Rambles and an update
Added 2024-02-08 03:44:18 +0000 UTCMarty is a character that has been with me for a long time now. He's gone through many iterations and changes over the years. I understand what most people want and have wanted out of the character and I often failed to give that or capitalize on it. I think there's always been this aversion to ever dolling out what people want, not out of resentment but more out of fear of over exposure and ruining the mystique. They've been with me since 2007, so nearly 20 years are coming up soon. That is so wild to think about.
I don't know where that sort of timid romantic dog I made went, I'm not sure I can ever find him again. It's strange because he was as instrumental to myself as I know he was to others. Things to think about I guess.
To shift the tone a bit, I uploaded some Elgin stuff I've been doing lately, beefing up his backstory, and got a lot on my mind for him. I'll share when I can.

Like my boy, started off as the most clueless densest soft boy and over the years he's gotten better at picking up hints and changing gradually in stories. Roleplays, stories, things you see that remind you of your characters, all can shape and change your character over time. The one thing that doesn't change is it's still them. They're just different. I mean, are you the same person you were 20 years ago?
