Title: Not Even Worth Hurting Him

“So you’re saying she doesn’t need anyone else—she’s enough on her own?”

“Mayumi-senpai is really skilled at debating, huh…”

Kousen watched the scene on the podium where Mayumi single-handedly overwhelmed the five people in front of her, unable to hold back his admiration.

“After all, Mayumi is great at finding flaws in others’ words. And her ability to process thoughts is incredibly strong. Unless her opponent’s argument is perfect, the number of people doesn’t matter to her.”

Mari said with a smile, her pride as if she were the one on stage.

“Sorry, I need to step out for a bit.”

“What, you’re not going to keep watching?”

“There’s an urgent matter I need to handle. Watanabe-senpai, please pass my apologies to Mayumi-senpai later.” Kousen raised his mobile terminal.

He quickened his pace. Just before reaching the door, he opened his terminal. On the virtual screen, a beautiful young woman appeared.

“Kousen, the [Blanche] staff data you requested has been sent to you.”

“As expected of an electronic magician? You found the location of [Blanche]’s Japan branch so quickly.”

Fujibayashi Kyoko frowned at the nickname. “Kousen, being so rude to Onee-san? I’ll teach you a lesson when we meet.”

As one of the few who knew Kousen’s true condition, Kyoko initially had complex feelings toward her half-brother.

But blood is thicker than water. Despite her complicated feelings, she couldn’t resist the urge to get closer to him.

“No nonsense. The last time I saw you was a year ago.”

Kousen snorted.

As a child, though he didn’t like paying attention to this woman, she patiently cared for him, so he deeply appreciated her. At the very least, Kyoko was on his list of family members he had to protect.

“Oh, is Kousen acting spoiled with Onee-san? Complaining that Onee-san hasn’t visited in so long?”

“Sorry, Onee-san has been busy with work and couldn’t visit. Next time, I’ll take leave and spend proper time with you.”

Kyoko spoke in an exaggerated tone, losing the mature, intellectual beauty she usually exuded.

“That’s clearly impossible.”

Kousen showed no change in emotion, as he was used to Kyoko’s way of talking to him.

If he argued back or debated, she’d only enjoy it more, and he’d just be wasting his breath.

“By the way, Kousen, you asked me to investigate this. Are you planning to deal with [Blanche] in Japan?”

Kyoko’s expression turned serious, dropping her playful demeanor.

She received Kousen’s message late last night. After a busy day, she was soaking comfortably in her bath when the message arrived.

After getting it, she called immediately, but his phone was off. Though with her skills, she could’ve forced his home communication system to activate despite the phone being off, she decided it would be futile. Even if connected, Kousen wouldn’t explain right away. Reluctantly, she left her cozy bath to investigate.

Since the data was now obtained, Kousen no longer needed to hide his intentions.

He tilted his neck. “Good, time to teach these little rats a small lesson.”

Kyoko didn’t say things like “it’s dangerous” because [Blanche] wasn’t a strong organization, and their Japan branch was just a bunch of nobodies.

With Kousen’s abilities, [Blanche] wasn’t even worth hurting him.

“Then, does Onee-san need to help you storm in? After all, they have numbers, and if you’re alone, it’ll be hard to capture them all.”

“I’m on leave right now, and I can ask Big Brother to call in some extra help.”

Kyoko thought for a moment, considering pulling some resting squad members to assist her little brother.

“No need, Kyoko-nee. If you have time, come alone. Besides, I’m not alone here.”

Kousen shook his head, declining Kyoko’s offer.

“Someone else? Who?”

“The next heir of the Juumonji family, Juumonji Katsuto.”

“Oh, him. Then it’s fine.”

Kyoko immediately pictured Katsuto, whom she knew, and was well aware of his strength. He was a man worthy of being the next heir of the Ten Master Clans.

“And Saegusa Mayumi? Since you and Juumonji Katsuto are going, Saegusa Mayumi should be joining too, right?”

“No, Mayumi-senpai isn’t part of this operation. As Student Council president, she needs to handle some follow-up matters.”

“Is it because you care about Saegusa Mayumi and don’t want her in danger? Onee-san knows everything, you know. About you and Saegusa Mayumi.”

Kyoko’s face turned playful again.

Kousen, with a blank expression, prepared to shut off the screen, but Kyoko quickly noticed his movement.

“Don’t turn it off! You haven’t told me when and where we’re meeting.”

“Three hours from now, meet in front of [Blanche]’s Japan branch headquarters.”

Then, ignoring Kyoko’s protests, Kousen cut off the screen.

His running speed increased again. This was also why he ended Kyoko’s video call—continuing it would hinder his accelerated movements.

In about a minute, Kousen, having ended the call, moved at high speed from the student hall to the school library.

“It’s already been infiltrated? The target must be data on modern magic. Such a shallow and predictable goal.”

Normally, the library, while not crowded, would have a few students studying. However, yesterday’s issue regarding the reform of Second Course student treatment caused all students, regardless of grade, to gather in the school auditorium today.

This was why the library was so easily infiltrated. If other students or guards were present, even if they couldn’t defeat the terrorists, they could at least delay them. It wouldn’t have been breached so quickly.
