It's very thorough and well organized with each self-paced session building upon the skills you learned during prior sessions. Make sure you resist the urge to skip the safety readings and take your time learning the basics. You don't need to shell out a lot of money to get started, but do buy some EMT shears before you start (no scissors or knives). Most rope lengths we use are 15' (enough to tie a limb to another limb, or a limb to a thing) and 30' (for the fun harnesses and strappy things). The elbow forearm tie in these photos used 2 x 30' ropes (1x red, 1x black) and the chest harness was with 1 x 30' rope. The leg bind in the last photo was 1 x 30' rope. Our ropes are nylon purchased from knotheadnylon.net, but we were using plain old nylon rope from our local hardware store before we purchased the nice stuff. If you end up enjoying the hobby, the gold standard for learning is in person classes. Depending on where you live, you could have trouble finding something nearby. ShibariStudy.com is also very good. A few bucks a month for a lot of high-quality educational content. They have some free stuff on their website and their YouTube channel as well.
