If you ever get sick of super hero movies, certainly blame Christopher Nolan and his Batman trilogy, but I think Jon Favreau gets at least half the blame. in 2008, he directed IRON MAN, and it was so successful that it started the Marvel Super Hero Universe...which is still going. Favreau also had big hand in the Star Wars series, The Mandolorian, and I think he's set to direct some Star Wars movies.

I don't know if you realized or knew but the bridge scene in It's a Wonderful Life is the same bridge used in Elf. When Buddy looks down at the river, this is a direct reference to that movie.
