are you mental, he has been mistreated his entire life by everyone, including Tywin, he is the reason Kings Landing was not taken by Stannis and he still got no credit, wont even let him inherit Casterly Rock. You're watching a completely different show apparently. You're probably the only person who has ever watched it to not like Tyrion. Sansa is a finer reward? He doesn't want to because he thinks it's cruel for her, not because he doesn't like her. Apparently you are the real life Tywin, absolutely no consideration for her

I hate Tyrion, Tywin gives him everything regardless of how much he hates him; because he’s principled & Tyrion complicates it by having Shae there. Sansa’s a finer reward than anything anyone got for the battle of blackwater bay

Just fyi. Robb's sword is not valyrian steel. The only valyrian steel sword the starks had was the one Ned had, and that was used to chop off his head. Unfortunately, the Lannisters are still in possession of that.
Valyrian steel swords are extremely rare, even among the powerful Nobel houses. There are only a handful in the entire world. Even the Lannisters, the richest and arguably most powerful house, don't have a valyrian steel sword. It's a source of great pride to have one.
And you don't need a valyrian steel sword to cut a head off properly. Any well trained warrior can do it without one. Then was just weak and indecisive.

I've been so excited for you to get to this episode and hear the real story of Jaime and the Mad King from Jaime's perspective. It's a complete mind shift from what we thought about him. I die when you hear, "Jaime. My name's Jaime."
So many wonderful moments in this: Beric Dondarrion's fight with the Hound and his subsequent resurrection by Thoros of Myr; Jon and Ygritte in the cave; Jaime and Brienne in the baths; Arya and Gendry parting; the deaths of the Lannister children and the execution of Lord Karstark; Lord Beric talking about how pieces of him get chipped away each time he comes back and Arya asking Thoros if he can bring back a man without a head; Stannis' daughter Shireen with Davos; Grey Worm choosing to keep his slave name... This show is just way too dang good.

About why Jaime told Brienne his secret: the story is prompted by him expressing trust towards her but she gives him only a scoffing look in return after sitting down. So bitterly, Jaime then proceeds to tell her the story and asks her basically if she still considers him unworthy of her trust. Good pickup from Spartan about why Brienne most likely was first afraid in the corner of the tub - the first sign of her not trusting him at the beginning of this scene.

Is there a way you can just boot the people who spoil from Patreon altogether? If they care enough to donate, they clearly know the rules already. Zero respect for the creators. It's just unfortunate for everyone else who would never do that and now those bad actors have to make it hard on everyone else.
thank u next

Loved the reaction. I know it was commented under the full length video, but after hearing Spartan's insistence, it bears repeating here: Robb is ALREADY married! He CANNOT take a second wife! Polygamy was not even acceptable in the time of House of the Dragon - plus he is NOT a Targaryen with their crazy customs anyways! lol

This may just last a day or two, it might last longer. Since people can't seem to just follow the spoiler rules we are temporarily just screenshotting all safe comments for S&P and having them read those because there have been too many short risky comments that they have to manually delete since when politely asked, most people never delete/revise them themselves. Just being transparent here. They are still reading your guys' comments. We might have to adjust how Patreon comments are handled for them so that they can still respond to you guys without getting spoiled. We all value and appreciate you patreons extremely. Maintaining the integrity, authenticity and quality of these reactions for S&P and you patreons is our top priority as that is ultimately what you are her re for and financially supporting. Really not fair to you all that are following common sense rules, so I apologize.

Obviously Barristan didn't know. So rather, Jorah was tryna assess if he heard things on the council that might make him realize or put together Jorah's betrayal.
For example, in Jorah's mind, it's possible that a nameless informant was discussed on the council and now that Barristan is here, he could put it together. Etc.

