Character Stats/ Ability Mockup

Okay so here's a rough mockup of how characters will function.  This is all subject to change obviously but this is a rough idea of how things will work. To keep things simple and clear, character will have 3 slots where they can modify their character abilities. For now, the 3 ability categories being: Attack, Defense and Magic.

Characters will start with unique abilities and stats, you'll obtain  enhancements or artifacts to modify your abilities further.  This will give you the freedom to customize your character in a variety of ways. 

Attack Abilities

Got a rogue with fast attack and high crit damage? Add a counter attack enhancement so each time he gets hit he automatically counter attacks. ( One of my most favorite abilities ever! )   Or take a champion who already has high HP and add a Berzerk enhancement ( Do more damage the lower you health gets ).

Defense Abilities 

Maybe you want to make a super tank so you just stack Armor points, Hitpoint or add a Blocking enhancement. Maybe a magic resistances?

Magic Abilities 

Magic has infinite possibilities obviously. Cast attacks that ignore armor, use poisons, fire, lighting and healing spells. Or use crowd control spells and freeze your enemies.

Oh man so many ways to do this!

Thanks for your passion man. truly. I know Akumi is your baby, and I know you'll do everything you can to protect her and make this game special for all of us. I also think it's going to make you proud to see this finally be complete and shared with the world. We're ALL rooting for you and this project man! :)

I'm pouring all the Akumi lore into this game. I really want to make it a rich and appealing game world. This will not be a simple game. The gameplay will be way more complex and unpredictable with a balance of strategy and randomness. I want to give players satisfaction in prepping their character or characters with different abilities and stats and sending them into a battle and getting to watch their character fight with the customization they gave them. There are so many possibilities for this mechanic. Truth be told, I don't want to talk too much about what this game "will" be. I just want to build it and make it a reality. It's my only focus this year... and for the first time it really is my only focus.

Call me worried but I really hope this game doesn't become as simple as the little toddler game that is AQWorlds. Also, while I absolutely love Oversoul to this day, because it's a simple turn based game it's a tad too easy to predict the outcomes of the victor in that one. I hope this one is a bit more challenging and requires some actual hark work and effort to play. Since Artix is helping and probably other from AE It's my hope that it's not just another typical too safe too simple cookie cutter AE game. and with you being there I know it won't be in terms of looks. but how about in Functionality and gameplay? Also Unlike what happened with OVERSOUL, will AE actually make a real effort to assist you in promoting this game so it actually has a fighting chance to be a success this time. If they don't and it flops like what occurred with Oversoul. I love Akumi with all of my Being. I think I speak for even you when I say it would be truly soul crushing Milton, if this game dies before it even has a change to breathe and cut loose. :(
