Hello Drivers!

Been quite a while since we've had a chat!

As many of you know, I am a man of many hats! I drive IRL, manage an airsoft team, own a jerky business, and commit a lot of time playing and modding American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2!

Weekly Reporting

You asked for more frequent updates! so here's my attempt at keeping you guys better informed about the mod and other news

I'll be strictly using Patreon to communicate what big changes are coming in regards to our community; which I hope will help streamline information. I'll do my best to try to keep these reports actively coming in each week; even if there is nothing new to report!

I have also considered looking into doing some live streaming content via Twitch and or YouTube which can also serve as source of news, and gauge feedback from players in real time.

Steam Workshop Update!

The GDC Logistics Realistic Economy Mod: Classic Edition is now currently available on the Steam Workshop for ATS and ETS2 Game Version 1.51.

However, both are still currently in "Safe Mode" and certain features may be limited or removed until the mod can be fully updated. I may still take me some time get most key mod features working properly, so please be patient.

GDC Logistics Realistic Economy Mods: Lite vs Full Editions

This is something I tried to avoid as long as possible, however i have to value my time and dedication to keep this mod up to date, and fresh with new content, and I feel that I can no longer freely continue doing the amount of work that that is involved in maintaining or adding new and unique features to the economy mod which increases realism and quality of life.

I would like to regularly dedicate at least 1-3 days out to the week strictly to working on all of my current content; plus more, but this decision must be supplemented by the help of my supporters.

 I will creating two separate version of the economy mod.

*A free to download Lite Version will have the very bare minimum features I feel are necessary for the mod such as Economy Market Updates, Skill and Banking Data Changes, Police and Fine Data Changes, Damage/Insurance Data Changes, and Truck/Trailer/Parts Unlocks.

This Lite Version will be utilized as a core version of the economy mod going forward and will be available via the steam workshop. It will have to be subscribed to and enabled in order to use features included in the paid version of the mod. With this method, any major future game updates should make updating the mods key features quick; with the goal of doing a same day mod update so that players can continue to play with the core of the economy mod with little to no issues at all.

*A paid version will be full featured, and include exclusive content and improvements such as Quick Job Truck/Used Truck Market reworks, exclusive paint jobs, enhanced banking data such as additional loan options, integrated fuel price discounts, early access to new features and content.

Membership Tiers

With the use of Patreon to support the mod, I have created some preliminary membership tiers to gauge feedback from players; and if they believe these tiers will be worth the cost. This list and prices is subject to change based on player feedback. Included benefits are also subject to change; there could be more or less to come with each tier as time goes on.

If you would like, you are more than welcome to subscribe to a tier level ahead of time as a show of support while I work on restoring some of the key mod features; as well as start adding in the new features and content expressed in the details below; but you are under no obligation to currently, as NO content of mine is behind a paywall at the time of this post; but it will be throughout the coming days/weeks.

  GDC Logistics Realistic Economy Mod: Classic and Hardcore Editions
  
  Most of you should know there are two versions of the economy mod. The original version; and a newer; more intense version.
  
  The original version of the economy mod launched back in 2020; right at the start of COVID. The timing could not have been more perfect; as many players struggled to survive during this time as the market was absolutely terrible. However as time went on; things got much easier; and while there was still some grinding involved; players have still been able to make great money and progress.
  
  This version will now be called the Classic Edition going forward; and both ATS and ETS2 versions are available on the Steam Workshop at this time.
  
  During game version 1.49 of ATS, we released a "Hardcore" beta version of the economy mod; which substantially reworked player progression; and forces players to be much more strategic with their finances and business decisions.
  
  I will soon be creating a document which goes into more detail about this version of the economy mod; but basic information can be found via this discord post; and if you have not yet experimented with it yet; I would advise waiting until I have done a few more updates to it to ensure a relatively smooth start up for you with a new profile. BUT if you insist on trying it out before a more feature packed version is released; an open beta can be found via Google Drive: ATS Version / ETS2 Version.
  
  With either version of the mod, Classic or Hardcore, you MUST enable the applicable version of the mod BEFORE starting your NEW profile; or some features may become broken
  
  Please refrain from using pre-existing profiles with this mod if said profile has never used it's respective versions to avoid having issues.
  
  Be Prepared to Grind.

  "Short Haul" Version
  
  This is a version of the economy mod that is to be used exclusively with 1:1 ratio maps such as MyGodness' Grand Utopia and Eblem's Esterlon Map; that I've been working on for quite some time. Its proving to be a bit more of a task than expected, as I have to make some fairly significant changes to certain areas of the the GDC Logistics' primary economy mod files for things to work smoothly; especially the Hardcore version. I can tell you that doing the hardcore version of the economy mod on a 1:1 map is absolutely grueling, so getting things balanced to the point where a majority of players will be up for the challenge is where we stand currently on this project.
  
  Me personally I've been enjoying it; but unless you can get lucky and snag a used truck that's in decent shape, expect to be doing quick jobs for a very long time.
  
  It took me about 2 and half months of playing almost every day of the week to earn enough money to snag a used truck on ATS for $18k, and a little over 2 months to earn $22k for a decent used truck on ETS2. This is where our Used Truck Market rework feature will come into play; as having lots of cheaper, yet fairly reliable- well spec'd used trucks available will give players a realistic goal to reach if they do not wish to endure nearly a year of driving quick job trucks.
