I should be posting more.

Same thing Ive said a lot lately, at the very least I am still drawing here and there and still put out the monthly zip packs.

From the suggestion thread this month.  Speedy's Aurora.

In other news, I quit my job today. I just couldn't take it anymore. Too much stress, too much needing to cover down on other peoples mistakes, too much being the last line of defense in making sure that things didn't get screwed up.  It was something I could do, but not at the severity that I was required to.  I've been trying for the last year to make it work and holding out hope that things would get better, but they never did. I had to give up on it.

It's been between ending things there and ending things here for a while now.  The mental energy required to keep things going there was eating away at my ability to create and interact here and elsewhere and I finally today had enough of that and decided that I would rather take my chances trying to make a living off of art, at least for as long as savings holds out.

At the very least, I now have more time to focus on creating better quality work, if not just more time for art in general.

For the time being though, this week is going to be spent relaxing and trying to plan the next few months.  Ive got at least 6 months to figure out if I can keep things going just on art, or if I need to look for other work.

I should be posting more.

While that's definitely a scary moment, it sounds like you made the call for the best of reasons, to pull yourself out of a toxic and negative situation, in the hope of working for yourself and hopefully having so much more fun while doing so. Here's to supporting you in the new quest, and hopefully you can find a much more pleasant balance now that you're free of such a negative life-element! :)

Ouch. You reminded me of how I felt back in later 2011 / early 2012 at my former workplace when things got really tough due to cashflow issues. In the end, I opted to take voluntary redundancy when I got the chance. Do look for any support services you can access to boost your chances of either getting back into full-time work or becoming self-employed.

Saw your twitter posts, I can relate to the feelings you had to some degree. Rob is right, we're rooting for you dude ^^

Wow. :O That can't have been an easy decision to make, but from everything I've read it has to be the right one. Best wishes and good luck.

First and foremost is to make sure that you are well taken care of! We love your work and as such, want you to be in the best head space. A shit job with shitty folks doth not make for a great feeling! Take care and recharge! We are rooting for you!
