Honestly, I think season 1 should be re-watched and reacted to one more time, in the same fashion you both do GOT, where you have a discussion before and after. Plus, once you're done with GOT Season 8, and know the full story, and lore surrounding Westeros, you'll have a better viewing experience of HOTD. I know you're going to start Breaking Bad after GOT, and also do other live tv shows, but you could do one episode of HOTD each week, or month. Or better yet, you could do another reaction of Season 1 closer to the release of Season 2 of HOTD, which will help you and us remember the first season before getting into the newer one. Also, you do have a valid excuse of re-reacting to Season 1, since you didn't do a full reaction of episodes 1 through 3 for Patreon members. :)

Also yes, the dragons have some lower level psychic and emotional bond with their riders. Syrax was feeling the pain and distress from Rhaenyra's childbirth. You are correct the fire arrow scene was another example.

But here, one dog is big like a delivery van and the other is the size of an airliner. When they say "fuck you," there is literally nothing anyone can do about it. I really want to know what made Viserys understand this, personal experience or the histories he studies so much.

2022-10-25 15:29:09 +0000 UTCBoth Arrax and Vhagar disobeyed. Arrax shot fire at Vhagar against Lucerys wishes and Vhagr hunted Arrax down against Aemonds. I think it's to do with the bond that they share. Lucerys was scared so Arrax was reflecting his mood but chose a fight instead of a flight response. With Aemond he still feels wronged by having his eye removed and being ridiculed by Lucerys at dinner so there is still that hate that Vhagr knows and acts on. The thing is dragons despite being intelligent creatures don't know about consequence hence why Aemond is shattered about Luke's death because of what this will men. That's my interpretation of it at least

Bartimos who had the white hair and was standing around the war table at the beginning is a Celtigar who along with Targareyns and Velaryons are the last of the people from old Valyria. Also, the dragon daemon is singing to is vermithor, King jaehaerys dragon who has been riderless since he died and hasnt had much human contact.

2022-10-25 13:41:59 +0000 UTCthis episode was definitely either the best or 2nd best of the season. incredible tension, build up, developments - the only thing i didn't fully understand at first was the whole daemon choke scene, felt a little off but given what he'd just gone through + realising that when he was heir he was never TRULY heir, as viserys never entrusted the prophecy on him. it's easy to forget he's actually a pretty fucked up dude. also the dragon flashbacks/visions during the birth scene - i might be wrong as i'm not a bookreader but i THINK that was rhaenyra's dragon feeling the pain she was feeling, i believe it's said that dragons form bonds so powerful with their long-time riders that their pain is somewhat shared? kinda like how in episode 3 when daemon got shot by the flaming arrow, his dragon screamed out in pain too.
