Akumi Wars - Male & Female Template Test

So I have this bad practice of building game characters from scratch out of "artist pride" or something... I did this with my game Oversoul. Every character I built was 90% from ground zero. From the art to the animations, I almost always redid everything.  This is a terrible method, it made it very impractical to build upon effectively. It made everything take longer. It's why AE doesn't update the game often... it's very hard to do because of the way I built it.

I started to do the same thing with Akumi Wars but I realize this way just isn't smart. I'm one guy with limited time. I need to put away this artist pride and build systems like I did in AQW.

So here we have the first Akumi Wars character templates for the male and female. They might change a bit. I still need to animate them to get all the problem worked out. But this will provide you artist fans with an idea of how characters will fit into the game. So in the future, we may have ways to get your character ideas in-game just like in AQW. Again these still need to be fin-tuned but you get the idea.

I'll also be building templates for different kinds of monsters too!

Onwards and Upwards!

Wait so you used to do the art in AQW? Well that explains all the sexy female stuff in-game.

Gotcha! Thanks for the info, will definitely keep this in mind.

Yeah with Adam being involved, he may not be too keen on the idea of you sharing templates just yet. Now obiovusly if players decide to do it illegally by using google dev tools to steal files (which is usually what tends to happen) it can't be helped. It's just it would def be good to protect your stuff just incase people try to claim they made them themselves, etc. It does happen more than you think. A lot of people love spreading other people's work and claiming it as their own. But yeah. I'd say talk to adam and see if you could post maybe a screenshot of the template or something to that effect rather than the actual file. ;)
