Game of Thrones Uncut Reaction S4 E4

Game of Thrones Uncut Reaction S4 E4 'Oathkeeper'

Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.

Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.

Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.

These reactions DO NOT include our intros and discussions. You will have to refer to the original edited version of the video.

We hope you enjoy the video!

Same with everyone thinking Dany crucifying the Masters is a good call in the moment when it's clearly not.

Why does almost every reactor forget that Lord Bolton sent Locke to the wall to look for Bran and Rickon? It was literally only two episodes ago lol

N_JR

yup I think Tywin still won the spat and Olenna improvised after. Either way it was regarding the Cersei/loras marriage. The Royal Wedding was already in play.

Juan

99 sons 😎

IBRAHIM ALJABOR

Locke was sent by Roose Bolton to look for and kill Bran, and they suspected he was on his way to castle black to meet up with Jon. Locke wasn't actually sentenced there like most. It's easy to miss with how he's just suddenly up there though.

Frenzy

Not particularly relevant as these sacrifices were not something that started with Craster.

SuddenImpulse

Yup it was the scene where Theon/Reek is shaving Ramsay I'm pretty sure

James Woodford

nope

CpaSpartan Pudgey

hahaha

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Do you remember how many sons Crastor said he had?

gak9319

Damn, i did NOT remember this episode being this good ! Easily in the TOP 10 of best episodes.

Petteri Ahlberg

Spartan got all 3 guesses right from last episode! (although I would say the tywin olenna interaction, tywin still won, as the arrangement for cersei loras is still in play)

Been a subscriber since day one (of HOTD/GOT anyway) and... this is literally, LITERALLY the first time I've seen SPARTAN PAUSE THE VIDEO. OMG. Yeah, this is a milestone and I feel like I should go do something Aussie to celebrate. What would that be?? Outback Steakhouse sucks (at least here in NYC), sorry. And we have no roos or giant spiders stateside to fight (I hope). WHATEVER SHALL I DOOOO???

Julien

Btw, I find it hilarious how you guys are both equally trusting but equally cynical (paraphrasing here): About a possible event: Pudgey: It WILL happen Spartan: I don't trust this show About a character: Pudgey: I don't trust him Spartan: I do. Lol, you guys are great, stay as you are, I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves you. πŸ˜„

Loved the Oathkeeper scenes: how Jaime first saw Cersei hating Brienne, and then he proceeded to give Brienne every method of protection he could before sending her off. It actually hit me quite recently (the gifts being protection): The best sword there could be (one that was supposed to be a family heirloom, the balancing thing to his lost hand, no less), an expensive-looking proper armor (that matches the colour of her eyes) and which he clearly had had made for her as a true custom order (probably spent more than a 'better part of an afternoon' thinking about it too, and I mean by 'true custom order' that she's probably rather untypical as far as armored bodytypes go, so Jaime got to think about her measurements properly, luckily he had seen her in the bath, hahhah), and a brave and loyal squire to accompany her so that she wouldn't be alone on the road. Needless to say, Jaime and Tyrion scene was also a favourite. I love those two to bits.

SuddenImpulse030 the information about who killed Joffrey was already fully revealed in this episode (4x4) so you don't need to worry about that!

Tron

No you are correct. It was in fact a fairly drawn out scene that happened recently, they must have forgotten.

SuddenImpulse

ayyyy I’m pretty sure that there was a scene earlier with Roose Bolton telling Locke to go to the wall to look for Bran Stark and Jon Snow, if that comes up later that’s my bad

matt

@Rey you're right, the house's power is a factor, but i think the fact that the north is so wide and so difficult to keep into the fold plays a role too. The Boltons can rebel at anytime, and only Aegon's dragons could make them bend the knee in the past. Having a Lannister/Stark rule would be much safer. And yeah this whole plan was abandoned at this point after Sansa fled and Tyrion got imprisoned, but before that, Tywin mentioned on numerous occasions about the importance of having that child. He even suggested that Tyrion should rape Sansa to achieve that.

HDN

That’s true. But I think the difference to the Bolton scenario is the power of the house. The Tyrells are one of the biggest houses. So he can’t really control them. But the Boltons are compared relatively small. So I think it should be enough to control Bolton. But yeah I guess having Tyrions son would be even more safe. But like I said he does not really seem to concerned about it

Rey Jr

@Rey Strictly speaking, he also doesn't need to marry Cersei to Loras to "secure the Reach" (which was his reasoning when he informed Cersei about the arrangement). His alliance with the Tyrells is very strong if he were to make Margaery queen. I think what he was aiming for is seizing all the power for the Lannisters really, rather than just making alliances and sharing the power.

HDN

That would be true. But now that Tyrion is on trial he does not really seem to concerned about it. I mean yes having Sansa and Tyrions child would be good. But even without the child he has the Boltons. So it does not really make any difference to him except that he has some trust issues. Or not ?

Rey Jr

@Rey Remember he already told Tyrion in a conversation that the Boltons will rule the North until Tyrion's kid with Sansa comes of age (if not before). I don't think Tywin fully trusts treasonous cunts to secure the North for him in the long run, + his son ruling is way better for his family than Boltons.

HDN

I have a question. With Bolton does Tywin really need Sansa ? He already has the north secured with his alliance with Bolton.

Rey Jr

Very surprised that Spartan went back to Olenna's scene with Tywin. Remember that it all started when Varys told Olenna that Littlefinger is dangerous and that he's planning on taking Sansa. She initially plotted to marry Sansa to Loras, as in going against Littlefinger's plans, but when Tywin "retaliated" she decided to take advantage of Littlefinger's ambitions. She kills Joffrey and gets what she wants, and Baelish gets Sansa which means Tywin loses the key to the North. Her initial rival became her ally.
