

I❤️movies&tvshows

And here. we. go. 🎉

Brittany Proffitt

Holy fuck. You guys are insane. 3 ep a week !!!!

Rey Jr

Not to get mushy but GOT was on during a really tough time for me and was an escape that really helped me get through that. Watching you guys invested in this series brings me to a very happy place. Thanks for these videos sometimes you don’t realize the “fun” work you’re doing means more to people than you know. Cheers 🥂

Frankie Leyva

3 episodes in a week? You’re treating your patrons well. May the gods bless you

Sean van Hengel

Season 4 is just mad... Only great Episodes... S4E9 is my Favorit of all GoT episodes. Hyped

Robin Nussbaumer

I agree about Danny but I would say all the leaders in this show have made even more rash decisions than Danny lol

Jermaine Lee

fun fact, jon snow's actor is married to ygritte irl

Philippe

the actors who play jon and ygritte are married IRL! they got their happy ending in a way ❤️

Kayla Carlyle

My personal favourite of the show and definitely one of the best obviously in contention with a few others. This episode is just perfection for me.

Owen Hargrave

Monkey D. Tomy

At least Jon and Ygritte in an alternative universe have a happy ending and thats in real life :)

Halofan117 Halofan

That's so strange to hear. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that.

Roy Koopa

The more I reflect on GoT, the more I find this is probably my favourite episode of the whole series.
