I will be unavailable for a few days
Added 2021-10-02 21:29:02 +0000 UTCHello,
In a few days I'll be going on a management training. It's 100km away from home, so I won't have pc with me, and I don't own a laptop.
The training starts on the morning 5.10.2021 and ends on the evening 11.10.2021.
Because of this I will be out of reach during this period. I will have my phone, though. So I will try to answer you if anything comes up.
This also means that 0.1.11 will come out a few days later. I won't be able to do much during this time. I will try to lend my sister's laptop to write code, but rendering would have to be done after coming back. To render in 4K is very hard on the rig. Hotel 1/2F with 3 characters takes ~70GB of RAM. I don't have that much, but Windows can use disk as a 'storage' for RAM data, it's much slower though.
Basically now rendering is a pain in the ass.
- Low FPS (hotel at night with a few characters has 0.5 to 3 FPS, my graphic card is just too weak, 16GB RAM is also not helping),
- Freezes (because it tries to load many GBs to RAM from disk all at once),
- Bugs (most of used tools are add-ons, not everything is perfectly compatible, some setting are not saved, mouse gets stuck at one place, and always returns there, only pc reset helps, nipples get super stiff when I change girl clothes or pose, only reloading character body helps, and much much more issues I fight with),
- Low Quality (from what I observed, studio auto-decreases quality when PC has it really hard, some scenes are just looking worse, and I can do nothing about it),
- Poor Anti-Aliasing (so I need to blur images, as close-up hair look awful.),
- Clipping (especially skirt physics, I need to manually paint the clothes over body where it's clipping. I do it in Paint net app. In some cases, there is simply no way to get no clipping renders, besides re rendering the whole event from the beginning).
I didn't list all these for no reason. All these reasons have one big side effect. Rendering takes a lot of time. A lot more than it could if I could work in a fluid, stable environment. I will be buying 128GB RAM soon, so hopefully it gets a little better.
This should help you to understand why rendering takes so much time, don't get me wrong, even with everything working perfectly, rendering would still take a lot of time, just to prepare a scene, and do all the poses in the event requires a lot of time. But as of now dealing with problems takes as much work as the rest, or even more.
Thank you for all the support.
