Game of Thrones Full-Length Uncut S1 E9

Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.

Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.

Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.

These reactions DO NOT include our intros and discussions. You will have to refer to the original edited version of the video.

We hope you enjoy the video!

I really enjoyed watching this episode through your eyes. I was a book reader before the show and I had even had the book spoiled for me, so I never had the experience of watching the end of the episode and not being sure what was going to happen. I've seen other shows where you think, no no they won't execute the main character and then somehow they don't. In this case, they did. What a shock for new viewers.

yeah that is still considered illegal. Those Patreons are risking getting their vids taken down or even sued. They are just playing with fire whether or not they manage to escape it short term or long term.

Sorry i only meant the audio lol. I know you can't show the entire episode and all creators have to use editing to keep it fair use. I usually see the screen cut in half like yall do and they haze out the rest a bit and only leave where you can see the subtitles clear while still keeping the audio. I find myself watching and listening to your reactions while cooking so can always sync up a full episode on another screem aswell. Either way was just curious and cant wait to see the rest of your reactions to this amazing story GRRM has created. Much love

Tae Kellz

Hey Tae, unfortunately it is against copyright law to show the entire show, so we show enough to help people sync up their copy. We know some Creatora show more but this is technically illegal and can get them into a lot of trouble. welcome to our patreon we greatly appreciate your support!

So i just joined this patreon yesterday and was curious as to why they edit out the dialog for entire episodes. I understand copyright reasons but i follow several other patreons that react to GOT and HOTD and don't do this. Still love yalls reactions though. Definitely have a new fan here

Welcome to Game of Thrones :)

There may be some lost mystique for that reveal, but for me it has some new impact now, since I've gained more appreciation for the Targaryen history.

Spartan+Pudgey: Yes, Julien's comments as well as Calu's above me on this post are great and should definitely be read. Try to separate HotD from this show in most cases. Outside of the dagger and the fact the Targaryen house was wiped out aside from Danaerys, Viserys and Maester Aemon during Roberts Rebellion there really is not much relevance to this show due to the 170 year distance between the two. There were zero plans at the time to even make HotD when this show was even in it's later seasons.

SuddenImpulse

Second ALL the comments from Julien. The Targaryen blood/lineage connection to HOTD - though interesting - is not that critical to GOT. The one thing that is worth tracking in both shows is Aegon the Conqueror's dagger - King Viserys' dagger in HOTD, which is the same dagger used to try to kill Bran, and really, what starts the war between the Lion and the Wolf - Remember that dagger has a prophecy within. Just keep in mind that even though this show is called Game of Thrones, the story is called A Song of Ice and Fire.

Calu

The events of House of the Dragon happened like 170 years before GOT. That's many generations. Nothing that happened then has any direct bearing on GOT. I wouldn't worry about trying to figure out decendants, etc. There are no plot connections between the shows. The revelation that Maester Aemon is a Targaryen is supposed to be of some impact because they were all thought to be gone (except Dany and brother I guess). The impact of that scene is dulled somewhat by HOTD because you're watching Targaryens there every week. But from the perspective of GOT, they were these extraordinary people who ruled for 300 years, rode dragons, and were eventually deposed by King Robert. So a mystique of sorts surrounds the memory of Targaryens (most embodied by Daenerys) for anyone who watches GOT first. They are people who have a distinctive look (silver hair) and had the ability to ride dragons (!). And they are gone. That mystique is a little bit lost since you watched HOTD first. Not a big deal, just wanted to clarify why the revelation that Aemon was a Targaryen mattered. He is from a line of dragon-riding kings in a world where they no longer exist.

Julien

To see Ned, a man who holds his honor so dear, betray everything he stood for to bring infamy to his name, house, and memory - and die anyway, is one of the most painful things I've experienced in fiction. It's an astonishingly cruel scene. I hope the last thing that went thru his mind was that Arya at least was safe (or at least free from the Lannisters) and that his death bought Sansa her life.

Julien

Just a note - Jaime did not do that to hurt Tyrion, he was just trying to get his brother laid.
