Game of Thrones 3x3 Reaction and Review

Comments

I'm actually with Spartan in terms of Dany!

Josie De Jong

I’m glad Spartan gave Catelyn a little bit of praise. She’s made some decisions that in hindsight weren’t great, but always for her children. And let’s not forget, she sent Jamie off with Brienne because so many men in Robb’s camp wanted him dead. A dead bargaining chip is good for no one, and would have eliminated all hope of getting the girls back.

Podrick is the man! Shame on you for doubting his "skills" :-)

Daniel Vieira

Well, she captured Tyrion = Jaime fought Ned = wounded Ned was in no position to defend himself later even if he had wanted to do so. Of course more ties with this, Ned was fighting a losing battle and lost because of his own choices, but Catelyn did knock one of the dominos down. Sure, she shouldn't blame herself nor should anyone else blame her, but she didn't help Ned keep his head, either. Though like I said, I agree.

S.

What did Catelyn have to do with neds death ?

Rey Jr

Think we’ve hit the point where it’s just banger after banger, can’t wait

Christopher

Yesss! Love cat - her character has so much depth. And I agree. Its easy to blame her for everything because she captured tyrion (for family, Tully again), but as you stated theres a long line of mistakes Ned made that got him to where he was.

Nana-Afia

Yeah the Blackfish is pretty cool. For the record, what Catelyn did actually makes her a BETTER representation of the Tully family. Their family motto is "Family, Duty, Honour" and the order is meaningful. They're supposed to always put family first. Which is what Catelyn did when she set Jaime free in exchange for Sansa and Arya. Also for the record, Catelyn didn't cause Ned's death. He caused his own death by making foolish decisions like warning Cersei that he knew the truth and was going to tell Robert, by not doing what Renly suggested and taking Joffrey into Custody the night before Robert died, and by not accepting Littlefinger's advice. I don't think it had anything to do with Catelyn.

Omggg y’all are so close, I’m so excited for y’all to see the rest of this season.. it’s one to remember

Enjoying these reactions a lot! Your grasp of the story is getting better and better all the time! Loved the Dani/Robb discussion/reaction to their managing styles comparison in the comments too. Happy people brought it up. I am glad Spartan managed to give some props to Catelyn. She is such a great character, mistakes included - plus, amongst those mistakes, it seems you guys keep ignoring the fact that Jaime was most definitely going to get killed in Robb's camp that night if she didn't send him away with Brienne. Also, from your intro discussion, it feels you are a bit confused about wargs. Wargs are people that have the ability to enter the minds of animals and see the world through their eyes. The wildling Orrell can warg into his eagle. Bran can warg into his direwolf Summer - we have seen this several times in previous episodes. Wargs do not share a connection with each other. Bran ALSO has some kind of prophetic dreams, where he keeps on seeing that three-eyed raven, same as the new kid - Jojen Reed - but that is NOT THE SAME as warging.

Calu

Absolutely.

Pudgey is so pretty and smart! love her reactions

Stop commenting this everywhere. It's been said a million times since they started the show that the mods are already aware. It seems like you just want to keep mentioning a spoiler.

FullMetal B

I hope you mods have told you to skip S3 ep 4 13:52 - 14:08 (title sequence included in time stamp)… those 16 seconds SPOIL the entirety of how HOTD ends 🤣 skipping that won’t do anything to ruin you GOT experience btw. 🤝

the butcher's boy was taken too early from us

Locke

bruh delete this shit

Locke

Y'all are awesome, lookin foward to the next one!

Your reactions to Jaime's lost hand is HILARIOUS, Sparatan's slow realization and Pudgey's horrified shock. Things are getting interesting, isn't it ironic Jaime's a bit of a cripple now too, justice for Bran huh? While watching the symbol in snow left by White Walkers I was like no way they remember seeing that in episode 1 and literally Pudgey did, what a good catch! And I love how much Spartan remembers the butcher's boy. How are you guys feeling about Season 3 so far?

Julie

The hand that was cut off of Jamie was his right hand, his main sword fighting hand. I think spartan was right that Jamie probably would’ve preferred losing an eye.

Malorie

rob is a very good commander. much in history first sons are not great tacticians. ned taught his son very well.

Stannis loves grammar.

I think Robb and Dany do things differently - Robb wants to be cunning in war tactics but he's still his father's son, whereas Dany does not shy away from being ruthless (I think Robb wouldn't have locked anybody to rot in an empty vault, for example). To be clear, I'm not justifying treating men and women differently, but in this case I can understand why anyone could feel that Dany can be rather cold at times. It's not the leadership that is giving pause but her style of it is sometimes a bit harsh. Understandably so - she has not seen other style of ruling - but still.

S.

The people who prepare the dead are mostly the Silent Sisters. They seem to do work as field medics, priestess's and morticians in the GOT universe. Its interesting since HOD put a bigger focus on them for just a scene, (Vaemund's autopsy)

Birdseed

I'm curious as to why Robb is praised for stepping into his role of command, but when dany does it it's, "pipe down". Theyre both young people that have had distressing situations and proved victorious. Robb with his battles, and Dany stepping into the fire/escaping the tower of undying. Idkk... Its giving main theme of HOTD - women aren't/cant be good leaders (reason why rhaenyra is usurped in the first place), spartan. Just a thought I had while watching and wanted to bring perspective. Anyways, I really loved the endcredit song because it was so jarring to hear after what happened. Sucks that he lost his hand, but I'm glad he helped Brienne out. Hes been waiting for karma to catch up with him anyways, lol. All love

Nana-Afia

I love all the small council meetings! Always something to pick up on. I saw a comment once that pointed out the chair scene symbolizes the characters ideology surrounding power. Tywin the ultimate power in the realm. Cersei exploits her familiarity to sit as close to power as she can. Baelish on the other side playing his role, while reaching closer to that ultimate power. Varys in the middle because he's okay with not being the most powerful, he is the spider after all. Pycell being his smallest flower, just happy to be there, is seated at the end. Tyrion challenges tywins authority by seating himself at the end.

Nana-Afia

Jaime might be hard to get because his attitudes towards things have been expressed mostly by single lines of dialogue and/or just with looks/tone of voice so far. Why did he kill his cousin (one he couldn't remember ever meeting, i.e. a stranger to him)? But yeah, that was his sword hand they cut. He and Brienne were taken by Bolton men as they stated in last ep. I loved the small council scene! Such a power play between everybody, just delicious, I live for that kind of storytelling!
