Sorry, I should have clarified/worded that better. I meant more the different families in general, and the manipulation thing in a pretty broad sense. Basically just that the mechanations of these family and marriage politics ended up resulting in all of this. =) You make a good point about Viserys' health in that moment however, I agree.

2022-09-20 08:22:30 +0000 UTCI figured the reason he didn't do anything at the wedding is because he was kind of dying, I also don't see how he manipulated his daughter, sure he was suggesting matches for her and in the end chose one since she refused but I'd hardly call it manipulation.

2022-09-20 07:25:45 +0000 UTCTwo things here: 1. You asked about Alicent's position if Rhaenyra became queen. She would go from being Queen to Dowager-Queen (a queen who lost her husband). It's a prestigious position still, but below the King, current Queen, and Hand of the King. Other relevant positions that are referred to in both shows: -Queen/King Regent =Basically just means the actual ruler. So Rhaenyra would be the Queen-Regent if she became Queen, because she is the actual ruler and heir. Another situation this would be used is when, for example, if the male ruler dies, and their son, who is heir, is too young to be king (say they are 12 for example). Then either the Queen would be the Regent (ruler) or the Hand of the King, the 2nd highest position, would become Regent, until the son came of age. Basically a temporary leader. Queen-King Consort-In this situation, Laenor would be the King Consort. Simply put, its the man or woman that is married to the actual ruler. So generally the ranking is: 1. Regent 2. Hand of the King 3. Consort 4. Dowager Queen/Queen-Mother 5. Small Council 2. I love that final depressing shot. It's a brilliant symbolism for the state of the realm 3 times over: -Two people who don't want to be wed getting married in tears. -The King no longer able to stand, the crown falling from his head in the process. -A rat in the Throne Room, feasting/benefiting from the blood that was just spilled.
