Title: Assault [1]

Sayaka could no longer bear the bloody scene before her. She knelt, covering her face, sobbing uncontrollably.

“I didn’t know! Why did just asking for a system change lead to investigating magic data?”

“You’re not completely clueless, then. I’ll give you a chance.”

Kousen decisively incapacitated the sobbing Sayaka and the other two terrorists.

He struck hard, and since he hadn’t called for backup, their unconscious state might last a full day.

“Kudou, where are you now? The school’s turning chaotic everywhere.”

Katsuto’s voice call came at just the right time.

“Perfect timing, Juumonji-senpai. Send some people to the school library. There are four terrorists and two school students who need to be detained.”

“And bring stretchers too—one terrorist is severely injured, the rest are incapacitated.”

It was like getting a pillow when sleepy. Initially, Kousen had planned to notify the Disciplinary Committee himself to handle it.

After all, when he arrived, he hadn’t expected school students to be involved. His original intent was to leave only one person alive for interrogation and eliminate the rest.

“I didn’t expect school students to be involved too?”

“Yeah, these two students—Juumonji-senpai, please keep their involvement discreet. It seems they were tricked into coming here and didn’t fully understand what was going on.”

“I’ll handle the rest.”

“Understood.”

After hanging up, Kousen prepared to go downstairs to bring the other two terrorists up and guard them. Though he had thoroughly incapacitated them, they were still lying in the hall. If someone suddenly came to rescue them, it wouldn’t be good.

Kousen had just reached the stairs when he saw the Shiba siblings and Erika in the lower hall, inspecting the two terrorists lying on the ground.

“You guys got here fast. You must’ve come straight here as soon as the chaos started.”

Kousen leaned against the stair railing, addressing the group below.

Tatsuya had sensed his presence the moment Kousen reached the stairs—or rather, it wasn’t quite like that.

Since entering the library, Tatsuya had been using [Elemental Sight] to detect the positions of everyone inside. The scene of one person standing while everyone else was down had already convinced him that the enemies inside had been neutralized.

He just didn’t know who had done it.

“You knew there’d be a terrorist attack here, Kousen?”

“It wasn’t hard to guess. After all, the school only has two or three critical locations, and I judged this one to be the most vulnerable.”

Kousen shrugged, then leaped directly from the fourth-floor railing. However, mid-air, he used magic to tap the wall twice to slow his descent. Otherwise, from that height, even he would’ve been seriously injured.

“Since you’re here, perfect—help me out.”

“What’s up? We came to help anyway.”

Erika grinned enthusiastically, her extended police baton held in front of her chest, ready for action.

“From your look, I can tell what you’re thinking.”

“But sorry, I’m not asking for help with fighting. I just need you to guard the suspicious people in the hall and the archive room.”

“Tch, boring.”

Erika slung her extended baton-shaped CAD over her shoulder, pouting.

“Tatsuya-kun, sorry to trouble you. The people Juumonji-senpai sends will take over later.”

Kousen tugged at the corner of his mouth, deciding to address only Tatsuya.

“Understood.”

Tatsuya nodded in agreement. After all, this was part of his duties as a Disciplinary Committee member; he couldn’t refuse.

“And Mibu-senpai is upstairs—keep an eye on her.”

“I’ve got things to do, so I’m heading out.”

Kousen walked out without looking back. But as he left, Tatsuya received another message from him.

Thinking Kousen had more to say, Tatsuya opened it without hesitation.

{Mibu-senpai was knocked out by my strike. If you only send your sister and Chiba-kun upstairs, whatever you do won’t be noticed.}

“Onii-sama, you’re not planning to go up alone, are you?”

Miyuki’s cold voice reached Tatsuya’s ears.

“Wait, Miyuki. I didn’t say I’d go up alone.”

“This guy, really.”

Tatsuya’s face showed a rare surge of emotion.

Running through the school grounds, the school was completely different from before—it had turned into a battlefield.

Broken trees and craters were scattered everywhere.

Students had spontaneously formed security teams, and the school’s law enforcement and Disciplinary Committee were fighting the terrorists.

On his way to the school gate, Kousen helped a few struggling students.

The good news was that he didn’t see any other Second Course students among the terrorists.

What should’ve taken a few minutes took Kousen nearly half an hour to reach the gate. When he arrived, an armed off-road vehicle was already parked there.

“Get in quick.”

The driver’s window rolled down, revealing Katsuto’s face, calling out to Kousen.

As Kousen got into the vehicle, he saw a student in the front passenger seat.

“Yo! Kudou, I’m joining in too.”

Kirihara Takeaki’s broad face appeared in Kousen’s view, greeting him.

“Oh, Kirihara-senpai. Juumonji-senpai even agreed to let you come along.”

Kousen nodded politely. He had an impression of this senior, after all, as the main figure in the Sayaka incident, and he’d seen him while archiving data.

“Kirihara happened to be with me, and his reason for joining was convincing enough.” Katsuto said without turning back.

“That’s how it is. Sorry to trouble you.”

Kirihara knew Kousen was the initiator of this operation, so he was very polite.

“No problem. Juumonji-senpai, has everything at school been arranged?”

“Yes, when I got the vehicle, the school was basically under control.”

Katsuto spoke in a heavy tone, but that was just his nature.
