Game of Thrones Full-Length Uncut S3 E8 'Second Sons'

Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.

Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means weโ€™ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.

Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if weโ€™re about to pause, thereโ€™ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.

These reactions DO NOT include our intros and discussions. You will have to refer to the original edited version of the video.

We hope you enjoy the video!

SuddenImpulse

George has spoken about it in interviews two or three times. Not that it is a certainty, but that it is a belief by some inhabitants of Westeros. Not unlike the truth telling in the Godswood thing. It might also be in the World of Ice and Fire book and/or one of the lore & history videos, but I am not positive on that one. People have mentioned this now and again in the youtube comments.

Who told this man that the Weirwood tree sap was a "bad omen," cause he says it every time he sees a Weirwood? I don't think I've ever seen that corroborated anywhere either lol

Khan Battle

Pudgy picked up on it, and commented about it right after Tyrion said it.

Khan Battle

Not sure if you are/or even if you should be reading any comments anymore, but just in case, a cool little detail that I think you guys missed: when Tyrion says to Sansa "And now my watch begins..." he was paraphrasing the Nights Watch vow of chastity... ๐Ÿ˜‰

One of the most fun things about rewatching this series with you is getting to see scenes that we know then played out later in the series. It took so long between seasons sometimes, especially as the show went on, that it was easy to forget things that happened in the previous seasons. So many things are put into place in this season that are going to get call backs coming up, sometimes way later in the show. Glad you're back!

HeyHeyJK

Ah, I love Tyrion even more after this ep (and wonder how on earth I can detest Joffrey even more than before but here we have it). One thing that came to mind while watching your reaction: even though we see Tyrion and Cersei together a lot these days, I think it's interesting how Jaime and Tyrion are both accompanied now by persons who embody innocence - Jaime has befriended Brienne and Tyrion is now married to Sansa, both men are viewed definitely as less innocent than the women in their company, and both want to protect these women. Another way of showing how Jaime and Tyrion are alike, I think, even though they have their differences in circumstance and looks and everything (i.e., this likeness in personality is a great contrast to how they are treated/seen differently etc.).

S.

Does it say that in ADWD or a AFFC? (half way through AFFC), or did I miss it in an earlier book?

In the books Tywin killed the Reyneโ€™s of Castmere in a way more brutal way idk why they changed it. He flooded their castle with water he re-routed from a river cause the Reynes were hiding out in the mines underneath their castle so they all drowned within minutes.
