Game of Thrones Full Length Uncut S1 E1

Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.

Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.

Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.

These reactions DO NOT include our intros and discussions. You will have to refer to the original edited version of the video.

Please follow these steps to sync up the video:

1. Click on the video on the patreon page so that it will open up on Youtube itself.

2. Go to the top right corner of your browser (in this case Firefox or Chrome) and click on the 3 lines or 3 dots respectively.

3. Select More Tools from the drop down menu.

4. Select Developer Tools/Web Developer Tools

5. This will open up a new screen within your webpage. Find the tab that says "console". Click where you see the little arrow with blank area.

6. Type in the following (I don't advise copy+paste as sometimes it doesn't like that) exactly as shown here: $("video").playbackRate=0.96

7. Press enter. Close that aforementioned window. Watch the video alongside your copy as normal.

Since this is a micro-second adjustment, your internet speed may make this vary just slightly, so you might have to pause once or twice to perfectly sync it with your own, just like with any other show, but after that it should be consistent the ENTIRE video without any further effort on your part. This should be sufficient for watching reactions for most people until this other solution we are working on is complete.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding with this!

We hope you enjoy the video!

Syncing episodes to this reaction seem impossible as the timing is so off your Copy of this show is moving very fast and I don’t know why

I had a very hard time syncing this Episode. I am watching mine on HBO Max (U.S. Version), and I think that's what you guys are using. It will be perfectly synced, and then for no reason, there will be a 5-10 second discrepancy. I spent the whole video hitting stop and play. Hopefully, the next Episode will be better.

I am strapping my seatbelt in to get ready to watch this Series with you. If you have any questions, I'm your girl m, because I have seen this and "Lord of the Rings" a million times. I have a ton of "Funko Pops" and weapons from both. I am about to have a half-body suit tattoo of "LotR" finished, and I have a "GoT" tattoo as well, that represents my marriage and the "Starks". I am starting your videos today on my 5 Years & 6 Months Sobriety Date. Here we go. 🏰🏰🏰 (πŸ…°οΈπŸŽΆOf🧊&πŸ”₯)

Hellooo πŸ™‚ So I’m having a hard time with step 3 and finding the β€œmore tools” option. Is this because it’s required on a computer? I was trying to do it from a phone. Thanks

IMPORTANT UPDATE: ****Anyone having syncing issues please try this and get back to me with your results.**** This is for the US version (HBO Max) as that is the only version I have. If there are further discrepancies between versions, they should be fairly close to this number. This is just the solution we are trying for the moment. We are working on better solution that will work long term and not require fiddling around on the part of you guys, just a normal video match like how every other show normally works. Please follow these steps. I am being extra detailed so anyone should be able to follow this easily: 1. Click on the video on the patreon page so that it will open up on Youtube itself. 2. Go to the top right corner of your browser (in this case Firefox or Chrome) and click on the 3 lines or 3 dots respectively. 3. Select More Tools from the drop down menu. 4. Select Developer Tools/Web Developer Tools 5. This will open up a new screen within your webpage. Find the tab that says "console". Click where you see the little arrow with blank area. 6. Type in the following (I don't advise copy+paste as sometimes it doesn't like that) exactly as shown here: $("video").playbackRate=0.96 7. Press enter. Close that aforementioned window. Watch the video alongside your copy as normal. In my repeated testing this is either EXACT to the screen transitions and dialogue or exceptionally close. I watched the entire episode through this way with no fiddling necessary. Since this is a micro-second adjustment, your internet speed may make this vary just slightly, so you *might* have to pause once or twice to perfectly sync it with your own, just like with any other show, but after that it should be consistent the ENTIRE video without any further effort on your part. This should be sufficient for watching reactions for most people until this other solution we are working on is complete. Thank you again for your patience and understanding with this!

Concerning bastards they don't inherit their father's second name if they are born of a lord. So since Ned is the father and Lord of Winterfell he fathered Jon in the North. Hence the name Snow. If a bastard is born in the riverlands you get the surname "rivers" in the stormlands you get the name "storm". It's more a location thing.

We've noticed that the US copy doesn't align properly... we've come to the conclusion that there might be extra content beforehand. We have the visual aid as another way to assist you to sync up the video. We've been told that it's pretty easy to sync up when looking at that. Let us know if you still have issues 😁

Lola

what platform are you watching the show on? HBO? i'm having trouble lining up my copy of the show, yours just seems to run faster than mine which causes them to become out of sync immediately

I'm about to watch this, but I noticed Shahrez comment. I would like to explain this slightly more in depth because it is actually VERY interesting how this works. Jon Snow is Ned's son, but not Catelyn's. So he is considered a "bastard child" which are looked down upon with disdain by Westerosi society. The stigma of illegitimacy is so great that all acknowledged bastards born to a noble in Westeros have to identify themselves through a specific surname marking them as a bastard, which varies by region. So you can actually tell where one is from based on their last name. They are as follows: Snow: The North Flowers: The Reach Hill: The Westerlands Pyke: The Iron Islands Rivers: The Riverlands Sand: Dorne Stone: The Vale Storm: The Stormlands Waters: The Crownlands (where King's Landing, the Capitol, is located) Note: This only applies to those born of noblemen, not smallfolk (aka the common people).

SuddenImpulse

Great reaction! As to ur question about Jon Snow, in this world, you only inherit the family name if your parents are lawfully wed. Jon’s father is indeed Ned Stark (the main guy) but Catelyn Stark is not his mother.