Lol yeah. Tywin has a way of making all of us regress to childhood.
And I love how in many interviews the cast members describe the actor as having the same commanding presence on set, but just charming and kind instead. Apparently he strolled in every day like he owned the place, and complimented people left and right. Loll

Failing to show Jaime as a brilliant swordsman before he lost his hand is one of the Ls of the show.
Yes people say it in the show but it's just not the same as actually seeing it. His failed escape from captivity in season 2 was the perfect occasion to see him cut thru like 5 men as if they were nothing. But budgets, etc.
Losing a hand is horrible for anyone but for a guy whose entire self-worth is bound up in his sword fighting skills, it's an unimaginable catastrophe. Jaime WAS that hand, and when they took it away, they took everything he was.

Jaime has always been self-centered and selfish. He thinks his biggest 'crime' is killing his king but it is doing absolutely nothing while his Lannister men raped and pillage Kingslanding.
After Ned got to Kingslanding, he saw the brutal scene of a ruined Kingslanding and headed straight for the Red Keep to see a dead king and a smug Jaime sitting on the throne. I would have the same reaction.

Been waiting for this episode..
Definitely a top 5 episode for the series.
I think the advice Tyrion gave John about owning his being a bastard and wearing it like armor really applies to Jaimes character. For years people have called him Kingslayer, oathbreaker man without honor, so that's how he presents himself but underneath it all he longs to be the honorable white cloak he always wanted to be. Irony is probably his greatest, most honorable act as a knight is what brings him dishonor and infamy.
The show made a few changes that kinda contradict this like killing his cousin which spartan mentioned.
Always enjoy rewatching with yall 🤙🔥💯

Omg you finally made it to my favorite scene on all of TV. Jaime and Brienne in the tub is such a brilliant scene, both from an acting and story perspective. Jaime is my favorite character, in anything. He's a brilliant example of how to write a character with depth. His season 3 arc is so brilliant
And I gotta say, I'm really impressed with how insightful Spartan was in understanding both Jaime and Ned in that backstory. A lot of people don't fully understand why Ned judged Jaime, but it's very in character for Ned. It's such a tragic misunderstanding, and that sort of embodies Jaime's character. He's jaded and cynical because of the way he's been treated his whole life for his most heroic act.

I always liked Jamie, because he is complex. Not totally bad and definitely not totally good. Like there are characters like Ned that have this sense of justice, and that’s fair and respectful but we need characters like Jamie, because we don’t know if he will chose the right or the wrong

I really wish I could like Jamie's character more. I feel for him in this scene and this situation in general.
However, whenever I think I might be warming up to him more, all I can see is him pushing a child off a tower. And harming innocent children is something I'm never going to be okay with.

I'm so proud of them for getting the implications immediately - what it must have felt like to carry that on your back for 17 years while knowing that it's moot what you would say in your defense as Ned Stark's opinion would never be disregarded over your POV. Well done, Pudgey and Spartan!

Ps. People should definitely watch the first eps of HotD again - they used the unreliable narrator technique with Daemon: they gave us likable people as protagonists we automatically trust (R & V), and then had Otto twist their opinion regarding Daemon so that we, too, saw him as evil and power-hungry even though Viserys defended him in the first half of ep 1, saying Daemon doesn't want the throne. It's utterly brilliant to watch that first ep again, listen to what Daemon says about himself in contrast to what the other characters say about him - and how Daemon enforced that twisted perception of himself through his conduct. (I'm not saying Jaime and Daemon are the same as characters, just that the same narrative technique is used to lead the viewers' opinion of a character.)

Finally you are here! I will probably remember the bath scene until I die. I still remember vividly the slow realisation, the rush of starting immediately to remember what had been said about Jaime so far in the series and most importantly what he had said about himself. I think that was the first time I experienced the unreliable narrator technique used this effectively, it changed me as a viewer, reader and writer. Nowadays I love stories that do this. Just brilliant, utterly brilliant.
I also loved the ending scene, always love when the Lannister siblings are together. This was maybe one of my favourites from Cersei and Tyrion. And Tywin, of course.
