The music of Serenity (new song sample)

Just a quick post to end the weekend. I have mentioned that I am slowly running out of music choices that I like. Well, as much as I hate AI stuff, with music I just have no other way right now (that I can afford). So I'm giving this a try. Seems pretty damn cool so far. But I spent quite a long time changing this damn song until I got it figured out.
Give it a listen and let me know what you think in the comments below. If you guys hate the idea of using AI to get music, I'll keep looking for new options. It's just that my sources for audio are not cheap and many others are even more expensive.
While I'm here, I did start coding Serenity C2: episode 5. First devlog will be posted later this week. Love you all! -Fire

2025-10-15 17:48:24 +0000 UTCmy issue with ai, is that comes swipe other people's work, and they are never paid. They are basically stealing copyright content and then being released as ai work. I already know several people's who's work has been taken and used as ai art, they are absolutely fuming. The problem will only get worse as more ai crawl the web and more work is stolen because i do not know what other way to describe what is happening. Those two artists making a living making commissioned work and their work is being stolen and used by the ai crawlers.

(Easily my new found favourite replacing some I have replayed hundreds of times) I would say moving with the times and embracing the use of AI to remove some of the pressure is fully understandable. Personally I would like to see this game series continue for as long as possible so anything that helps you continue the fantastic work that you are doing is worth utilising.

Heck, Agentic AI is going to kill many roles in the IT sphere, but it is my personal opinion that you are doing nothing wrong. Hell, a Microsoft backed billion dollar startup had 700 Indian engineers pretend to be an AI. At the end of the day, we all use the tools available to us at any given time. Have the LLM's harvested the current music archives? Of course they have. Is it your fault Fire? Absolutely not. Again, we pay for services, and get results. Unfortunately ethical/moral concerns for using these services is a ship long sailed. We can no longer ignore them. Sad but true. TL;DR Fire? You are not responsible for the source.

2025-06-03 21:34:03 +0000 UTCFWIW - I don't plan on going all out and using AI for all my music. But I may use 1 AI generated track every few episodes to fill in a gap. I do agree with you, but I mean... we're talking about a free AVN that is little known outside of this limited community we have here. Not minimizing my own work here, but I'm extremely small compared to what's out there. I could write a big long post on my opinions about AI and music licensing in general. Creatively speaking, I can write a story, probably not the best, but I can do that. I can pose characters, create an image, render it, etc... I can do that too. But music is tricky and extremely time consuming to do yourself when you have to write, code, render, build, etc... I have created my own music, in fact, there are several tracks in my games that I made myself using software and a midi keyboard (check the game/audio folder for: showme.mp3, fromwithin.mp3 - these are my own work). Maybe I'll try to set that up again. We'll see.

I have several moral/ethical concerns with using AI-generated music, all of are the same I have with AI-generated art and can all boil down to this: is there concrete evidence that the original artists were properly paid for the sources used to train the AI? I personally would be much more comfortable knowing that AI-generated music was not used here, but needs must and all that. Given the current situation, and that the end product is going out for free, my concerns are not at the level where I would do anything drastic, and I imagine that within the context of the scene you will use this for it will sound just fine. I know you would have gone with non-AI music if you could have. I just wanted to get my concerns posted.
