In Progress Short Story by SolusSlayer44 - Apart of a Render/Story Collab releasing soon.

Carlos scanned the research facility, the intel he received from the BSAA had stated that Umbrella has been using this base to work on something extremely classified before they went dark a few days ago. According to satellite scans the site was fairly active with vehicles incoming several hours a day. However, the place seemed to be completely shut down with not even guards patrolling the gate in their usual pattern.

Carlos felt a bit uneasy running this solo, but trusted the intel he received and knew now would be the best time to strike to cripple Umbrella even more. Serves those bastards right, for what they did to me he thought darkly, hopping out of the SUV and walking towards the locked gate.

Finding a biometric pad to enter the lab he pulled out a remote hacking device that made quick work of the lock that let out a ping of approval as the gate slowly opened. The yard leading to the entrance seemed completely dead with only birds chirping in the distance. Making sure to do a thorough scan before proceeding the agent found no hostels and decided to press forward.

Making it to the entrance of the facility Carlos did note the camera’s did seem to be active and decided to disable them with a quick shot of his pistol from cover before entering. Opening the entrance he was met with an eerie silence as he walked into the sterile hallway.

Medical equipment seemed haphazardly left on carts in the middle of the hallway, notes and file folders were scattered across the floor in a mess of embossed paper. “What the hell happened here.” He murmured, making sure to collect the papers for the BSAA to process later.

Slowly Carlos walked forward, making sure his gun was raised in-case Umbrella had any “surprises” left behind for anyone who decided to snoop inside. Strangely nothing popped up as he swept the rooms, only noting that things felt lived in with food and cups of coffee still being left on tables and desks.

A massive lab was at the end of the hallway, marked with frosted glass with the signature Umbrella symbol. Carlos sneered wanting nothing more than to burn this place to the ground and move on, already knowing what these assholes had planned no doubt.

Opening the lab doors Carlos noted several beakers of chemicals left out in the open, as if no one put them away after using them. There was also an alert on the screen reading: WARNING Gas Leak Imminent, please evaluate immediately. It would explain why the place was looking more like a ghost town currently.

In the corner of his eye though Carlos spotted some movement near one of the desks on the other side of the lab. Raising his gun he cautiously moved forward, ready to unload onto anything that decided to get in his face.

Squinting he tried to see if a BOW was anywhere to be seen, before sensing something was hiding underneath the table. Slowly he pulled back the desk chair and raised his gun only to freeze spotting a couple of men in rags cowering in the corner. “Well shit.” He said out loud crouching to get a better look at the tiny men.

The shrunken human appeared to only be an inch tall, all of them wearing dirty rags in lieu of clothes. In the corner it appeared they tried to scavenge some food and water with a discarded water bottle and an old bag of chips.

Finally it clicked in Carlos’ head that these were probably the same scientists working in this lab, possibly shrunken down due to whatever gas leak they had. His expression darkened immediately, quickly grabbing one of the tiny men and deciding to get some answers.

“What happened?” He demanded, seeing the miniscule man tremble in his palm at the boom of his voice. Carlos had little time for niceties, especially since these scientist’s were all loyal to Umbrella.

As the tiny man tried to speak Carlos just heard squeaks, barely being able to hear anything at all. Growing annoyed, the mercenary brought the man to his ear to help decipher his pathetic voice.

“... laboratory accident where a contagion leaked.” was all that he made out, before snatching the little annoyance from his ear already knowing all that he needed to. Carlos chuckled as he felt the man desperately grab onto his fingers to ensure he didn’t fall off.

So it seemed Umbrella was looking at creating a new virus, but during its creation a chemical spilled shrinking all laboratory personnel inside. Knowing the corporation, Carlos deduced that most decided to leave and cut their losses. Better watch out and make sure I don’t come into contact with that stuff he thought, not wanting to end up bug sized as well.

Looking down, he could see the tiny men had all came out of hiding, many of them still shivering in their makeshift clothes wondering what he had planned for them. Truth be told, he was tempted to crush the Umbrella scum right there and then.

Carlos could imagine them all pathetically trying to run as he took one step forward as dirt clad treads came down from the sky and ground them all into nothing. Slowly enclosing his hand into a fist until the man on his palm was nothing but a red smear.

However, he resisted these urges knowing he needed to extract some more information from these Umbrella agents. Even though they mainly worked in a lab he mercenary knew they would be a wealth of information to help decode any intel they collect.

During this inner debate Carlos didn’t realize he was tapping his foot, a small habit he usually paid no mind to. For the tiny men though it was a terrifying ordeal, as each TAP sent them to their feet. All of them were subjected to the raw power of this giant, spying the mixture of dirt and grass underneath his threads, knowing they could easily be next. They silently prayed that this titanic man bore no ill will towards them, or they would probably all be doomed.

Carlos decided they needed to go to a more secure location if he was to get any answers. Spying the man gripping onto his thumb as if their life depended he couldn’t help but sneer.

Without ceremony he tossed the scientist in his utility vest, before bending down to the other men who were gawking at him. Some tried desperately to run away, but were unable to dodge his massive hand. In one quick motion Carlos was able to contain the other’s in one single palm, feeling their struggles and hearing frantic squeaks. It was a bit of a power rush for the man, knowing he has so much power over his enemies.

Opening up his pocket he smirked down at the tinies seeing them begging to be released. “Enjoy the ride, bugs.” He chuckled, dropping them inside the pocket before sealing it up and giving it a slight pat.
